Great work! Absolutely stunning! I have to study in detail all the techniques used: the walls, the details of the castle houses, the trees, the river, the snow...

*Your entry has earned 7 XP (x2 for limited challenge)* After the last Episode... Gruntar: Oinkf! grourf! Those guys in front of us seem to stay here for a while… they are waiting for someone. We’ll see… Fahne: You’re a lucky creature, you’ll have some time to clear out all tapas of this terrace. Gruntar: Yes, for sure! They’ll have to hunt more of those, I guess. Fahne: Uff! How hot is this place, even now at the evening with the suns set. Gruntar: Complaining again? Come on! Cannot believe that! You’ve been here so many times… Fahne: I think you’ll never understand how much I hate this planet. First time I was here was many years ago, hunting a corellian corvette. Gruntar: Really? Never knew about that. What happened? Fahne: Well… that’s a long story… but making a long story short, I was at Vader’s star destroyer when that corvette escaped from Scarif. It took us a while to figure out where was it heading. But finally we found it. Almost here. Then… Fahne: We hit its engines and we were ready to take it over... Fahne: We didn't know what was at the other side. Fahne: They didn't know neither... Fahne: There was some resistance, although not that much but... Fahne: ...but we had to clear it out from door to door... not an easy task. Fahne: Vader was specially angry, I didn’t know really why. Fahne: Some troopers were a bit scared about that, but you know… Fahne: The deck was taken over. [This shot has the 9 stormtroopers] Fahne: We had to protect the boarding door. For sure nobody on that ship would surpass us by any means and that was strange. Mike wasn’t convinced neither of what was going on. Mike: Why spending so much time on this thing if it was so easy to blow it away? Fahne: Don’t know, but we’ll see soon. See… That guy isn’t collaborating at all. It has just a few seconds to think twice. Vader: Miss Fathall, we have missed something, probably some androids. A full division is going to land to find them. But that is not going to be easy. Please, go there as well, but behave as you know. Fahne: Yes, Milord. Anything else? Vader: Feel free with your team.

Wow! This model is excellent! Proportions, colors and shape are very well done. Very interesting the smoothing of the borders of the Falcon main body, it makes the set much better shaped. The additional colors adds to the overall building from distance. The rounded holes in the front, using a similar technic of the UCS MF, is a very good choice.

Before the Christmas campaign we get quite interesting deals here in Europe, specially in some weekends. This one was from Carrefour, but other big stores make good deals as well in the range of 20%-40% during October and November. From that offer I also got the new Harry Potter sets in advance for my children and the day after I found with the same discount 75243 Slave I system scale ship and 75256 Kylo Ken's shuttle, which is a great improvement over the last one, now in the fence of being dismantled for MOCs. The mid scale Slave I of 75222 Betrayal at Cloud City will probably have the same destiny now that I have the system scale one. I found 75222 in another weekend in October 30% off at Toysrus, which in some countries here in Europe manages to survive.

Got the 75254 AT-ST 40% off. The set is nice, although with only one driver place. With jumpers it's easy to mod it to have space for two drivers as it should. The minifigs are great.

The 75254 AT-ST is a bit expensive, so better get it with some discount, but at least it's a complete AT-ST! The minifigs selection for the set is also very good. So at least it has some options to sell well. The last half AT-ST set had none. Future sets are always unknown... I still wonder why we haven't got any additional RO sets . I guess the pace of the films and series releases is too fast. -
The upwards path with the rocks and red plants are very nice!

*Your entry has earned 6 XP* Fahne: We've assigned a mission in Tatooine. This place is one of the worst places I've ever been in. It was so nice to stay in the centre of the Galaxy... But here... It's too hot for my taste. Sadly we are again at work, so this is something to live with... as usual... Gruntar: Ha, ha... You have to see more the positive side of things. The food here is quite good by the way. You'll get used to places like this one. Fahne: Those are the two guys from the New Republic we've been told. Too classy to be in this place I guess. Mmm... someone else is coming... Gruntar: Nothing good if they are going to meet with the riders of that beast... Fahne: That's strange... What are they doing with those Tusken bandits? Let's see what happens. Fahne: They shouldn't notice us... Don't see anything suspicious in the street. Gruntar: Yes, let's do something else... Ummm... Those astromech droids seem good, but no way to get anyone. Fahne: Do you want anything else? The smell inside the Cantine is quite good. Gruntar: Couldn't agree more. I could eat tens of those hot desert rats tapas! Fahne: The Tusken have moved on. We have to follow what they are doing. Gruntar: Umm.. They are discussing something. It doesn't appear they reached a deal with those riders. Fahne: We'll see... Let us enjoy this bit of time and the suns-set this evening, before things get worse.

Wow! That was a very good finding... Congrats!

I find this weird, as the inclusion of some interior in the UCS MF was a very welcome feature that was well advertised in the box and even displayed as such in Lego stores with some of the panels out to see the interior. To me choosing from start to avoid having any kind of interior is a step back on quality for a UCS set of this kind. Even the Superstardestroyer had one and with a way better selection of minifigs. -
Those are very good builds! Very small but quite accurate. Small builds push Lego building to its limits

Nice MOC. The three cannon turret design is a quite interesting design. It's a shame that there are not so building-focused sets in Lego SW sets. The snow shape is very well done. The speeder is a bit big though. I tried to make one minifig scale some time ago:

[REVIEW] Pure Display - 75192 - Millennium Falcon Stand and Display Case
dvogon replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@Jim Nice stand! I have to look at one for mine. But I haven't decided on where to put it: either in a shelf or in a coffee table. @Scene your idea is also quite good. -
Cannot agree more. I've done more or less the same thing. I select some sets for me and I let my children to select theirs. They have learnt that as I use to select SW sets, they move to other themes like City, Creators, Superheroes, Jurassic World or Harry Potter. That makes the amount of sets to cover too wide and indeed it's a ton of $$, or €€ in my case. So I try to be selective and try to find deals as much as possible, not in every case, but in most of them. Then there are the UCS sets, which require additional planning...

I've seen the reviews of the new Kylo Ren Shuttle and the new MF. The first one is a big improvement with a good selection of minifigs. The mechanism to move the wings is so well hidden! The MF improvement aren't that big and the minifigs selection is just ok, but the proportions are way better. I don't have that triangle piece to give better proportions, but it's very handy for MOCs. It must be a new one or it was way out of my radar... -
Very nice looking room. Quite clean MOC design.
