  1. I’ve finally found the side view of Jay Garrick and I’m really pleased to see the wings. Also the helmet looks good side on. Get on.
  2. I’m kind of glad that I’m not alone in wanting the GWP rather than the D2C, but I hope for Lego’s sake it sells well.
  3. I’m going to reserve my review reading until a legitimate reviewer gets them. I’m going to buy them anyway, but I’ll read a review
  4. Not only does it make sense regarding killing but also regarding the controversial helmet.
  5. That just looks like someone standing behind his decapitated horse. Different meaning to headless horseman!
  6. To me this is as much about the buying/selling things illegally as it is unfair to the other reviewers who either buy the product legitimately or are lucky enough to get it as a gift from the company. This way smacks of “look at me!” and little else.
  7. He said it’s the set names that are fake. The rumour of the theme still stands.
  8. Gandalf the pilgrim who is reborn, Aragorn the loner who becomes king, and Sam the companion whose love conquers all. All are Jesus allegories and not that subtle. And no, those legs aren’t going to be reused elsewhere, unless they decide that a goat-based centaur should be made
  9. @Clone OPatra I reckon this is the one
  10. Without heading off into the far distance with this tangent, most of the allegories in LoTR are centred around stand ins for Jesus. Narnia on the other hand makes use of other characters and symbolism. Their respective critical responses are as much to do with how they are viewed in secular society. Tolkien was Catholic but didn’t set out to write a religious story, instead conceding that he included faith in it. Lewis was a born-again Christian and this renewed faith reflected in his writings a lot more. TLDR: we - as a society - accept that Narnia is more religious than Middle Earth because we have been told to. I also believe that it would need some renewed Hollywood interest before TLG got involved.
  11. As nice as it sounds I don’t see Narnia getting the brick treatment given the religious undertone.
  12. Apologies, I managed to miss that one entirely. I can only guess that the license for Trolls was super cheap.
  13. There’s an awful lot of people who are very upset about something that they aren’t going to buy anyway. The other thing is that mould is not a centaur. It’s more like a llama in shape, as it is missing the entire part that makes it a centaur, ie a humanoid torso coming out of the other one.
  14. That’s a great looking build, but I’m going to pass on this because my focus is on minifigure scale. The Batman looks really good and is a very nice nod to the film counterpart by having a non-moving cowl and big cape. I like that we get Vicki Vale, even if this is the only way. I’ve always maintained my view of Nicholson Joker, so I will not miss having him. Don’t get me wrong, I would love this set but there’s no way I can justify it financially, spatially or contextually. If I can get the GWP set without having to buy this one I will be happy.
  15. You hit the nail on the head there
  16. You’re welcome. It’s surprising how many droids you have to discount before trawling through the various troopers
  17. Compared to most Marvel has a higher percentage of leg printing. Almost half (48%) of the regular Marvel non Con, non bigfig, non micro, non short legged, non skirt piece wearing minifigures have leg printing. Of DCs line in the same timeframe it’s closer to 41%, and that’s with TLBM taken into consideration. There’s no point counting Ninjago as it’s a house IP, Overwatch was a bold experiment, but currently that’s at 75% out of 12 possibles. Star Wars? From what I can make out, considering all regular figures as above, about 43% have leg printing. Now for that I am assuming that an awful lot are the same darn Stormtrooper over and over, but the same could be said for Iron Man. Marvel wins. I used Bricklink, for reference.
  18. Ok, another Golden Age character, but I don’t know if her inclusion is going to be enough of a sway. Depends on the whole I guess
  19. No need to apologise, my man. The fact that you guys are providing the information equals out a small mistake. I just wonder if some of the trans pieces are new, adding to the price hike. It sounds like a variation of the jumper plate is one of them. If anything is going to be annoying it’s my lack of patience between now and January
  20. Falconfan has posted the list with accessories and the fact that they come with display pieces
  21. You’ve got two regular members of the Justice Society of America right there, one a founder, the other a more recent addition. Mix it up with OG Batman and Wonder Woman and there’s three from the Golden Age, or Huntress for Bronze Age. From outside the CMF there’s Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Black Canary, Robin (as it was early days I guess Burt Ward Robin would work) and Shazam to join the ranks. Happy days. And he’s Batman’s biggest fan. It’s a really nicely done piece, too. I did react very childishly when I saw it. Ahem.
  22. Everyone in order of version appearance, not necessarily first Batman 1939, Detective Comics #27 Flash 1940, Flash Comics #1 Wonder Woman 1941, All Star Comics #8 Cheetah 1943, Wonder Woman #6 Bat-Mite 1959, Detective Comics #267 Sinestro 1961, Green Lantern Vol 2 #7 Metamorpho 1965, The Brave and the Bold #57 Mr Miracle 1971, Mr Miracle #1 Bumblebee 1976, Teen Titans #48 (as Bumblebee, the character first appeared in #45) Cyborg 1980, DC Comics Presents #26 Joker 1986, The Dark Knight Returns Aquaman (in particular this version) 1995, Aquaman Vol 5 #9 Stargirl 1999, Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0 Huntress 2011, Worlds’ Finest #1 Simon Baz 2012, New 52 Free Comic Book Day Edition Pre-Flashpoint Superman 2017, Action Comics #976 I’m keeping this as it is. Bat-Mite might resemble his LB3 iteration, but that was clearly based off his original look. Mr Miracle’s look has pretty much stayed the same from Kirby to King. Superman is more Rebirth than Reborn. I’m interested in what accessories are coming for those we haven’t seen, as well as the base plates. This series changes the dynamic of my display, as it helps round out teams and start new ones. I’ll admit I was off the mark with a lot of these, and hopefully we will see more of them in future as there are some glaring omissions and fan favourites still missing. Now all I have to do is wait, with the Batman set to consider in the meantime.
  23. Me. Love Jack Kirby’s run at DC, he spawned loads of characters and places including the entire Fourth World. I don’t care much for that Lex really, and surely if anyone was going to be made from that book it’s El Dragon. They can’t make the series all top tier characters if they want to sustain interest for future series, and I think putting another character that we have had before would not help that. I will definitely be buying the whole series, maybe even a whole box for the first time.
  24. Well I have to admit that the Superman works really well, and as much as I would have preferred an OG Joker over this one, he does look striking and different enough from the stream of existing Jokers. Roll on Bat-Mite.
