  1. I don’t know, if it sold that poorly why would they do this series? That series was from a tongue-in-cheek look at the franchise, this is more grounded. Well, as grounded as having an alien, a man wielding alien tech, a teenager wielding a cosmic rod, and the victim of an assassination attempt involving a meteor I’m just being greedy but would have liked more, I’ll live with it.
  2. Thousands of DC characters and they plump for 16? I just hope this isn’t a one and done series.
  3. I would like to see any Atom, but Ray Palmer for his history, partnership with Hawkman and my general Silver Age interest, with a microfig of him a la Ant Man, would be great. I like this game, it’s interesting seeing what people want and it’s keeping my nerd self sated until they come out for real. For the first time I might have to buy a full box. We will see.
  4. I would be so happy to see B’Wana. I don’t know, a 1x1 tile with cigarette packet decoration is possible
  5. ‘It’s mighty frustrating. Hopefully this series will address this. I think Mr Nobody should be achievable, the only solid colour parts would need to be hips and hands. What would be nice is if they were brave enough and bold enough to introduce members of teams that would be completed in later sets.
  6. I would argue against most CMF fitting into a real world setting. From Zombie and Robot in the first series to space bounty hunter and Monkey from the latest series. I would include the dog poo picker when discussing obscure professions. We have the first two Earth Lanterns, and the third of those three first appeared in 1969. I would wager a greater percentage of Lego fans - and possibly even DC fans - aren’t that old. By that logic we should have had the Clock before Batman. As has been mentioned already, Metamorpho is part of the Terrifics team, which is an ongoing series. He also featured in the Justice League and Brave and the Bold cartoons among others. If I hadn’t have looked them up, I wouldn’t have known a number of the HP line - which largely consisted of variants of existing characters anyway - including most of the FB section. It’s all relative. I’m hyped for this series, others are too, others not so much. That’s the joy of the hobby. If it brings in new Lego fans or new DC or comic book fans, I’m happy.
  7. We’ve known about the series for a while, some of the figures have been leaked this weekend, though. It’s due in January.
  8. https://images.app.goo.gl/rHfkmui1Zfxb5eUA7 From Doom Patrol. There’s a part of Salvation Run where it got rather bittersweet when Gorilla Grodd took umbrage with Mallah comparing himself to Grodd, having suggested the two team up. Grodd goes to kill Mallah, but the Brain intervenes and pleads him to reconsider. Grodd does reconsider; he picks up Brain and uses him to batter Mallah to death. This in turn kills Brain, who dies happy as he and Mallah can truly be together. So for equality and testing preconceived notions of evil, yes, I would like to see the Brain and ideally Mallah too.
  9. Fair enough, I’d be on board with that. The Brain is in a committed relationship with Monsieur Mallah. Has been for some time now.
  10. I wouldn’t worry about it, but it’s there for future reference and right now it’s just as relevant as this one To me Lego have this covered. I mean as long as they put out 16-20 vibrant and different figs - which is certainly plausible given DC’s roster - then kids will be happy. Like with HP, Disney and the Simpsons there will be those who know all, some or none. They should be able to please all of the ones who are proper little fans like I was, a decent number of casual fans and a reasonable number of non-fans. Then there are those who will want them because they collect them regardless, in which case if we’re lucky a few new fans will be born. And then there will be families like mine that will want a set for the collection and another for play. The part that really matters is the financial aspect, and how we’re all doing in January.
  11. That show worked so well in a way that would have looked forced if done with Justice League, as well as upping the collective profile of DCs past characters. I think that there’s also confusion between “obscure” and “old”, or “lesser-known”. I’m liking how our GLs have all arrived in different ways; a regular set, a BYOA book, a polybag with DVD, and now a CMF. Lego need something outrageous for Gardner and Rayner.
  12. Have a look down the list of topics, the wish list thread is around somewhere.
  13. Baz has been around since 2012. He’s a Lebanese-American Muslim. The mask is because he was a wanted man when he got Sinestro’s ring. In defence of his uniform, Guy Gardner has had his iconic look for longer than he had his traditional one. I’d rather they showed a bit of personality in their uniform, seeing as they are ring constructs. That and it must have been boring as hell to basically keep drawing the same torso with different heads. And it keeps them identifiable in big battle sequences.
  14. Loving how tied #9 is. I would argue that the Brain wouldn’t really be done justice as a minifigure, more a mold like the Alien Queen from CMF combined with the skeleton characters from Ninjago on a small build. But hey, LGBT+ villain brains don’t get much representation anyway.
  15. Ah, just yanking your chain, my man. To be honest this series is best case scenario for me because DC and Lego have always been in my life, and childhood me would have been so happy to see this come to fruition. True, OG/blue Sinestro wasn’t on any of my lists, but I’m still happy to see it. With him and Metamorpho, and SG and Baz it’s looking like a good mix of old and new. Should have said I’m grateful for the info, especially at this early stage, thank you.
  16. And his original outfit. The rest of the line must be pretty rubbish if I’m going to be disappointed with it. I’m happy with the current news. Three new faces, a variant and an actual lantern.
  17. There doesn’t seem to be any particular reason, but it’s all over the press release. Perhaps it’s because it’s a Saturday
  18. Well for those who haven’t got but still want the Batsuit from the latest Batcycle set, it looks like he’s coming in a DC magazine soon. If they keep that sort of thing up we may see Shazam this way
  19. I would say that average consumer is buying them, as Lego keeps making them. They might not be the best sellers, but they must be bringing in revenue for Lego to keep trying different things.
  20. On amazon you need the set number 75964 and Lego and you should find it on offer. Don’t put Harry Potter or advent calendar in.
  21. The criticism surrounding Ruby Rose and the Batwoman show annoys me greatly. I’m not going to get into it here for obvious reasons.
  22. I’d like inspired by characters in a comics style set. Especially Legends, there’s a good array of characters there, but the costume designs aren’t great.
  23. Not at all, there’s a wealth of characters to mine. Aqualad, Miss Martian, Lagoon Boy, Artemis, even more recent additions or members of The Light that have gained popularity.
