  1. I reckon these ideas are winners for a village! Also, maybe a Town Hall with nice big windows out front to light up, or a Church with large double doors to light up. Either of them to have with a lamp and park bench out front and a few more carollers and/or figs (both adults and children) to add some atmosphere.
  2. I agree with both you and Alywin. These repetitive sets are certainly very appealing for kids and I like Fire themes, but like Alywin, I am loving TLC's direction with City themes this year and really hope they continue on this line next year.
  3. I second that call!!! I would love to see this as well as a set that has basic building pieces like 1 x 8, 1 x 4, 1 x 6, etc. Also some windows and long tiles included would be great. On another note, I would like to see TLG produce some City type buildings like a Post Office that would be big enough to recieve bulk mail deliveries, a School, (so I can rebuild my creator one into a town house!) a newly designed Hospital, maybe a Council Depot (so I have a place to park all my construction vehicles) and a Bus Terminal, so you can integrate out-of-town buses, or trains, with the local bus and taxi service. Some modular sets like just the bus stand from City Corner would be nice, so you could repeat this around your City. This would give the bus somewhere to go too!! Finally, a Taxi and simple Taxi Stand would make a great and affordable set, sort of like the sports car set meets the above mentioned bus stop.
  4. Thanks for the review!! I really enjoyed reading it and seeing it in action with the little movie clips. This review has confirmed that I'm not buying this set; its too big and bulky for me. Having said that though, there are some awesome build techniques and a vast array of parts and colours, so that's a big tick for Lego. Thanks again for the review and enjoy your Caruosel!!
  5. I love the work you've done on the bike. That looks great!! Well done with both vehicles.
  6. Wow! This looks fantastic! I love the cell windows on the bottom floor and the reception area. Great job!!!
  7. First up, thatnks for the review! Really well set out, plenty of pictures to see what's going on. I really like the look of this set, can't wait to get it. I voted above average as I would've liked to have seen a more detailed front cab area (dashboard would have been nice), other than that it looks a sweet little vehicle. Thumbs up Lego!
  8. After I put this in my City, the lads at my main station are going to be most displeased. All they have is one bed, an office and a watchroom for seven firies! This new station houses four and has a full kitchen and rec area, as well as lovely looking engine bay and toolshop. My F.D. will have to hit up the local council for more capital expenditure to keep the main station's employees happy, not to mention the UFU (United Firefighter's Union)! Quite seriously, this looks like an awesome set and can't wait to establish this in my Downtown area. I love that this has been fully fitted-out inside, we finally have furniture!! Well done Lego!!!
  9. Thanks for the review! I quite like this set. It's something different to the norm, which is always good! This will look great in my Town, but needs different coloured lights. I'm not sure whether to go with yellow or orange yet. Descisions, decisions!!!
  10. Yes I do, only where I see it is neccessary, hence my MOC's that I've posted here. Otherwise, it's as nature, er, Lego, has intended!!
  11. Great looking City! Very impressive! I like the fact you've mainly used sets that are avaliable now (that I can see in the pics!), not adding on to an old Town. I also like your mods, the BBQ deck and the flatbed truck. Nice! Keep up the great work!
  12. How awesome is this set! The Mrs loves Christmas decorations, I love Lego, match made in heaven!!!! Seriously, this is a fantastic set. With a bit of luck, Lego should release some more of these sets in the coming years to do the whole Christmas Village thing. Hopefully this set wings it's way to Australia, just in time for Christmas!! I also hope it's less than $US100. (Did I mention it was awesome?!)
  13. I agree. The set as it stands is awesome. I really like the way Lego is thinking with this. Unfortunately, its a bit too big for my City. This is one thing I don't like about Lego at the moment. They issue awesome sets like 7630, 7631 and this one that look fantastic, have great designs, but are just that bit too big. As a result Lego have missed out on sales, which is a bit of a shame.
  14. Thanks for that! I'll keep my eye out...
  15. Hi all. To those that own this set: is there anyone out there that doesn't want the vehicles that come with this set? I would love to buy them from you or swap some parts / sets for them. I love the truck, car and forklift that come with this set, but I don't want to buy the whole set outright just for them. I have downloaded the plans for the vehicles and was thinking about building them, but I would have to buy a lot of parts from bricklink. Can anyone help please?
  16. Thanks for the awesome review!! Basically, Freddie has said it all for me! This looks like a great set and can't wait to get one. It will look fantastic in my Town.
  17. Hi there! Thanks heaps for the review!! I love the MOC, very creative! Alas, as Eti has said above, I think its a bit too big, so I won't be getting it. I do like the review and the fact Lego have gone out on a limb and done something completely different. I have seen combine harvesters before, so I appreciate the scale, but this one's not for me due to the size. It's like 7726, Coast Guard Truck with Speedboat, because of it's size it doesn't get much of a run through Legoville. Although it has awesome detail, the truck is like a Monster Tuck compared with the other vehicles.
  18. Cool! Thanks for that. I didn't even know this service existed. Once the set pops up, I'll download them. Thanks again!
  19. Hi all. Does anyone have this set yet? If so, would you be able to supply a scan of the instructions as well as a parts list for the little handheld compactor? I would like to add this to my work gang, but I don't want to buy this set as the roller doesn't appeal to me. Thanks!

    City '09?

Hi all. I found these laast night at work and thought I'd share. They're not very clear, but you get the idea. Appologies if these have already been posted. EDIT BY WHITEFANG: Preliminary images are removed as Eurobricks do not endorse these images due to its confidential clause stated at the center of each pictures. Do not post these images again.. Do refer to the previous pages if you have not done so, as this had happened before. Thanks.
  21. I'd love to, but money's always the limiting factor, especially with some awesome City sets coming out this year!!
  22. Hi all! I thought I'd share Legoville's layout as it stands at the moment. My City used to have the older Police Station (7237), but that will eventually be turned into Legoville's Hospital. Enjoy!
  23. Thanks for the awesome review!! I'm definately getting one of these sets!! I agree with you on the excavator size: for the size of it's transporter, it could be a little bigger. I disagree on the size issue with the crane though. I think it's a perfect size. I Didn't get the XXL crane as it was too big for my City. Like 7726 - Coast Guard Truck With Speed Boat; awesome sets by themselves, but way out of scale for the City streets. I think the truck bed is slightly on the large scale as well, but I can sympathise with TLC for putting in the set and it doesn't detract from the set's overall playness or awesome-ness!!!
  24. My last sets were 7620 Indy bike chase, some road and 5611 Street Cleaner Impulse from my sister for Christmas. My first set will be either the people pack, the horse float and 4WD or the construction set (with crane, low loader and excavator). Whatever pops up in Oz first!
  25. Hi all. I'm in the Newcastle area and my favourite Lego haunts are David Jones in the City Mall and Frontline Hobbies, not too far from DJ's. Also my local K-Marts and Targets have a fairly good range as well. DJ's and Frontline are excellent as they both have diverse ranges. For instance, my darling wife bought Town Plan for me from DJ's on special at $170. (God bless her!!) I won't find kits like that at K-Mart or Target.
