The X-Men set already ties in with the movie getting released in the same month "Days of Future Past". Only cartoon that is planned is a Guardians of the Galaxy one. I am not even sure if they have the rights for X-Men cartoons. Lego for sure is in a pretty weird position. On one hand the X-Men are a recognizable franchise with years worth of characters they could adapt into sets but on the other hand they don´t have a license for the Fox movies and there is no other media project they could use as a springboard for sets. There would be more X-Men sets with a cartoon but I doubt they are waiting for one.- 9,756 replies

The Minifigs cost 3,99$. Is that only for this line for the special way they made the multicolored arms and legs or is that now the price for all CMF lines? -
Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Why would you want a minifigure of a 14 meter giant robot? That would be totally useless. Really hope that we still get a Marvel D2C X-Mansion with Sentinel and some other new characters. There are quite a few figs you could do with the existing pieces, the game alone has at least 5. Just make the Mansion in style of Arkham Breakout, put ≈10 figs in there with a Sentinel or two and done. If not I hope the Black Bird comes with a masked Wolverine. The March, May and April sets from the last years were already not there or were in some super secret section from which only came crappy pics and descriptions of people. Wouldn´t be surprised if there weren´t any August sets at all. And nobody cares about London, they don´t allow pics. New York is from 16 - 19 February, the only relevant Fair. 5 seats tops, probably less but that´s depending on the fig count. All in one line behind each other with a wall between the cockpit that has one or two seats and the rest of the ship. The Quinjet already had no interior, this will be worse considering the lower pricepoint and scale.- 9,756 replies

I am pretty sure there were also some blister packages in the 80s/90s. At least a box with a transparent window. The exact nature of licenses is different with each licensor and the product being sold. In a completely righteous world minifigs would be classified as figurines on the same level as joint less 2cm "statues" that you get in gumball machines. 4 joints plus head and hands isn´t exactly ACTION. If Hasbro wouldn´t be so overprotective of their license there would be no problem. Fox probably doesn´t even make distinctions like action figures and building toys. I don´t know exactly about Simpsons toys but there are at least 3 different kinds of figures from varying manufacturers with varying levels of movement. _ To get back to the main topic: It was always a mixed bag for me. Star Wars was my main line and while I got multiple sets mainly for characters the vehicles still played large roles if the set cost more than 20. In the beginning when I was around 5 I also only got small sets with barely anything to build with so of course the main aspect of a set like 6094 http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6094-1 always were the minifigs. Also interesting to note: I live in Germany and apparently action figures don´t sell that well over here which is why they are barely available. They had a wave of figures during the release of Star Wars episode 1 in my supermarket and a small rack from 2003 to 2005 in a bigger store with a crappy selection between a handful of characters that barely changed. It either meant only playing with Bespin Luke and Vader as the only TESB characters or getting 10123 Cloud City with Vader, Luke, the rest of the maincast from that sequence AND a very good scenery with play functions. Getting an army of stormtroopers through 14€ sets with 4 figs each is also much cheaper than 10 to 12 per actionfigure, assuming you even find stormtroopers so even when getting the special LEGO figs only from Ebay with some mark-up was still cheaper than buying anything else. The only real alternative were paper cutouts.

I am not counting on any Nolanman sets at all. Maybe in 20 years in some super special retro edition but even that would honestly surprise me. Looking at all the tie-in film/show stuff and New52 pushing we will probably never get a chance on older versions of costumes except for X-Men because they don´t have the Fox license and even then LEGO could buy the license with no problems or the rights will revert back to Marvel. Of course they could choose any time. But they won´t. Just like how they could have chosen to do a Zombie Pub set based on a 10 year old movie. They could have done that but they chose not to and they could still choose to do it but they won´t. Because they don´t want to because of some stupid reason like it wouldn´t sell enough or nobody cares when there are enough collectors that buy every set to at least buy up the initial production run and people obviously care about the best DC movie in nearly two decades.- 9,756 replies

Problem is they don´t do that. Instead of giving us a black TDKR Batman we got a dark grey one because the black one was exclusive and the rest of the figs like Shazam don´t even get released. Azog is from Hobbit so they probably have a different agreement. And seeing how he uses two new molds only made for him nobody should have expected him to stay exclusive. Green Lantern from SDCC is still exclusive, but seeing how he is 2011 movie version they would go for a different design anyway. Venom and Black Spidey are two different characters, so it´s more like Venom got the same torso as the exclusive fig and not "just a different head print". With Phoenix I think they could just go without boot printing, that´s only for CMFs anyway but in the worst case we will just get that yellow bodysuit with a blue line she had in the 90s cartoon/Lego game.- 9,756 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Do we know if the UCS AT-AT is a thing that´s happening? Was it ever happening to begin with? I don´t remember anybody mentioning UCS AT-AT except me and with a regular AT getting released it may not happen for at least further 3 years. The 2 Question Mark new figures are probably from the SW: Rebels sets. We only know that there is a ragtag bunch of misfits and Darth Edgy, they probably don´t want their character designs to leak through LEGO sets. No. UK at most if this is the 2014 equivalent of shirtless Maul but I bet it´s going to be the May4th fig of this year seeing how useless this fig is. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would sell it. Prices for figs don´t go down by much even when it is a huge step forward like with Ewoks and Jango Fett but the new one sounds like a huge improvement. Far larger build and probably much better designs for the junk droids seeing how many new parts were released since 2005 that could be helpful. R5 alone with the no-effort unprinted dome plus tan 2x2 plate will get the new astromech head with ultra detailed printing. If you like the vehicle just sell the old version (goes for 120 to 180€/Pound with figs or 60 to 80 without on Ebay) and put the money forward to the improved version. I did the same with the Laaty last year and feels good. -
I am also positive that LEGO wants to branch out a little seeing how all new sets paired Batman with somebody else. The same source of the GL rumor also talked about multiple X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy sets and I don´t think LEGO can just keep on putting the other four villains from 2012 in sets with rehashes of the same sidekicks we get in January. The DC line probably gets some more heroes to pair up with Batman and some old villains and maybe we get another set with Superman and Wonder Woman since the Lex mecha suit is going out of production around now and they are also in that movie. I bet on at least the rest of the New 52 main Justice League getting figs this year in keeping with that weird New52 push. So that means Hal Jordan, Cyborg and maybe new costume versions of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
No no no, that´s just a bit too harsh. He is pretty crap because he is basically identical to the other two bat people from CMF and Monster Fighters save for colors and exact printing and is essentially a useless release if you have one of those. But I would say Riddler takes the cake since he never wore the costume they gave him, is a mess made up of two or three greens but could have been an awesome fig since they bothered to make a green bowler hat which ends up useless since no fig uses the new slimey green color right now and makes even kitbashing impossible. New 52 isn´t the problem, it was just a reboot of their comics universe which Marvel and DC do all the time. The problem is that they want to change so much stuff in one go and force it down peoples throats without regard, even outside of the comics. Cyborg getting crammed into LEGO Batman 2, all those New 52 outfits in the LEGO sets and a Damian Wayne fig in a set. I really can´t understand this. Damian Wayne… man. I read all the time that these sets are for kids. So have you shown your children your TPB of Death of the Family yet? No? Yeah, I thought so. He should have been a Comic-Con exclusive if anything and given a real hero like Green Arrow or Captain Marvel a spot on the Steamroller set. This is just the blunder of the century and I really hope they change their game in the next wave, this way I either buy only the Penguin set and maybe the Flash/Batgirl headgears alone or hope for a CMF line where they can release better designs than those "random lines everywhere" costumes. But colleague, Cyborg will definitely get a release since he is on the Justice League. : ] When the "Green Lantern is in a summer set" rumor is legit the next wave probably ends up giving us some more New 52 style JL members like Hal Jordan, Cyborg, Wonder Woman and maybe Superman (he isn´t really necessary when MOS Supes is also practically identical). Also: New NinjaGo figure this year: http://i1.ytimg.com/...xresdefault.jpg Nu52 Cyborg: http://static.comicv...3935-cyborg.png Close enough for LEGO, I guess. It´s this way since 2012, it´s just that now all figs are atrocious instead of just a few.- 9,756 replies

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
We had prelim pics of the 3 Spidey sets and very accurate drawings of the 2 Avengers ones. Also everything except for the laboratory and the rumored darkblue Spidey is in the LEGO Marvel game in its final design, we would just need somebody with the game on PC to make some decent screenshots. Movie figures = cartoon figures Red and white Falcon is as useful to make a movie Falcon than a Spongebob minifig. Well, DCs first wave had the Batcave with Comic Bane and we got Nolanman v.s. Big Guy six months after the movies release anyway, so that doesn´t mean anything except that the Cap 2 set has a greater possibility for an at least decent design. Hydra tank is a 6x16 plate on 18 wheels with a turnable 6X4 plate on top and flickfiremissiles/olive slopes randomly slapped on it. Laboratory is just a tube tower thingy like in the Helicarrier and USM Doc Ocks lab plus a wall that breaks apart if you press a button. I would have gladly payed full price for that Shield APC from the game or even more pick up trucks, they at least have actual thought put into them instead of this lazy stuff that looks exactly like what a kid would build out of its own collection of random parts. I doubt we will get anything ever from LEGO that you proposed. Laboratories all look the same regardless of who they are from, Hydras stuff would either be identical to what LEGO has already released for Shield or a lazy bucket of parts like the 2014 Hydra tank and don´t even imply LEGO will ever do Asgard sets, let alone good ones. With that much gold either the bigger pieces would break in a few years like 2002 Super Battle Droids or we get dark tan builds with golden 1x1 studs scattered across with no sense for aesthetic. They failed, brick built Modok would have been superior (and accurate). That NinjaGo scarf looks 1:1 like the scarf of Winter Soldier and many figs from the LEGO Movie sets and NinjaGo also use metallic arms. Either we get a set with Winter Soldier later this year or he will be a promo fig. And even if that doesn´t happen (which I assure you 100% it will) you still can moc him yourself when you buy the aforementioned sets. I would have bought that for full price on S@H and payed shipping. Man, that Hydra tank just screams zero effort it´s really sad just to look at it. Only good thing about that set is the classic style Hydra goon.- 9,756 replies

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
As far as I remember LEGO never had problems with printing on the primary colors like normal blue as long as it´s not white, so that Cap is probably going to be fine with the face at least. No. We get the Hydra tank. The better design of the Shield tank compared to the simplicity of a bed on 8 wheels with a swivel platform should have tipped you off. Video of the tank in the game (tank actually appears at exactly 1:21 mins): To be exact, everything from the 5 Marvel sets is in the game except for the model of the laboratory, the Bank truck Spidey and the Hulk (supposing he differs from the 2012 set). It´s sad that nobody could just take screenshots of the stuff, it´s easy to spot vehicles created for the game and those that are sets The minifigs are also self-explanatory. Electro has the flying lightning platform, the lightning is blue/purple not yellow like some here hoped. Bank Truck looks much better than in that one prelim pic. First time I looked at the pic it reminded me of the 2002 ambulance from that Spider-Man 2 set. Too much air under the truck, wheels too big, front feels tacked on but it looks good in the game. Has some letter box cases on the back. Hydra Soldier looks identical to the comics just with dark green arms and legs instead of regular green. Red Skull is fine, belt a bit too big IMO. Not happy about the "tank". Nice for the olive parts but the design is comparable to what a six year old would build with his current collection. The toys of Thor 1 didn´t sell, that´s why. But probably because Hasbro mostly just did Thor figs with different accessories and poses, forgetting that no kid wants 10 action figures of the same guy that all pose like crap. Wanting some non-movie sets doesn´t mean we want only non-movie sets. They need to find a balance and swing from one extreme to another. The biggest problem was that Iron Man 3 got 3 sets that had barely anything to do with the actual movie, not even the figs added up, let alone the builds (even though I really like the flamethrower buggy). They just should make one set per movie with the most essential characters of the film (for Thor/IM/Cap, GOTG and Avengers 1 and 2 have to have a larger line). IM3 with only the Malibu Mansion minus Extremis soldier plus Killian would have been perfectly acceptable for IM3. Also, we don´t know anything about the X-Men sets except that we get 2 or more. And I don´t think the villains are that much better. Still too obscure for my taste with Modok, Taskmaster and mutated Mass Effect spacesuit Big Guy. Some of the bigger names are still needed, but they are getting there with Red Skull and real Ock.- 9,756 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don´t understand. The BPs have the problem of using existing vehicles instead of made up ones. The made up ones always housed two figures with two or three others walking beside the vehicle. The ISP only houses one trooper with the rest walking aimlessly (one even without a weapon) around, the artillery is just there with one guy manning it and the rest running totally excited into its line of fire and the Octoputtarawamama droid has just four guys coming from all possible angles. But crappy box pics don´t put them lower since these are the best BP vehicles for a long time. -

Game preorder article. Around longer than the Preorder window. Already ≈ 4 rumors for actors appearing in that film. Also news: Ben Affleck will put on a body suit that makes him look like 65 and Dick Grayson Robin exists at the same time as Nightwing. Set has Hulk in the title. Doesn´t include Hulk. China selling LEGO products in wrong colors. Not expecting a bootleg made in an unrelated factory with stolen molds. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.651805778185795.1073741903.110400738992971&type=3 No Marvel book released, One Batman book released. Red Skull for sure but Thor seems unlikely. They just put a weirdly sleek helmet onto the existing hairpiece. The hammer in the short is also way off and more detailed with a little band and printing. This is better.- 9,756 replies

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Navy Trooper Fenson replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
You want a Starlord with unimaginative lightning helmet instead of an awesome Killzone-like gasmask with red eyes that gaze into your soul? Ok. But it´s pretty sure the GOTG sets will be based on the GOTG movie so it will end up not even remotely similar to those designs. Well, considering that the videogame is confirmed to include stuff from the next wave of sets we already have pics of most of the sets in form of screenshots from the game. For characters you only have to look up their names here or search "LEGO Marvel" plus the characters name on Google. I haven´t found any good screens of the vehicles but the Spider-Copter, Spider-Tricycle and Ocks Bank truck are definitely in the game. We would practically only need somebody with the game to make screenshots to have pics of at least all 3 Spidey sets and some of the figs of the Avengers sets. The movie was done by Warner Animation in association with TT Games/Studios which is owned by WB. It´s one thing to have their developer make a game with a rival company (Disney/Marvel) but it´s another one to make an animation film for them when they have their own studios to do so. The reason they did the Batman movie in the first place probably was because it involved basically no effort since they had the game as a base. It´s unknown if Disney could use the game as a base for their movie, too or if they even want to do it. Pretty sure there will be a Winter Soldier minifig and since he isn´t part of a set (that´s announced). I guess it means either a book or a S@H polybag and both of them would be on time for a release this year.- 9,756 replies

"Here is a store, some guy robs it and Batman wants to kick their teeth in." How is that more complex? You know, this is very lazy but also exactly how I envisioned this fig, so I have no reason to complain about it. On the other hand, it´s nice to know he is identical with the Monster Fighter bat people so I don´t have to buy a crappy helicopter set without my Nightwing. The only difference is that Man-Bat has tan hairs, has an open mouth and pants while the bat people are dark tan haired, have closed moths, a slightly different pattern and brown legs. But I was a kid at some point in my life and found stuff like that dumb. Spider-Mans thing is that he is webslinging across New York. He doesn´t need bikes, cars and choppers for that. I don´t care that the show is saying Spider-Man pays 80 bucks for webs on his way to school or whatever it was exactly, they just want to justify the retarded vehicles Hasbro is trying to sell. They really go out of their way to even make the stuff believable. Without Shield the constantly broke highschool student Parker couldn´t afford this stuff. "Baaaaww mommy I don´t want Venoms Symbionte Truck with honking-feature, it´s so dark and frightens me with it´s sharp toothed smily face on the hood! :P to you, evil Venom and your evil car!" ??? Don´t know how many psychological problems I have compared to the average person but I always thought everyone finds the villains cooler? It would be easier to justify vehicles for at least some villains and even when they have to make them up it would offer more possibilities with fun weapons of mass destruction like tanks and giant robot suits, all in more colors than red and blue. And the toys for Spider-Man 1 and 2 were just Spidey, a villains and city vehicles. It wasn´t that great since none of the stuff was compatible with City vehicles but hey, it still sold pretty good as far as I remember. Wow, thanks bud- http://www.bricklink...0&srtAsc=A&ov=Y Oh. http://www.bricklink...=suit black tie Oooh... Either he stands there cross-armed giving the impression it´s closed when he is actually just pressing his blazer together or they are bad toys, posters and publicity shots. He maybe has it closed at some point in some film (I think he went with a closed jacket for most of IM1) but his open jacket is much more prevalent. I know, but I would have expected an open black suit with black tie for years now, not necessarily in Superheroes sets but in any of the other lines that could include one like City, CMFs and the occasional summer movie license.- 9,756 replies

Nope, Coulson needs an open suit torso in black. We either have it black and closed or in a stupid color like sandblue or tan and open. The developers don´t change existing figs to their wishes. If they did People like Nova and Electro would have leg and back printing and Labcoat Doc Ock wouldn´t have green legs with a white front but have the white of the coat go around the whole leg piece. The developers saw the sets for sure specifically so they put the content in the game. Mary Jane may not look like from the show but they probably don´t care just like how Nick Furys fig has a blue shirt and he wears it only for a 1 minute scene. Besides, the pieces they use in the prelim mock-up fit the games fig. The green Hydra Soldier already gives away that it isn´t the movie but seeing that tank design and the Mutt Williams style motorcycle I just hope this set takes place in the past with glorious First Avenger Cap costume. But then again, doesn´t this set sound a bit like the first episode of the Assemble cartoon?- 9,756 replies

Days of Future Past Trailer dropped: I think we can safely say that we won´t get sets for that. Let alone that LEGO striking a deal with Fox about the Simpsons doesn´t automatically mean we will get X-Men too, the films looks like it won´t have any costumes. The future cast all has leather jackets, even Xavier and Magneto, and the 70s cast has regular clothes (which I would actually like to see sets with but you know LEGOs problems with non-costumes). I guess you could do some sets but this lends even less to sets than all the MCU films. My bet is there will be some regular X-Men sets, maybe with the costumes from the game but I think when they are June or July releases they were too late for inclusion in the game.- 9,756 replies

They have to have a middle ground like Star Wars, there we get sets from all six movies, the cartoon and even some EU stuff from videogames evenly spread out. Marvel should make one or two sets for each film with the most important characters and the rest of the wave comic based. What they are doing now is too much into either extreme and it doesn´t help that Iron Man 3, the probably least fitting movie for a toyline, got 3 sets while Thor 2 with the battlefield action and Winter Soldier with the car chases are getting none.- 9,756 replies
