Don't know if it was posted before, but here is a detailed review of the Kessel mine worker, in german though. Let's see where it is going to be offered. I wasn't able to get DJ nor Scarif trooper minifigs from Lego . -

Thanks! From the news thread 75219 (AT-hauler) has a better part/price ratio, but 75217 (Conveyex transport) sadly not. I have to see the film, because from the trailers I would prefer the Conveyex transport, let's see... -
Finally got the 75204 Sandspeeder 25% off. I like a lot the grey pilots and the helmets, which are a good addition to the cantina and to my rebel pilots/helmets collection.

The 75221 set is a good surprise and a must buy for me. The number of Tatooine sets in the last years is great: Droid escape pod (2016), Luke's speeder (2017), and in 2018 the Mos Eisley cantina, the Tatooine battle pack, the sand crawler and the imperial landing craft. The sand troopers seem to be equal to the Cantina one. It's a bit strange to put there another Obi Wan and R2-D2, even a tusken raider and a Jawa would have more sense. The imperial shuttle pilot is a right choice. However, it would be a better set with another 2 sand troopers instead as in 7659, or a sand trooper with a dewback, to mimic the scene in the @darththeling quoted post from ANH. Any chance of an imperial Tatooine battle pack to complement the drop ship? The sand crawler is interesting as a system scale set, although I will skip it as I have the UCS one, which is an excellent set. But I like the droids... I cannot identify the medical droid with sand color though. The RA-7 droid is useful as it appears in the sand crawler scene, but also in the Death Star and in Scarif. The yellow R5 droid appears in the scene with Luke's speeder and the sand troopers in Mos Eisley. -

It's a bit funny, but for those who actually got Assault on Hoth - 75098 (me included), the medical room is a welcome addition. It's actually much better than the minimal interior of that UCS? set and way bigger! These versions of Luke, Leia and the medical droid should have been in the 75098 set instead of other stuff. And for those like me who hadn't the old Hoth sets, the 75098 was a way to catch up on that front. I would have put the medical room in the 75098 set and release a Wampa cave as a small set now instead, which didn't belong to the Echo base anyway. It would have more sense, as the medical room as such has less playability value. It has some similarities in its design to the new Jurassic World sets, but at least the last ones have dinosaurs to play with. So maybe Lego is trying to "patch" the 75098 set after all...Let's hope they will release soon some Imperial stuff to do the actual assault!! -

I had very low expectations on the Advent Calendar, and although General Merrick, the Guavian, the Death trooper and the bounty hunter are good, there are few figures in total and the rest are forgettable ones. -
Ups! too fast typing

Finally I got the USD Slave I from Lego online during the 4/5 promotion. I was a bit shocked seeing at the same page the Slave I at €199,99 and the new Kessel run MF at €174,99 . The new MF is waaay too expensive, sigh!

I saw again some reviews of the falcon. Apart from using the idea of a black floor taken from the FO star destroyer, which I think is a good idea to increase contrast and to have more textured designs, I feel it's only another falcon. I have the two previous ones and I ended up modifying one of them and the other one got a new life as pieces for other mocs. I cannot understand why it's so clean and shine just about 10 years before but in ANH it's just a piece of junk... for a ship (even for a conventional sea ship) it should be still almost new -

If it scales well with last year R2, then it would be a nice addition. Specially if it has some moving parts. Let's see. -

I just saw the TIE review from Jangbricks. The set is a step backwards from the FO TIE and the other TIEs (Striker, Advanced, Prototype). Cannot understand the use on the top of the small dish from the old 9492 TIE. The way it's done makes the frontal window too big compared to the rest of the fuselage. The back of the TIE isn't particularly compelling and the back of the panels haven't been improved neither. Apart from the minifigs, the best usage of this set is to get parts to make TIE mocs -

Maybe I'm reading too far, and I apologize if that's the case. Is still possible to get the black VIP card when purchasing the UCS MF? I thought it wasn't possible now. Given the limited availability last year I couldn't get it, and now it makes little sense without a reasonable discount. In September the set was brand new so it was ok to pay full price, then the black VIP card was a way to get discounts later on hence another reason to buy it. But now, what's the driver? Just pay full price and still wait? Availability continues to be very limited. I guess scalpers grab many of those. -

I think the minifigs count will be 5. There were also 5 in the Death Star final duel (75093), which had about 200+ pieces and many big ones. The Throne Room without Rey, Kylo and Snoke would give us an incomplete scene. A clear piece to put the light saber between Rey and Kylo would be nice, though, looking at Lego's video. So only two guards I guess, which have a great design btw. If they put 4 guards in the video, it may hint that there will be a battlepack down the road with the same version of the praetorian included. But in that case I think there won't be more than two variants and 2 or at most 3 praetorians in total, given the way they are designing battle packs lately, although I have no clue on that, of course. A safe bet for the four minifig slot would be yet another FO crew (just kidding). If they put 3 variants I would be gladly surprised. On the price... the price is too high, unless many large pieces will be used there. I fear we'll have in EU somehow €5-10 more. -
Got a nice 25% off discount (second unit 50% off) some days ago in Toys'r us for 75199 (Grievous speeder) & 75200 (Ahch-To) sets, and also for 75195 & 75196 dual micro fighters. Grievous' speeder is too big and pricey without discount but minifigs are nice. Ahch-To set hits the spot. Micro fighter are just that, but they have good minifigs selection and they are perfect for my children to play with.

I know it's a matter of taste, but I would have selected 10 out of 10 times BB-9E as an UCS-like $100 set instead of a porg. -

That's a bit unfortunate. SW Rebels has some interesting designs, but its interpretation of an OT TIE Fighter isn't one of them. -
Wow! I would say that's just insane... Great job!

Although I have the same expectation, to be honest I don't understand the dynamics of printing with Lego. For instance, the 5004406-1 polybag with the FO general had arm printing, but it wasn't even shown in the polybag photo. That was a good surprise for me when I got one. Batman minifigs, Ninjago minifigs and general minifig bags, for instance, get much better lateral printing (not only arms) and double molding, something unseen in Star Wars sets. I doubt licensing has something to do with printing differences, as minifig bags are cheap. Given the price they charge for sets with too few minifigs, adding additional printing to them would not make a noticeable cost difference. -

I live in Spain and toys r us continue trading as usual. They have the Cantina set, albeit not cheap at €59,99. Now they have a 15% off in Lego purchases, which is more or less usual at this time every year. At €51 it's more palatable... We got Poe's X-Wing at €99,99 at launch, then it moved to €89.99 after the Resistance X-Wing went out, which was a €99,99 set as well at launch, despite being a CC of the original design. -

I have the same feeling as well. Not only there are too many themes, but also the planned obsolescence is too short. The amount of time of some sets on the shelves is about one year in practical terms for the average buyer. Many RO sets weren't available last Christmas in hypermarkets for instance, they were about one year old or even less. Prices are also getting higher, which means a lot of money to afford them. What children were able to get the FO star destroyer and the resistance bomber? That was about the price of a PS4 with one or two games during Christmas time. Of course, this pace of new sets is good for a thread like this one, but the obsolescence pressure is too big... and false. When I was a child SW movies were shot about every three years, that gave us time to enjoy all of them, buying some toys and so on. Now everything is too fast. In one and a half year we will have three SW movies! Almost no new RO toys any more, it's just over a year but from the merchandising point of view is just plain old... -
Good choice! Aside of having a very good design, this set is also perfect for mod as a FO AT-ST walker, way better and cheaper than the unbelievable awful 76201 set. So pick up another one if you can.

Good to know! I have one from the advent calendar but I miss another one for my children to abuse and specially for our Echo Base. It fits there very well. The book seems to be a good gift as well. -

Ok, they did it anyway. So fine with me . MF interior has a better look overall, like with the FO star destroyer. I have to update mine... Some new interesting pieces as well in the top of the ship that can be seen better from this angle. Although it's a bit weird to have only one light speed engine, the second one would be below the bed . And I prefer last version of the seats in the TFA MF, they are more accurate. -

To me this is one of the most balanced SW sets of TLG to date. Many non-intrusive play features, nice design to catch the atmosphere, lots of details, good new characters versions, good as a display model and with a reasonable price. A step further from Ach-To set, which is also a great set. Yes, torso print as shown in the video link of this page is different from Yoda's starfighter (75168) and Duel on Geonosis (75017), which I believe had the same minifig, in the middle in the following image. This one is an updated version closer to the original 4502 set, with the X-Wing and the hut, at the right side. Now we will get an updated X-Wing in a separate set, which is nice... No comments on the left side CW poor minifig.
