We had 6364 as little tackers, I remember it well. I can't believe this is the total listings of Medical Facilities. As for the latest offering; yuck!! It's a crappy design and and even crappier excuse to use that baseplate. C'mon TLG, give us a better offering please. I whole-hartedly agree!!!

I reckon they look pretty cool. I like the adaptation of the little cement mixer to allow it to be towed. Nice work!
-
When I was little, we had two of these, they had red and blue lights on top and had a grey antenna on the back left to communicate back to base! Dad still has them in "the Lego cupboard" at home! Thanks for the review, this is a cool little car.

Yeah, mine said the same. They were going to pre-order one, but they can't do it. Grand Carousel "just turned up" one day, so they reckon that 10197 will do the same. Bit frustrating!! -

This is pretty sweet, a great use of existing space and buildings. Well done! -

My local DJ's has a few Grand Carousels for $400. Has anyone spotted 10197 yet? My locals still don't have it.... -
Absoulety Fabulous Darling!! Sorry, had to chuck that in!! Serously though, awesome job!!

This topic poses a quite interesting question!! I'm torn between Green Grocer and Fire Brigade. At the moment I own only Green Grocer and I absolutely love it. I never liked Corner Cafe as it was just an empty shell and I couldn't justify the outlay for it. Green Grocer, however does have interior detailing. I really love Fire subjects though and I'm eagerly awaiting Fire Brigade to hit Aussie shores, so I can't really decide between the two! For the poll however, I voted Green Grocer, as it's the only one I've got for now, but not for long! (I hope!)

Thanks for the great review and the fantastic pictures to go with it Svelte! I don't think Aussie stores will see it for a while, so its nice to look and dream..... I think the price could've been pegged back to an even AUD$100, but I suppose an extra $10 isn't going to hurt too much.

These are pretty cool!! I like the kabab stand the best. I agree with Legostein, they will certainly add life to your backgrounds. Well done!

Hi there! That's a fantastic layout! I think my wife will have to get to know your wife so they can discuss Lego rooms. (mostly your wife convincing mine to get me a room!!!
-
Klaus-Dieter, this is quite a hard decision! I voted for 7641 City Corner, as it has great playability and has fantastic sub-sections within the set. However, 7633 Construction Site and 7635 4WD With Horse Trailer were very close runners-up.

I'm with you Svelte! This looks really nice, a lot better than the current Famliy Home. If this had been on sale when I purchased 6754, I would've bought this instead.

It would be great if there was a Lego Shop in Australia.........

Thanks for sharing Cardinal Brick! I really like the look of this set. It's got a lot of charm and a great feel to it. I love the wooden planks on the shop floor!! Hopefully this finds its way into my Christmas stocking!!

Thanks Alywin for sharing! I love the direction that Lego has gone with these sets. I love Fire stuff!! I won't be buying though, as I have enough for my City, especially once I pick up 10197. However, I wouldn't mind getting a modern truck for this set, so it's a toss up with another 7239 or 7208, just for the ladder vehicle. I will, however, definately pick up a 3180 and 3179 at some stage next year, as these are different and 3180 has been a requirement for my City for a few years now. 2010 sets - ON!!!

Took the words right out of my word processor Rick!!! My dressing room would be a maintenance room, maybe for the SCBA gear. Upstairs would be a kitchen/crew/rec room, with sleeping quarters adjacent to it. I also love the idea of the 'modular packs'. This concept could even work for other sets, such as City Corner's bus stop.

Thanks for the update I Scream Clone. Happy birthday for tomorrow!!! -
My City looks like this and this. I'm seperating on the basis of spreading the Emergency Services out evenly with residential and a Downtown area with Modular. When I get 10197, it will go next to GG as a first response to Downtown. This way it sort of keeps the themes and buildings looking consistent. I would imagine a Downtown area to have services like entertainment and shopping combined with residential, then slowly branching out from there. That's why 7633 is getting built where it is and 7641 will be placed next to it. You then have a small shopping strip and transportation in the Downtown area, slowly changing it to more modern architecture. That's my two cents anyway!!!

Hi xNick! I'm from the Newcastle area as well. I was wondering if Charlestown has any 10197's in stock? I'm assuming you didn't see any in there the other day? I rang them about a week ago and they said they didn't have any, but to check periodically. I would be sweet to get one 20% off!! -
My City, Georgetown, currently has the Town Hall from Town Plan as the City Centre, with the fountain sitting close by. pic. It still needs some fleshing out and I think a larger park, along the lines of Klaus-Dieter's park might do the trick. Eventually, Georgetown will have an "old" part, with the addition of Fire Brigade next to Green Grocer. A Hospital and some more trees and flowers would be nice as well. I just got City Corner the other day, so that has to be included, probably opposite the Town Hall.
-
Hi Klaus-Dieter! Great city, it's good to see some pics of it. I reckon that park would have to be the centre piece of it all. I need "something else" in my layout, so I might "borrow"! some of these ideas from you. At present I have just the fountain from Town Plan as my centre piece. Well done on your layout and I hope it continues to grow!

The three City sets you'd like TLG to release
marvinblue replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Town
IMHO samthelegoman1's ideas and BlueBard's ideas listed above are what I'd like to see TLG produce. To add to that, I'd put in; 1) A decent hospital. 2) Some accessory sets i.e. a set like 8401 but with different minifigs and accessories, like a Stop sign, Keep Left, another park bench, etc, so you're not buying the same stuff over and over. 3) Repetitive sets like just the bus stop from 7641, or a simple taxi stand, or a phone booth and minifig, something that usually is repeated in a City. -
I like the look of this promo set. I think it will fit really well with my Construction team. I don't really like the other ones, but I think this one will be a keeper!

Hi there jansued! Thanks for the review!! rrigs, this is exactly what I'm going to do as well! The 1932 pump will stay, but be garaged at my main station for parades, etc, while a modern pump goes here to service the CBD as a first response. The station will probably be modernised as well, with a sat dish on top, maybe a TV inside somewhere...
