I won't get this set, but, the winch is a fantastic innovation. Looks like Bricklink will be trading a few of these! Also the raft is a pretty cool model just by itself.

7726 Coast Guard Truck & 7737 Coast Guard 4WD Pictorial Review
marvinblue replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the reviews!! I like both kits. If I was to buy one, it would be the truck and large boat. I don't really want another 4WD / trailer combo in my city. I do however like the running boards on the 4WD, something I might incorporate into my fire 4WD. -
Following on from others, I too would like to see a bank and a bank robber, a new hospital, and a bus stop or a bus terminal, complete with a bus or buses and drivers and passengers. Someting else that would be interesting would be a public works depot, with a few workers, a front end loader and an office. That way, I could also park my garbage truck, cement mixer and little digger there after hours. Also houses!! The Creator houses are absoultely fantastic, more designs would be great!! A post office or mail centre would also be a great idea, complete with an office, a loading/unloading area for the mail van/s and workers and customers. Also a smaller mail delivery vehicle like the old side cars or push bikes would be a welcome return. That way, the van would do bulk mail runs and parcel deliveries and the bike or side car would look after the mail runs.

Nice simple mod to an already good looking kit! I like it!! :-)

Greta idea! I didn't even think about that!

I've done my trucks, now I needed a place to put them all. So I bought another Fire Station and added the vehicle bays onto my original Station. Here are the results! First up, an overview. Next, focusing on the smaller bays for the Rescue and the Chief's vehicles. Here we are having a look at the truck bays. Also note the second door in the watchroom. Lego put stairs on the roof, but no way to get to them. A look inside. the empty void will probably become the crew room with a table and chairs, albeit a very small one! If this is the case, then the boss' desk and coffee machine will swap places, as well as the front door, so you come in on the office side. These next two are just showing the inside of the vehicle bays. Here we see the new and improved tool racks, as well as a double headed hydrant. The hydrant and tool board came from the new impulse fireman set. The hydrant was slightly moc'd for the second outlet. Lastly, an overview of my Fire Brigade!! *sweet* Other improvements in the future might include a small shed to put my trailers in. All comments welcome! : :-$

Two fire vehicles for sale or trade.
marvinblue replied to marvinblue's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi you lot! Just letting you all know that the vehicles have gone. -
Hi all! I recently purchased another Fire Station (7945) to add some extensions to the building. I thought this would be the easiest way to do it, other than buying the parts seperately. So, because of this, I have two fire vehicles for sale, namely the snorkel unit and run-around vehicle from 7945. Both are in the sealed bags they came in, including whatever minifigs and accessories are in them. I thought $AU35 is a fair price for them (postage is extra), or I will swap them for 1 x 7280 as well as 1 x 7281. (I need lots of road!! :-$ ) They're about the same monetry value, so I think that's fair! I do have a PayPal account so if you're buying from overseas, that's not a problem. I can send some pics of the bags upon request.

My vote's with this idea!! X-D Although the honorable mention would have to go to Batbrick's epic saga. You could make your own movie about this lot and then sell the merchandising rights to Lego!!! :-)

Got sets 5610, 5611 and 5613 today while shopping at K-Mart. I've got a fantastic wife!! *wub* They're only little, but they all build up quite nicely. Nice, welcome additions to my City!

My Dad assured me not that long ago that the first set bought for me was 361 - Garage, followed shortly by 675 - Snack bar (in the same link). I also remember 379 - Bus Stop and 381 - Police Station. They're all still assembled at my parent's place, along with a heap of other sets, waiting for the grandkids to play with. Another awesome set that was most probably my favourite was 6382 - Fire Station. I really loved this one. These days, I think my favourite set would be 7945 - Fire Station. Seems to a reacurring theme here.... X-D I was bought back from the wilderness a couple of years ago with set 7891. Since then, I've been buying every City product I can get my hands on. Mostly the collection has focused on Fire products, but I've also got a good Police force, EMS team as well as general buildings and vehicles to build up my City. After all, my ARFF truck has to have a city to belong to! My brother and all my sister's had great fun with our Lego collection. Ah, the memories!! *sweet*

Thanks for the review! I was always going to get these two sets, so you haven't swayed me at all!! X-D I reckon Lego could enhance this sub-theme by releasing a post motorbike (with or without a sidecar) and post office. Obviouly the office would be the hub of all the activity, while the post bike would take care of the postal run. This would free up the van to take or recieve bulk mail or parcels to or from the airport. It could then also do the parcel deliveries around the city. The office would also serve as the reciever for all the parcels the new goods truck might deliver. Just some thoughts, that's all!! *sweet*

Hi all! I finally broke down my set and washed it yesterday and reassembled it last night. Although it looks a treat, it doesn't work any better. Oh well, it's obviously a design error. I might put a little bit of baby powder around the contact points around the fork mechanism and see what happens. Thanks all for your suggestions and help.

That new coastguard ship looks quite nice, but as with the creator vehicle ferry, I don't think I'll be getting either as I don't have a waterfront for my City. I must say that the creative juices at Lego have certainly been flowing!! *y* Cool creations ON!! X-D
-
That ship is really, really cool! Love the vehicle that comes with it!! Unfortunately, I don't think this will tie in with my city planning as I don't have a waterfront and wasn't planning on one either, but you never know... :-)
-
I'm thinking of a tow truck and also a semi-trailer that carries petrol to tie in with the current service station.
-
Awesome review!! I was always getting this set, but the review has definately confirmed it!! :-D Cargo truck ON!! X-D

Holy snapping duck s*@t!!!!! 8-

I concur... X-D really nice work!!

Even though I'm not a train fan, this model looks quite nice! *sweet* Well done!! I'm sure plenty of train fans would love this!!

V-LF-1C Hi all! Here are my latest efforts, MOCing the Ladder Platform truck from 7945 and the Ladder Truck (7239) to a Frieghtliner Telesquirt, as used by the Country Fire Authority, or CFA, in Victoria, Australia. I would like to take this opportunity to thank PaulC and the_gamer for inspiring me for these mods. You can see their work here and here. Anyway, first up, a front-on shot, showing I can transport a complete crew in each truck. Next, a look at how I'm holding on the grille. Finally, a look at the interior for the Ladder Platform. As you can see, this was a simple MOC. Next up, my MOC'd 7239. First up is a side shot, showing the longer hose, the skinnier column behind the door and a bit of the block work surrounding the cab. Next up is a shot of the cab's interior. You can see here that I've moved the front axle forwrd to accomodate the work. Here we're having a look at the extra blocks used in the front of the cab. I've added this plate along the bottom to help stiffen everything up and stop the flexing. Here is a simple mod; changing the bricks from yellow to white. They give you one white technic brick to help hold the ladder up, I don't know why Lego simply didn't add another two white to the kit. Also the 1x2 plates holding the ladder up were changed from red to dark bluish grey. I also found a use for that odd locker - it now holds a rescue chain! Finally, one of our brave firefighter's checking the nozzle position! Just for comparision, here's Frankston's Telesquirt in action at a factory fire. All comments are welcome!
