  1. Great build and great color scheme! It's something different but indeed very SW. That water wall is fantastic! The number of different aliens is quite good as well to give a believable bar atmosphere.
  2. I have a similar feeling. For me the best set is the Slave I, the quality and figures is up to the 20th anniversary. Although I have the UCS Slave I, I'll get it for my children for playing, as the UCS one is too big for them. And I'll have the excuse to finish my bounty hunters gang .
  3. Last times have been very challenging after the Battle of Jakku. We had to promptly move away from our premises waiting for better times... Now we are disseminated through the galaxy, hiding ourselves from our past. Me with a casual outfit My name is Fahne Fathall and I used to work for the Empire, among other non precisely legal activities. As such I didn’t quite expect any kind of public formal recognition from the Empire. Even less nowadays, with no actual Empire anymore. So, from a given point of view, it’s an unusual advantage not being that visible in the Imperial logs. With the raise of the new Republic, with so many people willing to pick up our heads as trophies at any price all over the galaxy, it wasn’t a wise idea to talk about my previous working experiences with anybody hanging around in a cantina at Coruscant. But as a human being I still felt I needed a proper, valuable and enjoyable workplace to enhance my career, looking forward to grabbing a slice of fortune and glory. Now, after being recently recruited by the Black Sun, I may give you some bits of my origins. I come from an old ancient planet plagued of forgotten history, although I left that place during my childhood. Many years later, and not with ease within the Imperial Academy, I gained a position in the Imperial Royal Guard. A very challenging place where you could make a lot of enemies outside and specially inside the Empire. In addition to that, some razor’s edge missions and other unfortunate incidents forced me somehow to desperately sign as a member of the Shadow Guards, for espionage and counterespionage activities within and outside the Empire. An intense period for gaining even more enemies and, from time to time, some good friends as well. Me with the Guard equipment from the old days of the Empire And here I am. Those achievements and maybe some associated abilities seem to have been relevant to be accepted in this group. Now flying back to my base location at Coruscant. I’ll report from there.

  5. Mixed feelings with this wave... not exactly what a 20th anniversary wave had been with plenty of things to remember some years from now. The best one is the system-scale Slave I. Great selection of minifigs and build quality. Price is somehow high and no new carbonite mould is a step back. Even more convinced now on the waste of pieces allocation in the "UCS" Cloud City set to a mid-scale Slave I ship, as this System-scale set is far superior, and someone that could afford the CC set could afford this one as well The next one for me is the Imperial Dropship. It's a good way to get the new stormtroopers, although the ship isn't cannon/leyend or whatever. I have some nostalgia of the original one and see it with better eyes maybe, but 20 bucks is too much for a battle pack, as the "bonus" anniversary figure doesn't come for free. The pod racer is too big like the old one. Almost bigger than the 2014 Cantina open, for instance, which renders it less useful close to Mos Eisley buildings made by Lego. The best thing is the new Padme, but otherwise nothing special. A smaller Anakin pod with Sebulba and his pod to race with it might be different, but otherwise I feel it isn't up to a 20th anniversary set. The snow speeder is ok, but they have been this way since too many years. Without a new cockpit piece they look always the same. Nothing special at all for a 20th anniversary set, being a reedition of the already good 2014 set. The AT-RT is ok, although too big as well. Nothing really to be remembered neither for a 20th anniversary set. Overall I hoped to have a better wave for the 20th anniversary sets. Let's hope we get some kind of UCS set as well. The Tantive IV was excellent for its time.
  6. Wow! Zuckuss is great! That Finn minifig is a good bonus for the book.
  7. These are very good news! Finally we'll get all the bounty hunters from ESB
  8. Oh, tough decision... I that were my case, I would say that work issues should be sorted out first, having (if that were the case) a nice good bye if I would opt for a change of position. Bricks are paid by work after all.
  9. Let's see if the scale of the System-scale Slave I matches the scale of the System-scale MF. From a pieces count point of view it might be the case: 1000 pieces vs 1300 pieces. That would be great with so many System-scale MF editions sold in the last couple of years. If this set has a good execution, then the pieces of the mid-scale Slave I in the UCS Bespin set could be safely reused for MOCs
  10. Releasing a System-scale OT Slave I now makes the inclusion of a mid-scale one in the UCS Bespin set somewhat a waste of pieces that could better devoted to the Bespin station itself. Can't understand Lego logic here...
  11. This battle pack is a great addition to the Death Star. I swapped the upper cannons with the ones of the battle packs. It's better for my children to play, specially with X-Wing micro fighters.
  12. That's exactly what is weird about this strange Lego move... Almost everybody that wanted the set already had one (or many) without the benefits of "Only the best is good enough" Sorry to say that, but "We hope Star Wars fans across the world appreciate this attention to details" might not be the best hope in the event of doing it so late, without any way to bring previous buyers onboard somehow without scalpers.
  13. Oh, that's a good explanation of the perceived behaviour. However, after checking it, I got the original minifig, so I have no other option than getting the new character in the secondary market. I don't want to buy another bomber just for a single minifig... If that's the reason, a wise move from Lego would be to let buyers of the same set to get the minifig without scalpers, but this is something I have actually very few expectations to become real, sigh!
  14. I like the new scout tropper helmet and the imperial ones more than the clone wars ones. I hope the helmet isn't too big being dual molded as the last rebel pilot helmet. I have still to see in person the new dual molded storm trooper helmet, though. Keeping fingers crossed On the printing topic, non-perfect printing is fine with me, even if not completely accurate as Lego are just toys with deformed minifig bodies, and never will be (specially Lego ones) too accurate, neither the figs nor the ships/locations. I think printing accuracy is a tradeoff with mass production and keeping price reasonable.
  15. Damn! This is weird... updating the packaging with new shots as well... I have to check which version I have
  16. Got the First Order Star Destroyer (75190) for 70€ on clearance. Couldn't resist again . The set/minifigs/pieces are great and very useful for MOCs as well.
  17. I think this link will give you a good approximation of the dimensions: Slave I display case
  18. Let's see if the 20th anniversary sets have similar quality as the Death Star Escape set. I like the gift of a classic minifig idea, as someone who started with the 125 set.
  19. Congrats! I was lucky as well this time with the UCS MF. With the saved money I would have no doubt about getting the Slave I for a perfect companion.
  20. Let's hope it will complement the UCS? Assault on Hoth set as well, like the Medical Chamber. If it has a snow speeder, having part of the the hangar bay somehow would be great (but that's only a desire, sorry for that).
  21. Yes, the interior of the new Imperial Landing Craft is just lame. I prefer much more the previous version. I still have to figure it out. But I'll keep it posted. And I got the UCS MF (75192) 30% off to complement my UCS Slave I during the last Cyber Monday. I guess the MF has a lot of tech inside hence the offer during just that day . Now I need to find a place or some kind of table to put it on without taking too much space in my not so big house... to calm down my wife .
  22. I have the same feelings. The set is quite decent, but minifig selection is low for that price, €129,99 in many EU countries. Director Krennic, the servant or both should have been there for the price. I like the small TIE for playability, but it's arguable to use those pieces to improve the castle itself, like adding the scene of Krennic's aspirations.
  23. A Kamino set? That would be an interesting shift for the set. But with 20 bucks worth of pieces I don't know what they could decently do there... A 29,99 set would give TLG a better choice to introduce a place that I think they haven't explored yet.
  24. I have the same impression. 6-7 is a perfect age to let they see the films. Jurassic Park even later, as the behaviour of the dinosaurs is quite scary for small children. As it has to be a market driver, I think the target audience are parents/family gifts instead o children themselves asking for the specific toys. And here it's where I don't specially like the SW 4+ sets, the models aren't that good. I see the Jurassic World ones better bang for the buck, although they aren't cheap neither. Micro fighters are a different story. They are targeted for 6+ children, which need quite some time to build them. They used to have seen the films before, so they ask more for those toys. They are small enough for their hands to play with and good accuracy just doesn't matter at all. They need at least one or two years to learn how to build new ones with imagination with several construction angles, which gives plenty of fun time for playing and experimenting ideas. This is something it doesn't happen with 4+ sets, which have very big pieces and very small ones which (i) limit the options for new builds and (ii) the small pieces cannot be handled that well. But maybe it's just me...
  25. The 4+ TIE has good figs, a Death Star printed piece and a TIE window printed piece. The rest is forgettable. The 4+ X-Wing has a nice Luke and the new Stormtrooper I still need to see in real life to have an opinion. The rest is not that great given the X-Wing microfighters did play more or less a similar role for small children. I'm not a fan of the brick-built Dewback "microfighter" nor the escape pod. I like the main droid characters in a cheap set. The battle packs, although not perfect, are great. The Death Star escape to me is close to perfect given its size, couldn't ask for more. The two microfighters with Darth Maul and Anakin are also great with two main characters. I think at these three price points TLG is doing a fantastic job. Very good quality and very good figures at an affordable price.
