  1. "Regular" Lego theme? What do you mean by that?
  2. The figure looks fair enough, but what I'm primarily glad to see is that Atlantean Guard helmet receive new life beyond its originally intended purpose as a Metallic Silver recolor.
  3. Just for future reference, I did start an individual topic for the show a little while ago.
  4. Looks like a Trans-Dark Green recolor of this one if you ask me: Brickset - 92474
  5. Looks like the Overwatch theme's 75975 Watchpoint: Gibraltar includes a completely solid Bright Blue recolor of the Nexo Knights' year two armor for its Pharah minifigure:
  6. ...and here's Beyond the Brick's interview with the display's builders, including a look at its monorail in motion:
  7. Nope, they're a pair of slope bricks that shift their 1×2 slope over a stud to either the left or the right without straightening the slope out, possibly very much like my sketch proposal:
  8. By the way, for any visitors to this topic that aren't aware of this LEGO Ideas project yet... LEGO Ideas - LL497 Galactic Explorer by Peter Reid Here's that spaceship in question for anyone else wondering... The Brothers Brick - Full lineup of LEGO Blizzard Overwatch sets revealed, available in January [News]
  9. Guess what? It looks like my dream slope has finally become a reality... See it yet?
  10. Well, at long last, here are some of our first LEGO Overwatch sets! The Brick Fan - LEGO Overwatch Official Images Found at Target
  11. The Brick Fan - LEGO Overwatch Official Images Found at Target Oh my... ...YES!!! Yes, those are them! Thank you so much for spotting those!!!
  12. That set in particular just must have been designed by Mark Stafford (a.k.a. @Nabii).
  13. Well, when Jon Hall started building the bulk of his many Sky-Fi warplane creations around 2011/2012, many commenters of his work over on Flickr threw around the term way back then. Plus, others AFOL builders who took their own shots at the genre around the same year(s) often cited Jon's work as their primary inspiration. So, could the term perhaps have been birthed in response to his work then at the time?
  14. Whoa, those builds do not disappoint... Well, the three stars of this wave definitely are the D. VA & Reinhardt mech combo pack, that retrofuturistic hovertruck with McCree, and the Watchpoint playset with that incredible shuttle! Fans of Space Police II are going to be all over D. VA's mech for those newly recolored Trans-Dark Green canopy pieces, while I can definitely see @Murdoch17 giving that Watchpoint shuttle a Classic Space makeover!
  15. Honestly, I'm afraid this submission lacks the romanticism that would make an Ideas project appealing to a broader audience beyond those are definitely interested in it, not to mention that it kinda fits into the City theme a little too nicely. In other words, this project might be rejected based upon the same grounds many Modular Building projects are rejected, if you know what I mean.
  16. Up until recently, I haven't dedicatedly watched any TV shows with the exception of random episodes of classic shows such as I Love Lucy, Lassie, The Andy Griffith Show, etc. I'm more of a movie guy, primarily due to my preference for their higher production quality, not to mention that you don't have to dedicate yourself to more than three hours to watching one. So, having said that, I can only say that my two favorite TV shows as of now are the only two I've watched so far, that being Amazon Prime's The Man in the High Castle and Netflix's Stranger Things. Sure, you can't watch them in a single evening, but their familiar cinematic quality and engaging characters make the commitment worth it.
  17. By the way, do you (or anyone else here for that matter) know who coined the term "Sky-Fi" and when that may have been? I've searched for this before thinking that it has some origins beyond the AFOL-sphere, but that's the only fandom the term seems to exist within, whereas others outside of the AFOL-sphere only use the videogame Crimson Skies as their point of reference in the naming of that warplane-centric subgenre of Dieselpunk.
  18. Despite the more recent influx of more IP-based products coming into their own lineup (), Playmobil even in this day and age still relies heavily on original, archetypical playsets, meaning that there's still a significant market for such themes and storylines that Lego is neglecting for the most part. The least they could do is introduce another unified umbrella theme to encompass all those currently homeless themes. Creator anyone? A most perfect example to cite as an analogy, especially ironic since I just finished watching its first two seasons for the very first time.
  19. Just finished watching the second season of Netflix's Stranger Things last night. Granted, while I overall preferred the previous season for its more classic, trope-encompassing dynamic, the second one did offer plenty of new and interesting directions (never mind that out-of-place seventh episode detour) with a satisfying conclusion to wrap up the story arc (well, kinda). Speaking of that conclusion...
  20. Galaxy Explorer Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Light Bluish Grey torso with S6 Intergalactic Girl's torso print, though with a slightly larger Classic Space insignia. Plus, arms are also in Light Bluish Grey while the hands are Bright Blue, with the Classic Space insignia printed as a badge on both upper arms. Type of headgear: Bright Blue recolor of the S12 Space Miner's helmet (with Trans-Yellow visor clipped on) and a new, square-ish backpack part also in Bright Blue. Printing on the back of the new backpack part would include a Black and Yellow bordered DANGER warning with Red and Green lights situated above it, while the top the backpack would allow for a Light Bluish Grey recolor of the traditional joystick part to clip in as an antenna. Type of facial expression: Optimistic, forward-looking smile. Color on torso/legs: Dual molded Light Bluish Grey legs with Bright Blue boots. Accessory: Metallic Silver recolor of the newer metal detector part. Adventurer Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Tan khaki shirt with dual-molded arms for sleeves (Brick Yellow upper, Bright Yellow lower). Plus, wears a Reddish Brown saddlebag over his shoulder with a Dark Red bandana part worn in reverse as a kercheif. Type of headgear: New Australian Slouch Hat mold in Reddish Brown. Type of facial expression: Smirking with heavy Dark Brown eyebrows, sideburns, and pencil mustache. Color on torso/legs: Dual molded Olive Green legs with Reddish Brown boots and Reddish Brown, Metallic Copper buckled leather belt printed on the hip piece. Also, cargo pockets would be printed on the upper sides of both legs. Accessory: Metallic Titanium recolor of the traditional revolver piece and a Pearl Gold LEGO Games microfigure with likeness of a Mayan/Aztek deity printed onto it. Fantasy Knight Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Earth Blue torso with Metallic Silver ornamental armor detailing and a hexagonally-shaped Eagle crest/coat of arms center chest evocative of Jayko's from Knights Kingdom II. Plus, a Metallic Silver recolor of the Nexo Knights' year three armor part to slip over the torso. Type of headgear: Cool Yellow recolor of either TLNM Lloyd's or TLJ Luke Skywalker's hairpiece. Type of facial expression: Solemn, heroic expression with high cheekbones, low eyebrows, and bronzed complexion printed onto a Flame Yellowish Orange head. Color on torso/legs: Dual molded Earth Blue legs with Metallic Silver boots and continuation of torso's armor and ornamentation prints. Accessory: New sword mold with winged hilt in Metallic Silver and new hexagonally-shaped shield printed with the same crest as seen printed on the torso. Excellent suggestion fill-out! A most noir archetype!
  21. Mecha and Kaiju? You're talking about an in-house take on Del Toro's Pacific Rim eh?
  22. As always! Keep up the extraordinary work! Yeah, same here! If you ask me, I don't know why Lego haven't given us a Superman playset centered around that villain, as I'd imagine that it would be a cleverly creative one, something akin to Superman's take on the many Joker Funhouse sets we've seen over the years.
  23. Groggy Guy Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Royal Blue torso printed with vertical White stripes representing his bed robe. Type of headgear: TLNM Jay's hairpiece recolored in Reddish Brown. Type of facial expression: Sleepy eyed with a "five-o-clock shadow" upon his face. Color on torso/legs: Dual-molded Royal Blue legs with Bright Yellow "boots" and Reddish Brown slippers printed on the "toes" of the feet, along with continuation of bed robe's white stripe printing upon the legs' upper halves. Accessory: Dark Brown coffee mug recolor and a new, rolled-up newspaper mold. Locomotive Engineer Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Dark Bluish Grey torso with Light Bluish Grey, Earth Blue striped overalls printed onto it, back and front, spotted with coal ash. Also, hands are Black representing gloves. Type of headgear: Dark Red bandana worn in reverse as a kerchief and a new engineer's cap mold in Light Bluish Grey printed with overall's same pencil-thin Earth Blue stripes. Type of facial expression: Weary, weathered smile spotted in coal ash. Color on torso/legs: Dual-molded Light Bluish Grey legs with Black boots and continuation of torso's striped overall prints. Accessory: Titanium Metallic recolor of the traditional shovel piece. Hipster Gender: Male. Occupation/print on torso: Bright Red plaid shirt with dual-molded arms representing short sleeves (Bright Red upper with torso's plaid prints, Bright Yellow lower). Also, vintage wrist watch printed on the lower right arm. Type of headgear: New, pompom-topped beanie hat mold in Earth Blue. Type of facial expression: Contented, relaxed look with Black, thick-rimmed square glasses and a cleanly-trimmed Dark Brown beard. Color on torso/legs: Dual-molded Earth Blue legs with Reddish Brown boots and Reddish Brown belt printed onto the hip piece. Accessory: Traditional camera mold recolored in Reddish Brown with round 1×1 tile printed with a shutter lens studded onto the camera. Luc Besson's The Fifth Element eh? I haven't seen that film yet, but as soon as I looked up the quote, all three of your archetypes made sense given what surface-level knowledge I have on the movie. On a side note, a generic Taxi Driver archetype could make for an interesting CMF.
