I refer you to my Friday rant. I’ve never been this annoyed about a wave before. Supporting the theme is important for me but these sets make Batman look less use than a member of Section 8. And I like Dogwelder.

It somewhat conforms to the Lego Batmobile shape, but good use of the Batcessories pack could really help. If it’s just the Batmobile then Joker will be caught pretty quick. Now if we get the Jokermobile...

Dang it, that’s a bust. Shazam a bit player crowbarred into a Batman set. It’s a bit of a crap day for Batman if he needs a Batwing, Gordon and Shazam to take down Riddler. The premise must be that he has a nasty case of trapped wind, cramp in his leg or a stitch, so he is in no position to tackle Riddler alone. Disappointed by that, I must say. The Freeze set sounds like a take on the first Aquaman set, but instead of a Superfriend Bats plumped for Robin. If the Batmobile is just Bats and Joker I may have to pass it up unless the build is worth it. A very Gotham Knights feel about the Batcave set, but again with Batman needing an army to take down Two-Face. Is age finally catching up with Bruce?

I like the original Alfred figure, to me he’s got that butler with a take-no-prisoners undertone nailed. I’m not overly fond of the bald cap and the bowtie, but he’s the only Alfred I have right now so he gets away with it.

Oh yeah I appreciate that, they carried a certain amount of bombast being the primary rogues, whereas the B, C and D listers got some pretty decent depictions. I use the Jokers hair for my regular one because I got bored of the widows peak and it works. Riddlers hair/hat I put in the parts drawer straight away and used the fig with the previous hat. Likewise Harley. Ivy I like, she’s such a dynamic figure she was too good to change. Bruce is the easiest one to MOC up, so I’m not fussed either way whether that ‘leak’ is real, as he just needs black hair, a face and a decent suit. Alfreds hairpiece came from the CMF didn’t it? I like Alfred but he’s in that exaggerated bracket some of the villains are in.

I don’t know, they’re doing quite a good job of ignoring everything from that other than Catwomans cowl. Didn’t realise the torso was a reuse though, not that into the JW theme.

It has been talked about in the main DC thread, but there’s little more than the speculation that it will be a Keaton Batmobile. I’m rather hoping that they do something like what they did for the Star Wars anniversary sets, but with classic versions of various characters rather than retrospective remakes.

Is there any truth about that supposed Bruce Wayne fig with the checked jacket and the same hair he’s had forever?

I am quite envious of your Batgarage. Do you keep them assembled or do they get recycled? I imagine a vehicle line up of your MOCs would be impressive.

I like the Two-Face head. I’m not sure the hair/head mould is to my liking (assuming they use the game design). This could be a contender for me to be my favourite Harvey. He’s got to be good to top Billy Dee. The Joker is a nice change of pace for the torso, and I know that it is based on the game but a new head wouldn’t go unwelcomed. The Riddler fig for me is all good barring the head. The dreaded sideburns don’t do it for me, and the visible eyes under the mask looks out of place compared to all the other masked characters who just have the comic book plain white eyes.

Yeah, Issue 1 with Batman is out now in UK, issue 2 is out in May I think. If I could find the comic I’ll clarify. Issue 3 has Supes. Now to find these figs...

Oh crikey, I’m not doubting your or Random Blockers info at this point. @TheRandomBlocker but doesn’t it strike you as odd that besides the Hagrid hut, which looks like it should and not dissimilar to the mistaken MOC touted on here a lot, the other sketches are terrible/vague? Whereas the clock tower looks remarkably like what you described to LDDproductions.

I’m going to be incredibly cynical here, but it looks like someone badly copied @LDDproductions draught. It turned up remarkably soon after, and the likeness is, ahem, uncanny. Happy to be proved wrong, but it smells a bit like rat to me.

Either way we get another new head print, recoloured hair piece and a new torso print. DC must have a cheaper rate than Marvel...

Agreed on the face, it’s a change from the usual half smile, stern look or smirk. And the hair is different enough. Is another Arkham coming I wonder, or a prison wagon escape type scenario? I really don’t want another Harley exclusively in a large set. Is it a custom? It doesn’t match the two previous jumpsuits.

I’m glad they silvered her goggles, it really completes the look. Agreed that it’s the best yet. Also out there is the new Shazam now with a white hood and showing his alternate face (can’t remember if that got leaked at the same time as the main fig).

I do wonder if they kept future Catwoman figs in mind when they made the TLBM cowl, as it has the goggles moulded on already. I am coming round to this wave, I must say.

Always this. Lego didn’t have to revive the theme. They could have taken the safe option and left a theme based around a film/book series within the timeframe it all came out in. But they twigged that the kids who read the books and bought the sets the first time round are now probably parents and/or in possession of disposable income. For that I know I am grateful. The figures of 2019 are strides better than the first waves, and the sets will be more affordable to obtain than the originals in as new condition. I don’t get this concept of boycotting the entire wave of the theme because a face isn’t acceptable. It’s Lego; use a different head. That’s the joy of it. Such vitriol is unwarranted.

That’s the thing, I currently have TLBM torso with the previous hat/head combo. Not sure how this one will blend in but sometimes the things look better in hand.

I’m glad I don’t collect Marvel sets, as I would be pretty cheesed at this point.

The new Catwoman head continues what I hope is a new trend of helmeted heads being usable without said helmet. An updated Batsuit is ok but a different version altogether would be preferable.

Three figures hopefully means three main characters and not padding. I’m sure it’s going to be Billy and either Sivana or Adam, depending on what it’s based on, as two villains would be too good to be true.
