DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
RedHoodPug replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
It looks that way online, but without going into the attic to get Nightwing I couldn’t comment on the physical comparison. Maybe I should pop up... ...or look in the right place hold fire on the arm-popping @Gorilla94, @Duncan Young is right, Nightwing v3 is lighter blue. I suspect it would work with Nightwing v1. Apologies. -

Bricklink puts both Nightwing and Sinestro as having Blue ie no.7, neither being prefixed with azure or medium, etc. They look the same, I’d be happy. -

Damn @Tusserte that’s going to make things a sight easier. It’s what put me off using B&P. Thank you for that. -

Anyone in the UK with a spare £150 kicking around might want to look at WHSmiths online. According to Bricksfanz they’ve knocked £60 off the price of a box of minifigures. -

Currently have Metamorpho, Bumblebee flying backwards and blasting, Cyborg, Sinestro flying, Wonder Woman jumping, Flash running as fast as his neck bracket allows, Mr Miracle, Huntress and Bat-Mite at a jaunty angle. Bat-Mite is my favourite right now, his whole costume and the meta tile really work well together. His legs prevent decent posing with the stand, but if any of them should be abstract it’s Bat-Mite. -

They didn’t stick with the moulds because it was a separate, somewhat meta universe, and while some characters fit in well others are a little too over the top. Don’t get me wrong, I had an absolute field day when the sets came out, but I appreciate that they threw the kitchen sink at that theme. I would however disagree with you on the quality of the CMF, I’ve been teasing them out so my son doesn’t explode and get bored too quickly, but what I have seen so far has just been excellent. I may just be in my nostalgic honeymoon for them, but seeing Metamorpho, Huntress and 90s Aquaman in minifigure form was a good moment. They are better than the ones from the recent sets, to the point where Shazam looks underdressed next to them. -

If you can wait another five hours I’ll let you know @Guyon2002 to be fair that happens to me when I run at super speed. It’s why I stopped. -

My local Toymaster sorts the figures, and they seemed to have more Aquaman than any of the others. Going through them slowly but so far with Huntress and Garrick I’m really pleased with the quality. I would say that he doesn’t need the neck bracket or lightning bolts if he’s going to run fast; ironically they hamper his arm movements. -
As always with your MOCs this is a brilliant rendition. I have soft spot for the 50s Batmobile, so I look forward to seeing your take on that one.

DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Eh, that would still be done with a fresh or at least slightly but noticeably different backdrop a la Simpsons or Disney. As I said I have no issue with the concept, it’s putting wish lists into a visual medium and they are always done really well, better than I could do. I would argue however that the exact same backdrop, the Lego logo, the DC logo, the small print and some very obvious silhouettes of known DC characters warrant more than 3-4 seconds to ascertain the legitimacy. Hence why I asked in the first place. -
Damn, people need to know the difference between rumour and speculation.

It’s not that tenuous though, is it? There are fewer links in the chain than you are insinuating, and they are more plausible than you suggest. Lego are genuinely in negotiations with Universal, who own Illumination. We know Minions 2: The Rise of Gru sets are coming, it’s been officially announced. The question was asked what IPs do Universal own, and several examples were provided, some we have already seen which creates plausibility. Through Dimensions we saw Sonic and a few others and through Blizzard we saw Overwatch, which sets a precedent for video game-based themes. I don’t understand why it is rankling you so, it is after all a rumour. Angry Birds 2 has come and gone, without a set in sight.

I don’t disagree that it’s well done, but to me if Ashnflash has that talent - and he clearly does - he could create his own look. Might just be me missing the point. -

No worries Hey @Falconfan1414 is that sheet on your IG legit please? -
The unnecessary ire aside, there is some plausibility to this rumour. Illumination is owned by Universal, and Universal recently entered talks with Lego to make films together. It might not be a Lego-based film, but the contract is almost there and is likely to extend into 2022 and beyond. As rumours go it’s better than a hell of a lot of them.

Lego, Forbidden Planet, couple of others. The important thing is that my local Toymaster has advertised that they will have them ready sorted by the weekend, which means that I can get a set and the duplicates I want. -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Meh, politics have been in kid’s books, TV shows and films for a long time. Fairy tales are political, Disney films, comics, comic books, plays, basically anything with a message. My son is 6 and he knows who our prime minister is, he’s obsessed with Horrible Histories and Star Wars. When school starts again I have a feeling that they will bring up Australia, which is in the midsts of an absolutely horrific disaster with massive political undertones. It’s hard to do myself because of how destructive it is, but I will support them when they do. In the 21st Century you can’t escape politics, unless you live in a yurt. And even then the reason for that will be a political one. -

It might be a coincidence, but it ties in with something we were talking about in another thread about the new film deal with Universal.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Madagascar, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs Aliens, How to Train Your Dragon, Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets, Trolls, Jurassic World, Minions, Fast/Furious, Dr. Seuss, Back to the Future. I would say it’s going to be okay. Some of these properties we have already had, others are coming out soon. Some would be quite welcome, I feel.
