  1. Nah, the ring thing is a bit too toyetic for Lego. Lego Marvel also had the perfect toyline set up with the huge amount of characters and in the end Lego only released a new Doc Ock and a couple of the side characters that didn´t even appear in story missions like Power Man, Taskmaster and Electro. The sets will probably end up a bit more earth based than the game, especially when the Hall of Justice is confirmed to be in the game and there needs to be some kind of main hub where the standard costumes make sense. If the game would be 100% in outer space everybody would only be able to appear in space suit variants of the costumes and just making all heroes and villains walk around in their regular gear in the Watchtower would be really lazy. Full list a week before release but they will probably reveal a couple characters the nearer we get to release. The games have their own designers that don´t have to care about sturdiness and which part is possible to make in certain colors. Before 2012 these designers worked all by themselves and were like ships passing in the night with stuff like the LSW2 AT-ST being a 1999 AT-ST cockpit with new legs while 4 months later a complete redesign was made. I think nowadays the game designers and Lego discuss this thoroughly from both sides like how Lego wants TT to use all their current toys while TT proposed a new set with Doc Ock because they didn´t want to include USM Ock that prominently when he is far off other appearances of the character.
  2. It defeats the purpose of a multi troop carrier when it can only carry six droids. Granted, you could easily mod it to give it a second level for 12 in total but what is this? Why do the droids stand in there instead of being folded like always? The designer could easily have made the design compatible for 12 droids, still a downgrade from 16 but at least not as bad as 6. I thought we are in 2014, not 2001. Me too. Would have been a better choice for a store exclusive for sure, would have perfectly fit into the 40-60$ price range they give to these sets nowadays. Instead it´s a MTT and looking at those box dimensions it will surely be 90$ / the same as 2010 Slave One and TOR Sith Interceptor. The skirt of the Airbornes is grey, it would look bad. No idea where Aanchirs text is but they improved the angle of the laser canons and shortened them to the fitting length and the angling at he sides of the front is better but everything else is just as bad as before in a different way. The angle at the front is still too vertical, the engines at the side now stand out instead of being covered a bit and the entire butt has far too hard angles in comparison to the movie model. 7662 is maybe too round and got none of the edges right but it at least functions well as a troop transport while this new one fails at everything beside the canon placement. But I guess I can thank this release for showing me how impossible it is to get the angles of the MTT right. You would need to build the whole thing with plate coverages instead of slope bricks. Something more akin to the roof of the new Arkham Asylum. Would be interesting to see some good MOCs of that (and one that carries more than 16 BDs too). I give you compact because of course it´s going to be more compact when you make the build smaller but nothing can beat the sturdiness of the 7662. Nah, Boss Nass would be impossible. Store exclusives like this can never use new moulds. But I wish they would have kept it Theed based or AAT, Jedi actually encountered those, the palace guard as well and could have been a good choice for a new Padmé or even more different palace guards.
  3. Well, New 52 version was an exclusive polybag figure and Lego Batman 2 used the New 52 Manhunter (albeit a sightly different version) so it looks like a set with this classic version is coming. Good to hear, I was afraid we would never get him after that polybag and the move to New 52 marketing push. As for the others, Hal Jordan looks perfect and Wondy/Cyborg are okay although I don´t see the need in them. Superman and Batman have a New 52 design now that´s okay too since they don´t use as much seams/lines. The new cowl looks interesting but Batman uses a black head with flesh printing (at least the New 52 outfit from the screenshots) so that could lead to some print problems like with Captain America and Stormtroopers. The cowl would also be perfect for Adam West. All in all I am pretty satisfied with the figs for now, now it only needs another set with Flash and some good villains.
  4. I think they set a timer for when these sets have to get a price drop so they can get sold out in time for a new set wave but when the sets get sold out before the timer hits (which is in the case of popular lines like LOTR and Star Wars way earlier) they just keep the sets on the page (I think so people can see what´s currently available from Lego in general and not just their website) and don´t bother updating the discount timer because, who cares?
  5. It looks like Psyclone can´t turn his head with these tubes hanging down the torso, is this correct? Also, it would be great if you could take a pic using the flame hat piece for a Ghost Rider and Human Torch minifig.
  6. Bootleggers don´t make the designs themselves but at least they sell it. Lego chooses to not give us more opportunities to give them money (Megabloks had Marvel CMFs, there is no reason for Lego to not do them) so I am giving my money to people that will take it and don´t play these stupid games of which lone JL member to release this year. If only these Bootlegs were available outside of USA, that is.
  7. We need more Captain America. The Hydra Tank from this year should have been based on Cap 1. At the very least there should be a way to get the different costumes for Cap and Iron Man. The MCU films would make for some great sets but with these tiny waves they really shoot themselves in the foot. Make 3 sets about IM3 and only one is in any way similar to the movie while Cap 2 would have made for at least 3 sets naturally. It would be fun if we get some special line with a more limited release like UCS sets or the Architect line that has models based on specific movies that are a couple of decades old like Adam West Batman, Reeves Superman and the like. But really, every problem would be solved if there were Super Heroes CMFs where you could get really specific old costume variations and unknown characters while the regular sets are for the current movie promotion. I can´t believe Lego can´t just do that when Mega Bloks already had this exact perfect plan half a decade ago.
  8. Beware the Batman is dead, just like GLTAS and Young Justice. It was dead with the tenth episode. It was dead when it first aired. It was dead when all the merch it got were Happy Meal toys, one single action figure and half the content of a Lego set. Next few DC sets will be based on random aspects like before. I don´t think we will ever see toys based on Arrow but it would be sweet if they would use the costume like how they used Arkham City Robin. 2006 version seems like a good substitute. I am still surprised how Lego uses Keaton-man in so many sets and even made Nicholson Joker.
  9. Would be hard to do. Looks like it´s too big for a S@H exclusive (when they don´t make the car part of a bigger set like Wayne Manor, that is) and exclusives to stores like TRU and Walmart normally come at the same time as a regular wave, so it would have to be released either next year or two months ago. I think it´s part of next years wave, UCS Wayne Manor seems unlikely with Arkham still on shelves and no Marvel UCS set as well as all this talk about UCS Tumbler. But when they do release a Wayne Manor, what better work to base it on than 66 Batman since it has all those gimmicky functions already in the show. Catwoman is impossible except it´s a normal retail wave set for January 2015, hair would use a new mould. Somebody still has hope for a decent Riddler after Lego trolled us that hard with rainbow tracksuit Riddler and his incredible jemmy? Adorable. > inb4 somebody likes tracksuit Riddler You are right, though.
  10. Drax in the movie isn´t really green and goes a bit into a greyish direction which makes him look grey in bad lighting like "strangely" linked but making him flat-out light grey is going too far, he is obviously olive. Like with Boba Fett where the limbs of his overall are a different shade of light grey and instead of making the whole overall light grey because when you don´t look several minutes on a pic of it you wouldn´t even notice that difference, Lego made it goddamn blue because the designers are too stupid and colorblind nowadays to make a judgement call and choose what real people see. And on the topic of accuracy, how tall is this Mixel joints Groot anyway now in relation to minifigs? 10 or 12 metres? He seems awfully big to me when he was just like a head or two higher in the movie and maybe twice as tall as a regular person on the first concept art. At least we can´t blame Marvel for the non-film designs like with Iron Man, the concept art seems to be pretty clear about it. http://media2.firsts...CharsFullXL.jpg
  11. Superheroes =/= TMNT Then the problem is "only" in San-Diego (only in quotation marks since they give out most if not all of these figs). Also, I forgot to mention that last year several figures like Green Arrow were available on Ebay, sold by the same seller who apparently had 10 to 20 copies a few days before the raffle even started. This exclusive stuff only gives scalpers a profit by squeezing the money out of the gullible people. If Lego has to have exclusives they should stay with mini models, existing sets in different boxes and other stuff that is easily possible to build yourself. I occasionally saw them linked on other sites and they are only being sold by US sellers as far as I know. The figs are branded for the companies Sheng Yuan, DeCool and LeLe.
  12. I am doubting Legos strategy when they don´t do a Marvel D2C this or next year. Either do it this year as a tie-in with the X-Men movie so we can get a bunch of X-Men to fill the gap there since they probably won´t get another good opportunity for X-Men tie ins n the near future. Or do it next year for Avengers 2, although it would probably just turn out unneeded when the regular product line will include all heroes of the movie in smaller sets anyway. Actually, I can´t even come up with a decent/possible Marvel D2C. Helicarrier/Avengers Tower would end up with the same figs as in the other movie sets, X-Men could work but it´s really hard to pick characters that don´t need new moulds, Baxter Building is impossible because of Thing (except when they make him a minifig), Everything else is too unpopular right now or better off as a smaller set. Would be easier to just do normal retail sets in the 100 range instead of D2Cs, since they can use new moulds in that case and nothing really necessitates the amount of detail/parts count that a D2C comes with. DC could at least give us some kind of a Justice League HQ to give us more of the missing leaguers faster than once a year but instead we get more Batman and his redesigned villains and statues.
  13. You can forget this. Lines on last years Comic-Con were ridiculously long, you have spend an entire day just for the a raffle ticket. They are lego figs with different printing than that of other lego figs. San-Diego has them every year and New York had some in 2011 but nothing since then. 400 at the least going up to how dumb the Ebay seller thinks you are. Getting these things is just dumb luck and most of them end up in the hands of children since the employees know which tickets win (I don´t care what Lego said on the issue FBTB brought up last year, Lego would never admit that the employees there know which tickets win anyway). They are not worth the price, let alone the endless waiting in the lines which has a 90% chance of being a waste of time. I would recommend making these figs yourself with decals and fig parts you have/can order. Also there are several Ebay sellers (only in the US sadly) that produce superhero figs that look 1:1 like what Lego makes or sell CMF like packets where the print is a bit off/the legs have another shape. The figs range from pretty bad to pretty good but when you want something like a Shazam fig I would just buy the 3$ knockoff and switch the pants with real lego than pay 500$ to some guy who just got lucky.
  14. Polybags are US exclusive except for the occasional magazine freebie in Sweden/Norway. I hope they do away with polys completely. Just makes the US market unbalanced, rips off the poor souls that feel the need to buy every set and apparently makes people think there is no need for BPs anymore when they would be far cheaper. He looks identical to the game. Does that mean we get Psylocke, Black Bolt and Future Foundation Reed Richards, too?
  15. Is Manhunter even a german promo? These promos get really irritating, blue clone in december instead of october, Emmet in march instead of february. It was nice when they were all happening everywhere at the same time.
  16. Post of the year. People that buy retired UCS sets are masochists anyway. The Falcon consists of very common pieces anyway. The only really exclusive/rare parts are a huge dark red plate, a huge dish with special printing, grey levers, grey boat mast rigging and some long hoses. All other parts are wildly available through large numbers of sets and could easily be ordered within the 550 price range and aforementioned special parts could still easily be swapped out with more common alternatives that barely change the look. When people feel the need that huge boxes, instructions and a different color of a couple parts add up to 2500$ extra it´s all their own fault. I am against re-releasing old UCS sets, Lego should start working on getting the more well known vehicles out first. That second X-Wing isn´t warranted when Lego is wasting our time with unpopular sets like the B-Wing, Grievous statue and JSF that nobody bought and had to be massively discounted after just a couple months and very lame/easy to build yourself designs like the Executor and Sandcrawler. They should finally just do the Slave One and AT-AT, it´s hard to get dark green and brown parts in the right shapes and there still is no good AT-AT design with good enough articulation.
  17. - Part name: Minifig handle with towball - Part description: a minifig handle with a towball / this with a small handle instead of the technic pin - Part usage: dropping glass for scientists/doctors / fingers for figures made with the new small ball joint system Also, I don´t know if this is the best place to ask but minifig heads seem to stagnate design-wise. Female heads and heads of most CMF figs look like the same person with a different expression, not two different people. It´s nice for Brickfilmers to have different expressions for the same design but when we talk about armybuilding figs like Astronauts / Colonial Soldiers / Policemen / Romans it would be nice to have more different face types so you could change them out to have the crowds look less like clone trooper dioramas. Just don´t always slap cheekbones everywhere, people also have wrinkles in their face like around their mouth and noses. Let´s make a game out of this, guess which head belongs to which CMF, without looking up Bricklink. When there is basically no difference between Lex and Superman you sure have a problem. It would be nice to have more mouth/nose wrinkles. Those seem to be relegated to licensed sets only and even there always to rare characters (Goyle / 2011 Snape), characters with goggles / strains of hair / other specialized prints in their face (Doc Ock / 2007 Snape), characters with inexplicable and weird skin colors (Aldrich Killian / 2000 Snape) or flat out removed because of weird facial expressions (Hawkeye / 2000 Snape). Please make more heads like the following in regular themes like City, CMFs and Action, not just for Licenses.
  18. Aren´t train tracks just as huge and costly as Monorail tracks and get redesigned every three years or so? Even when it´s about the length of the old pieces you could just make new ones that are a little shorter. Or even better, just make pieces like the silver/gold mine tracks and make the rest of the tracks with basics. Would be more versatile and easier to get into non-Monorail sets even.
  19. He started talking about not buying Batman sets and then saying he would start not buying it after buying all of it. Just wanted to explain to him that nothing he said makes sense. And this is a really weird attitude people on this site have, constantly praising everything lego does. Don´t tell me you are 100% satisfied with this wave. You don´t even have to tell me actually, the last few pages have posts where you want more non-Batman heroes and buildings. We don´t have to call everything lego releases 100%, ten out of ten, 5 stars, goat. This wave isn´t completely bad but there is a stupid choice or part in every kit. I would like to see a wave where every set is like Lex Power Armor and does not include excuse-vehicles or crap character designs. Well, I am not buying anything comic related beside the lego kits so there is that. Maybe I get myself the Flash set when it´s 50% off. And yeah, I am not that much caring about design differences like Flashs logo not being the same on the lego fig than in the DCAU cartoon I want to make a display of but when you get stuff like Martian Manhunter with a different skin color, this loincloth thing and no collar it´s just too much of a difference. I mean, what kid even knows about the red Nightwing design? As I said only 2% read comics (which probably aren´t the main line universe intended for 40-year olds and when you´ve got such figures there is no point in trying to bind children to comics, cartoons and movies are just easier for them to get than weekly (or even more often) 4$ purchases) and children will only know Nightwing from BTAS 1998 reruns, if at all. And if kids don´t care about those designs, then why not just make only DCAU figs? It´s not like they wouldn´t buy them then like you said and people in this thread here would like those designs more (at least it sounds like I´m not the only person with this opinion) Super Heroes are all about the characters. Some may have a vehicle or a building but all in all it´s only about the characters. Dioramas for super heroes are too much overlapping with City and related lines so that it´s much easier for the SH line to cross the line to unnecessary builds like Batman scuba thingie and Riddlers dragster when in a regular story Batman would just take his diving-suit without the vehicle so he can move more easily and Riddler would just steal someones car and maybe paint it a bit green and purple if at all. I personally am at a point where I own enough pieces to build every kind of vehicle that Batman could have in a black color scheme and don´t need to buy sets anymore except for maybe the occasional new mould if it´s really useful. With this superhero line it´s just a method to get new headgear and weapon molds or fig parts in new colors or with new prints. If I had a printer for regular and metallic colors and a 3D printer with better quality plastic I would never buy a lego set again.
  20. "Hey, let´s stop buying Batman Lego! But not before we buy the latest Batman Lego." You realize that you couldn´t buy further Batman lego after the recently released four sets even if you wanted to, because there is nothing else getting released or made until the UCS Tumbler and the 2015 wave? Why even buy the new sets? Aren´t those new sets not exactly the reason why we think Lego DC is crap? Scuba Batman and Arkham Penguin are very meh, Beware the Batman is already cncelled so who gives a crap about the Batmobile? I would rather wait for a Flash fig based on a movie or show than buy a 35€ set for a single fig. Riddler and his Dragster are the worst thing I have seen since the early Star Wars Battlepacks design-wise. Manhunter, red Nightwing, Batgirl and Damien are all New 52 designs so who gives a damn? Really, comic book designs for toys aimed at children? Only 2% of the sales go to people below 18 (which is still weird with suicide drawing contest for Harley and ripped off face Joker) and the majority of comic fans prefer older designs anyway. Some of you guys maybe have a case with Nicholson Joker minifig but then you get to the point where you realize that a wave of 4 full sets still only gives you a single worthwhile figure. Isn´t that enough motivation to finally stop buying this stuff? I for one am way ahead of you and wait until they make some more builds or characters that are actually well designed. Well the "conflicting" excuse is somewhat understandable. The only sets about existing licenses that got 10.000 were the Sandcrawler and Tumbler. The Tumbler is already available in minifig scale (albeit camo colorscheme) and a completely different design of the same vehicle available at the same time would just confuse customers. The Sandcrawler is apparently also an upcoming UCS set for this fall. We should vote for something that´s not in the pipelines like maybe all those building and bases you guys mentioned on the last few pages? X-Mansion would be a start. Cuusoo is somewhat indicative of what is popular, the big problem is only that there are apparently only 5000 AFOLs and TFOLs that care to vote for projects at which point internet bloggers and project specific campaigns on other sites take care of the other 5000 votes. You guys only have yourself to blame when you don´t even visit Cuusoo but then again it´s understandable with the weird way in which you can´t just look at random projects and have to use search words. And of course there is the hurdle that no set can have new molds. I think the polybag and D2C may be because 2015 will be the year of Marvel with Avengers 2 and Ant-Man coming out within 2 months of each other and now that Batman/Superman was pushed to 2016 it would make sense to just swap place with DC so both companies can use those promotions to actually promote their current projects.
  21. A UCS scale Tumbler isn´t conflicting with a minifig-scale Tumbler. The two Batmobiles from 2006 were also released at the same time. I think the bigger problem with the black Tumbler was the crappy camo Tumbler but it´s getting ridiculous when we now have the Tumbler in pretty much every version possible, except a good looking minifig-scale. Forgetting about the Asylum? I would prefer a system where we get a super hero D2C each year for DC on even years and Marvel on odd years. Just an equal treatment for both companies like how it looked with the 2012 and 13 waves. Shame they scrapped that and instead of finally making a few sets without Batman we just get Duplo and UCS vehicles as if DCs other characters couldn´t sell a single toy. Can you guys please stop constantly mentioning the Lego movie? Just including a fig doesn´t make it part of the line. Otherwise we could count the movie sets as part of NinjaGo, the return of Orient Expedition, City, Pirates and 80s Space. Batman isn´t licensed out when WB (who made the movie) owns him completely, especially when you could just remove Batman from the set and nothing would be lost. You had a more convincing case if it were the 6-seater Batwing but seeing how we now know the whole years sets except for some polybags and D2Cs you can discount the idea of further movie sets, too. I think you are right.
  22. The green Twilek girl from the second Ryloth episode would need to have a lot of stuff retconned, since she has a different name, lives in a village miles or continents away from Syndulla and was shown to have a father (but they could retcon into something stupid like that he was babysitting Numa while Syndulla was fighting against droids in the capitol). The unnamed tan Twilek from the third episode could work but the lego fig is obviously green and looks like a final design. But not for any store exclusive sets. He looks more like a Zygerian (the cat people from Slaves of the Republic) but still somewhat off with the ears. Probably a mix between the old Chewie concepts and the Zygerians.
  23. The lineup is Stormtrooper, Imperial Officer (Captain regular 3 red/3 blue insignia), Death Star/Navy Trooper, imperial Crew member (those guys who went to search in the Falcon in ANH and got knocked out), Darth Vader. The first leaked pic had a much clearer, drawn version of the lineup that was exactly the same. One new fig, nothing exciting at all. It was made with the Marines in mind, that´s for sure. I hope the trend of three BPs continues and we get some Marines in 2015. But you can definitely forget the Windu version, that guy never appeared in anything and is just a variant Hasbro made because they like to waste time designing new clone trooper markings apparently. And I wouldn´t put TCW sets out of the equation just now, the show is still known/popular and Disney has the rights to the last 13 episodes, I think the chance of irregular sets based on it like how they did for the Prequels during 2007-2011 even when they will use the next few years mainly to push out stuff based on Rebels and the new films. The republic artillery and Police gunship will still be available in summer 2015.
  24. It´s 27 to 35€, that´s not inexpensive. Especially considering Snowspeeders are small enough that you could put one in a 20€ set, maybe even a Battlepack. Not at all with those grey markings, not a single orange part and Luke/Ralter yet again as pilots. Really thought they would finally do a redesign this year since the X-Wing got one 2012 already and was released 2004 too. It feels like they just don´t give a crap with Hoth. Slave One, Prequel stuff, Falcon, B-Wing. Pretty much everything has some thought put into it and changes some stuff that didn´t quite work right when they do a redesign but AT-AT and Snowspeeder are all the same set with wrong colorschemes, weird proportions that could be designed better and no effort put into the structure of the AT-AT. Grey Snowspeeder in a much smaller size and AT-AT with more movie accurate legs, a sturdy beam structure like with the new Clone Tank/AT-TE would work wonders. I already sold my old Snowspeeders and looked forward to some new ones that fit better. Oh well, one day.
  25. I would recommend waiting a couple months. The some rumors say the GL in the Batman/Superman film will be John and even if he won´t there is still a great chance of getting him next years with a set since a new DC hero each years looks to be a tradition. Maybe Lego is even smart enough to coordinate this and makes the comic-based GL the one who doesn´t appear in the JL movie. 20 - 30$ really aren´t worth a figure, let alone the sets the official fig will be included. Well, we could get a S@H polybag promo like the last two years. Then there is the fact that DC and Marvel so far have the same amount of sets except for Arkham Asylum which means a Marvel themed S@H exclusive could get released. And sometimes there are Walmart/Target/TRU exclusive sets that can be held secret much longer than regular wave sets but this is the unlikeliest event seeing how we only got Doc Ocks Lair and Jokers Funhouse as those before. At least we can count on Winter Soldier appearing in some form, the Ninjago metallic arms and black scarves are really obvious like the hair of the Forrest woman for Ewok Village Leia. Well, at some point DC will have to do some new animated shows anyway and a Justice League cartoon is rumored for a tie-in with the life-action movies. As long as the next cartoon won´t be Batman again we have good source material by default. Because the show isn´t popular and toy manufacturers saw that from a mile away with how Batmans only selling point are his villains and except for Ras Al-Guhl every villain in the show never appeared in a cartoon or movie before. That´s why the only Bewareman set with the Bewaremobile included a senseless Riddler redesign instead of somebody who actually appeared in the cartoon. Agents of Shield set? I never watched the show but what could you even do as a set for that show? The huge jetplane that only works as a 60-100 set if at all? Some regular looking cars? Maybe a lab even though the Hulk playset is covering that already? I don´t even think AOS is intended for children, the plots sound rather boring for comic-standards and unbearable for children standards. We don´t even get Cap and Thor sets and those are their most important properties movies. Maybe a Coulson fig as a comic-con exclusive or in a book but otherwise Shield isn´t happening in Lego-form. The key is that evergreen lines have much more sets simultaneously on shelves than regular lines. Star Wars has 20+ sets each year, I think City too. Compare that to the 5 sets we got last year for each of the two SH companies. The line is hopefully expanding to that size next year then and even if they want to, they can´t just have 30 sets of Batman on shelf when they barely have a dozen different Bat-villains at their disposal without resorting to new molds or obscure comics-only stuff.
