  1. Nice artwork! I particularly like the knight in black. The texture on the falls and moon look nice. If I were to offer a suggestion, I think the whole scene would look even better if you had a full Lego sky built. The drawn in sky is OK, but in my opinion detracts somewhat from the rest of the awesome brick built scene.
  2. Outstanding! I wish TLG would sell this as a set! Love the big demon guy and the idea of bleachers. Nice story with it!
  3. Nice work. Very colorful, and seems accurate to some of the original temples.
  4. Nice micro! I like the avoidance of copyright with 'Jelsa'!
  5. Awesome! I really like the builds illustrating the story. The dark color palette work well, and the logs are placed very well for a somewhat haphazard placement of utility, going well with the small tower that would give just enough height for a strategic advantage. Everyone loves huge walls, and while they were built, many lower, more quickly built walls were used for simple defensive advantage, which looks great here. I assume that you are not showing the gate in these pictures? The last build may be my favorite with all the dark foliage. Great job and I can't wait for more of the story!
  6. Nice little micro! The rockwork is quite nice.
  7. Wow! What a great build, and fantastic to see Oxenfurt progress on HSS! I love the vegetation. It is very natural and you have a good sense of color in the flowers. The Tudo styling on the house looks great, and I like the door you built. The uneven ground looks awesome outside. Did you not press the pieces down all the way or did you use a net technique? The chicken coop on the side is a great detail, too. Well done!
  8. What a great build! It reminds me of when Tyrion enters old Valyrio in GoT. The arch is splendid, and I love the foliage hanging down. The tattered sail is perfect, and you have a nice shoreline. The dark pictures up top set a mood, and I'm glad you included the overall lit shot because it's all worth seeing! Nice work!
  9. Nice work! I like the perspective, and the lighting is fantastic. I love the street detail with the guy sitting on the cloth, and the plant growing in the crack. The bundle of olive and pink plant on the arch looks great and very Kaliphlini. Nice wall texture: subtle, but detailed. Keep up the good work!
  10. Gorgeous! The lighting is great through the windows, as others have said, and I love the patterned stone floor and walls. The bookshelves look great with the books and trophies and I like the details such as the blue flags in the corner. You have a real eye for color and the minis are perfect. The vines outside remind me of many of your Mitgardian builds and are great. I like that you detailed the outside of the build even though it would not be seen normally. Creative use of those blue helicopter blades as tapestries as well. The flowers between the benches look good. A great build and I'm interested to see where this story goes!
  11. Wow! Love it! You've really brought a creative twist to the minis! I like how you are tasteful but still bring in the realism of the period. I remember seeing medieval torture devices precisely like these in museums. I like how you have thrown in a few fantastical ones too like the shrinking. I'm not sure if the tickle torture or Raavage's chair is my favorite. I think the chair has some phenomenal posing. The wheel is great too, with some nice angles on the legs. One question: is the slicing guy supposed to be tied up? It seems like he'd just fight if he could. Nice use of the feathers to represent stinging insects. I like how you have some from each guild, too. Great work!
  12. Nice job! The mirror is subtle but adds depth. I like how you have colors accenting the build yet still maintain the tans of Kali.
  13. I didn't have a dark ages until I went to college and lived in a dorm. I didn't bring any Lego with me since I didn't trust that it wouldn't get stolen or broken, and I had no money. I would still get a lego set or two at the holidays, but that was it, and I missed out on some of the best stuff, including Vikings and the Fantasy Era for castle. In grad school I had the same problem: no time, no money, and didn't live in an area where I trusted the crime (and I had my place burglarized, so it was a good choice). I finally got back into Lego after I got a job, but wish there was a way I could have not had a dark ages!
  14. Thanks! I am glad it came out polished. It got torn down a few times first! The kiln was a challenge. I had to experiment a bit, but finally used a method for Innovalug to do the curved part. It's not perfect, but I think it works pretty well. Getting all the parts to fit together was interesting too!
  15. Great work! I love the build. The lighting is awesome, and I love how you have incorporated very realistic medieval feature (such as wooden butresses on stone corbels) and still keep the fantasy elements with dwarves, elves, and dragons. I think it helps make everything more believable. I like the story too, which is fun and develops Gahlen a bit. I am missing Gahlen being the center of attention in the photos. It might help the story to have one of just him toiling away. I really like the detail in the orchard and the depth to which you have layered the composition to get a feeling of the indoor/outdoor space. You have a good eye for photography and depth of field. The cast steel is great, and the barn style track door is a fun feature. You have a lot of good detail with the chains, etc. that help make this feel very life-like. I also like your mixing of the LG and LBG, and the fact that you have not added a lot of DBG and other 'off' colors to break up the stone. I am curious how old Druidham is. If it is supposed to be older, you could add a bit more texture to the walls, even keeping them all LBG/LG to show some wear, as the forge and walls are pretty smooth and square. On the other hand, if this is supposed to be new, or you have a story reason for the dwarves keeping the forge in perfect shape, then that's another thing all together. The use of the big, unusual slopes at the top of the forge is creative, and that floor looks good (but must have been a pain to line up!). Lots of nice attention to detail in the stone arches (forge, windows). Really beautiful, and I hope to read more of the story soon! Oh, and are we going to see all of these builds put together for Druidham at some point or do you tear them down after the photoshoot? I'd love to see them all in one place!
  16. Nice work! I like the story, and the build to fit it. The sunset is a great idea. If you set the depth of field differently on the camera, you can get the sunset out of focus a bit and make it blend together more like a regular sunset if you want to play with it in the future, although the lighting on it is good. I like how you have the table askew in the last picture, and how you have positioned the minis in a life-like pose. Nice job color blocking the plants. Can't wait for more!
  17. Congrats to the winners and everyone! Nice work all around!
  18. Woo hoo! On the map! Thanks @Henjin_Quilones! Can't wait to see Druidham on there next!
  19. What a fantastic idea! Love it! All the guilds with their colors represented looks great! Don't forget to put a link in the free builds!
  20. You've done a great job here! I love the lighting. It's hard to convey a real forest in Lego, and you did a great job with all the shadows. The deer looks perfect. You have done a great job creating the texture needed to show the level of detail in the foliage, and have some creative piece usage for the flowers. Well done!
  21. I had 4 outstanding orders since May 31. The two orders that shipped May 31 and June 1 are still hung up in customs. The orders that shipped June 3 and 7 sailed right through customs and I received last week. It's a little crazy how random customs is here.
  22. Ha ha ha! As @Henjin_Quilones says, this is hilarious! I love the metagaming aspect to the build, and it seems exactly like the kind of thing Conrad would do. The build is great, and I love the boxes on their sides for voting boxes. The pile of ballots on the back table spilling onto the floor is perfect. Well done!
  23. My order with the monkeys and cubs was placed June 1. I placed an order for lion adults and sheep June 3. I have the second order, but not yet the first. I think it depends on what gets hung up in customs.
  24. I usually enjoy sorting, but for really big sorts, I tend to do it in stages: I first do a very fast sort of the really big stuff, like huge plates and big bricks. Then I go back through the pile to grab minis, animals, etc. Then I pull all the browns, greens, and greys (I build mostly castle). That cleans everything up quickly and I then am able to do a part sorting and clean up by part type. It seems like more work, but I find it goes faster because you can focus on only one thing at a time. Hope this helps!
  25. Thanks! It was a tough squeeze to put it all in! I only see one wall near the kiln that is somewhat bare. I could probably put a shield there, but I tried to be practical: tools or a lantern would not be reachable there, so it would be a largely bare wall. I thought about tapestries, but settled for the flags, so they didn't cover as much wall. Thank you! I was happy with how the roof came out. I'm glad you liked the story explanation, I wasn't sure how that would turn out. I think the LBG vs. LG can be problematic, but if there's enough texture and a large enough surface it can turn out alright, so I'm happy to hear it wasn't too noticable! I figured since this is the main income of the castle that I should make it more ornamental than the utilitarian forge and had some fun with the columns and the stone decoration above the door. It's good to hear that you like the landscaping too. It will be interesting to see how it fits together with the rest of the builds in the inner ward once I get it all done.
