  1. Here is may take on this contest, which I find very nice. As 10 different entries are requested, I send mine. I hope this number will be valid for all categories and not per category. This contest reminded me the need of having a proper First Order snow speeder in Lego. The retail one (75100) was so big that I found more interesting to reuse the pieces elsewhere than keeping the set built. The minifigs are great though... So that's the theme of my build: a mining-scale FO snow speeder. For a one second shot in the movie it seems not to be the best choice for a landspeeder, well a snowed-land speeder , but to me it's much more interesting than the reduced (and early inverted version) of the same snow speeder that appeared in 75166 set. However, I think the speeder has a great design and the removed chase scene would have been a good plus to the movie, giving the FO snow troopers a better role in the film. To have a sense of the scale, the size and pieces count is around a 29,99€ Lego set. Hope you like it! The speeder has a display stand featuring motion-blurred snowed terrain to feel that the shot is focused on the speeder itself but not on the terrain. The stand has a small tilt to increase the speed and motion feeling that may be adjusted (just) a bit. This is a front shot. The FO has found us! We are in trouble... A shot from the back with a slightly more prominent tilt. And that's it! Below are other pictures focused on some details of the model:
  2. Great build! Full of interesting details and a lot of characters. The street captures very well the atmosphere of SW. The post-production lighting is quite nice too.
  3. Other than having too few minifigs, at least one additional Rebel Trooper should be in and I miss Vader and at least one Storm Trooper, the set is very good to me. Although these things may be easily fixed, it's a shame that Lego doesn't do that itself in a 200€/$ set. That would render the set as a more interesting one. Proportions and detail are better than before overall and it has enough playability for a big set. The handle is a plus and it's reasonably hidden.
  4. Thanks! That was the idea. The intention for the location was to be at a skyscraper in a big city with lots of small apartments there, but good enough for a living hence being complete with a kitchen, dinning room, bathroom, bedroom, balcony... A confortable place to rest, read and investigate, with plants and windows to get the light of the sunsets. Something that could stay unnoticed of the myriad of other apartments in the city. Thus, the idea of hiding the weapons behind the shelves, the shadow robe and the bacta tank camouflaged as a shower.
  5. The color scheme of this build is great. I also like the angled door and the toxic waters (if they are waters at all)
  6. Nice build! The classic lunar plates are more than appropriate for an asteroids field.
  7. Got the 75215 cloud riders set for 20€. Great set with fantastic minifigs. The bikes are a bit out of proportions, but with really good details and quite interesting parts.
  8. Nice fresh design based on the Tie Crawler, very appropriate for the faction. Does it fly?
  9. I like it. It's simple, non-intrusive and convenient when browsing the builds.
  10. This kind of interior scenes would greatly increase the value of the set. But then, for decent scenes, there should be in the set Vader, 2 Stormtroopers and 2 Rebel soldiers. Given that Leia, Antilles, C3PO and R2D2 should be there, that would count for 9 minifigs without Bail Organa.
  11. Does anybody know the number of minifigs of the rumored Tantive IV? With Leia, Bail and Antilles plus maybe R2D2 & C3PO and 1 or 2 rebel soldiers that would count for 5-7 minifigs. It seems that there would be no room for any Stormtrooper and/or Vader. I would be gladly surprised otherwise.
  12. This system-scale B-Wing is very very nice!
  13. Great build and fantastic detail, specially on the engines in the center. Didn't know about this Super Star Destroyer.
  14. I tried to to make it for my children to play with, they started to be curious and they ended up helping me to create the gang characters. Many things to learn and experiment. I take note on the suggestions for improvement in the next build. Thanks!
  15. The curved shape of the bedroom is very nice. I specially like the bed and the shower.
  16. This is just a great build to learn from.
  17. Sorry, I'm a bit loss here... is the UCS ISD just a fake rumor and the UCS Tantive IV going to be real? I still need to reorganise my wallet after the UCS MF...
  18. *Your entry has earned 10XP* After picking some stuff from Coruscant, now I’m back home. Lately I have no other home than this small apartment at Brentaal, close to the center of the Galaxy. I always liked this one, I don’t know exactly why. My old 2-1B series medical droid is always happy when I come back home, and it's specially helpful when something goes wrong. It manages the bacta tank like nobody else. Today I have a visit from some old good friends. I’ve prepared something for them. Here, from the apartment balcony, nights are never dark like in the periphery. But still it’s possible to see many solar systems, specially Coruscant, the center of the Empire and the Republic before, which is not that far away. This place is actually a safe house. We have many across the galaxy and nowadays they are very handy for what they are. But let's go back to my guests. It's time to let them eat something... It's always great to have a nice evening for discussing in the living room. So many things are happening nowadays. We are waiting for instructions from the hyper-communicator on the table. The living room has my library plenty of old and new books for read and reference, among other artifacts. Knowledge was and will always be irreplaceable. My astromech droid R2-D9 is a bit nervous with the waiting... Finally we got a hyper-communication for a mission! We should grab some additional resources. Behind the library we have some special goodies for this kind of task... The hidden compact fusion energy power-plant is quite handy to recharge stuff like that and specially my prove droid, which is a resource hog. I'm unsure of what kind of dressing should I have for this mission: Like a beggar in a suburban? Elegant, like the last time with the Brentaal ambassador? Smart casual? Who knows! Hopefully I'm prepared. I have to be perfect in every situation. And for particularly difficult ones I have my favourite hidden outfit: But before doing anything else it's time to have a shower in the upper floor. This multipurpose bacta tank was a bargain when I found it for sale in Denevar. Now we are prepared for the next move...
  19. An option for the Tantive IV (if real) would be to have an UCS highly detailed exterior and an MBS playable interior. I think the balance of the Sand Crawler is actually a very good one. Let's see...
  20. Yep, closer and closer... Leia's version is great
  21. Seeing the shooter sets that just came out, I only have to say that my children liked those ones after showing all to them. It's a different way to use Lego sets and it's nice to have those Lego shooters, that I have only from the Death Star and from the old Imperial Landing Craft. The Endor one reminds me the Angry Birds play sets, which were very successful by the way. The minifigs are good and although the detail isn't that great, it's enough for playing. This is something the micro fighters line have, and children like them a lot. It all depends on the price point I guess. In any case with Lego, if you don't like anything from a set, you can change it. This is something I have said to my children always: not to stick with what you get, but use your imagination to make it better. From an AFOL point of view I like the Hoth ones. I don't really mind the move to tan for the legs, as I have older soldiers which have those tan legs, so they fit well with the overall collection of rebels as a different section or whatever. The big one has enough minifigs to play with and the small one even has a better movie-accurate version of the shields than the UCS? one, which is remarkable!
  22. We got some interesting sets from SWTOR.
  23. This Captain Antilles minifig give us fuel to hope for an UCS (or UCS-like) set worth the 20th anniversary tag.
  24. Nice build! I like the beds design and the table. The red color adds fresh to the typical gray-scale builds of this theme.
  25. Just average if it's the right one... too small. It's more like a microfighters dual pack.
