  1. No? You personally prefer original spacecraft designs in the Classic Space style rather than reimaginings/reinventions of the original sets?
  2. I'd like to mention this other subset within the Neo-Classic Space building style known as "Classic Space Evolved", as coined by Peter Morris. As he describes it... What I like about this style myself is that it offers leeway in hue of color changes, keeping a particular color scheme within the same spectrum context, but allowing for darkening and/or lightening of any of the individual colors within a particular subtheme's signature color scheme.
  3. Here's a random thought: Instead of a narrative-driven TV show, why couldn't Lego commission an original videogame as the media tie-in for launching an in-house playtheme? Perhaps the videogame would be launched first to measure interest in the theme's concepts presented, then tie-in playsets would be green-lighted after its success. I know I've said this before elsewhere, but fan creations are the LEGO System's fan art, and many themes' MOCs do produce their own backstories to complement, hence the fan fiction. Well, in the case of the Creator theme, it's a damn shame that it predominantly preoccupies itself with real-life subject matters year after year. Heh, if you are to presume those were their preeminent aspirations back then.
  4. Even if this upcoming Space subtheme isn't an all-out spiritual successor to Classic Space as-we-knew-it, a Lunar Outpost at the very least is a start, as you can expect the next iteration of Space from City to push the envelope a little further outward four years later.
  5. Here's New Elementary's review of this year's sets individually as a whole... New Elementary - 2019 LEGO® SPEED CHAMPIONS PART 1: THE SETS ...and here's their look at the wave's newly introduced elements! New Elementary - 2019 LEGO® SPEED CHAMPIONS PART 2: THE NEW ELEMENTS
  6. Congratulations @PaddyBricksplitter on having this latest creation of yours frontpaged!
  7. It'd be a shame if they didn't, as his was a very specific mold that couldn't be used outside of its context.
  8. The best I think fans should hope for in terms of Classic Space as-many-knew-it, are individual LEGO Ideas projects such as Reid's Exo-Suit, offerings from Benny & Friends such as 2014's SSS and this year's Space Squad pack, promotional offerings, and most importantly, the Creator theme! Having said that though, I do believe there are many ways an in-house Space theme can be viable currently, it just couldn't be the good ol' Grey, Blue, and Trans-Yellow of yesteryear.
  9. I sorta don't get why people expect Classic Space as it was having any sort of chance for a present-day comeback. In my eyes, a near-verbatim incarnation of CS as a full, standalone line of sets isn't a possibility, yet I can rather think of a multitude of ways a spiritual successor could be viable. I mean, how could anyone place their bets on a Classic Space revival when we haven't even seen any sort of in-house Space theme in the past six years?
  10. Hey, I haven't seen you around in awhile @PaddyBricksplitter! Welcome back!
  11. I don't know, even after the first movie took many critics by surprise, I think many still think of the franchise as kids' fare. That just seems to be the way it is with animated films outside of Disney/Pixar.
  12. So, is this just supposed to be a general discussion topic on MOCing within this style, such as discussion on personal construction techniques, parts, defining your own take on the "look" of the style, and so forth?
  13. Ehhh, I wouldn't be so certain of that yet, as per this recent TLM2 TV spot... Hey, there could always be the possibility of seeing further recolors of the new ol' style helmet mold pop-up somewhere else, including in Blue!
  14. ...with the same font style as Synder's DCEU Justice League?
  15. Since it's very akin to the Ninjago City D2C, I do hope to see these "skyline" representations of cinematic Lego cities continue on as a trend for future Lego Movies from Warner Brothers. I mean, imagine if Lego had done the same back in 2014 and 2017 for The Lego Movie's Bricksburg or The Lego Batman Movie's Gotham City!
  16. Because Overwatch seems to have much more emphasis on locations rather than vehicles, I see a lot of potential for some interesting architectural representation within possible future sets. For instance, I'd be interested to see what would come of sets portraying locations such as Hollywood, Eichenwalde, Numbani, and Oasis just to name a few.
  17. Check out @Ashnflash's latest custom CMF draft, based upon the Gotham TV show:
  18. Well, that's why I'd initially made the argument for British Steam Locomotives, particularly Tank Engines, as they'd most likely be recognized by a wider audience of kids due to the enduring global popularity of Thomas the Tank Engine.
  19. You're most welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey towards 10,000 supporters!
  20. Compatibility with the designs of minifigures from other themes, perhaps?
  21. Not exactly a modular building, just a build that's architecturally focused rather than "how-many-figures-can-we-cram-into-this-set".
  22. Hmmm, if so, I wonder what he'll be exactly. An action figure-type of character perhaps?
  23. Here are @just2good's thoughts on each of the individual CMFs within TLM2's CMS:
  24. Who's Caboom Duke supposed to be?
