  1. Nope. The only way they could do it is with the old style of hinges like . But those are out of production for years and except for the treasure chest every hinge is now with a click joint that is way too huge and blocky. But the mask is much bigger and bulkier at the joint. If we want to keep R2s feet at 1x2 studs it doesn´t work, either R2 generally needs to be bigger or they have to use the old style hinges which were discontinued because of their small size which makes them more prone to breaking. They already have enough problems making the printing on the domes and torsos with all those overlapping and false fitting dots, I would prefer them getting that right first. And seeing how the only kind of printing they could do on R2 would be a blue stripe on the side and maybe those tiny cables on the feet (which are verging on going too far) I would prefer them making Phase 1 clone pilot helmets or any other kind of piece first. When battledroids can stay one color on their joints there is no reason to give R2 some. If anything has to be changed at R2 it would have to be the torso with a pin hole at the bottom like in the good old times (so LEGO could use the pin+cheese technique to give R2 a third leg) instead of the cross hole and with a single stud on top instead of four so R2 can turn his head without taking the fig apart. I can´t believe anybody really thought that R2 would be indicative of a new figure. Let alone LEGOs general unwillingness to chrome parts and the impossibly small and unstable joints: they use the exact same 3D model of R2 (minus the shiny texture on the dome maybe) in their films for several years now.
  2. I told you guys not get your hopes up, in LEGOs mind New York is way beyond San-Diego and them caring about San-Diego is also still a new thing. Movie starts at Halloween (in some countries) Toys in January It´s not as bad as Dark Knight Rises with July to January but still weird. It´s always quiet. The pacing for Superhero set news is much worse than the other themes. A huge stack of information around the end/beginning of the year and the rest nothing. I hope we get real summer and winter waves next year like January/July, not January/April like the last two years all this discussion about how the 2014 wave will look like in May and June makes me nauseous.
  3. LEGO treats Marvel and DC exactly the same with the sets general price points and amount of releases. Aquaman on Ice = Furys Flying Car Dark Knight Rises set = Malibu Mansion Metropolis Showdown = flamethrower golf cart Black zero Escape = Speedboat chase Smallville Battle = Daily Bugle This extents even in petty ways like: Robin polybag = Iron Man polybag 2 DC Comic-Con exclusive figs = 2 Marvel Comic-Con exclusive figs And in a yearly turn: 2012 DC Game preorder fig Lex Luthor = 2013 Marvel Game preorder fig Iron Patriot 2012 Marvel S@H promo fig Hulk = 2013 DC S@H promo fig Jor-El They don´t confirm an "equality rule" when asking the customer service or anybody else but it is pretty obvious, otherwise we would have gotten announcements for Thor 2 sets a long time ago and Marvels line would be much bigger with 5 sets per movie. So, a D2C set is basically confirmed. It doesn´t have to be X-Men but it is Marvel and it would be a logical choice since USM and current movies don´t lend themselves that good for a D2C set.
  4. Depending on what you count as "from the video games". Flash isn´t from the games, his hat/helmet is different as well as his general design but USM Goblin is confirmed to be released 1 to 1. I guess there are some more figs in LEGO Marvel Superheroes beside Goblin that tie in with sets, they apparently saw a whole wave but LEGO Batman 2 can´t give us more 1 to 1 designs. At least one X-Men set is confirmed, some Con people said it would be here in September but you see how that turned out. A S@H exclusive set for X-Men is most likely to be released in 2014, I bet on a release tying in with the new movie around July. Could also be a good tie-in for a new S@H promo fig like Hulk and Jor-El. In a Gamespot video from Comic-Con they said USM Gobby will also be in a new set. Someone else in this thread said the devs have seen the whole wave of the first half of the year so there could be even more set characters in this game.
  5. Even if it isn´t branded as a Beware set, who cares? As long as the designs are fitting/identical it is a toy for the show. Always this need for official clarification of the most trivial things when LEGO is notorious for never talking about upcoming themes and sometimes even the stuff that is already on shelves. The whole set can´t be based on the show anyway. Riddler was already ruled out of appearing there as he is too mainstream for the show and I wouldn´t bet on Flash ever appearing in this show, he is not really fitting with the tone of this show and cameos of other A-Listers in a Batman show normally take until the last season. No.
  6. Character Building is releasing Doctor Who sets and CMFs at the same time. The CMFs have a wide variety of exclusive figs that wouldn´t get released otherwise but mains like Amy and Rory are also in there albeit with only marginally different outfits. The Doctor himself is even in multiple series AND sets all with the same outfit/print. I don´t know how sales are exactly but it seems like it is no problem when they do it for roughly two years now.
  7. The cover on the neck joint would also require a completely new mold, as well as the head with its 3D-details on the ears and eyes. LEGO sometimes takes freedom when designing 3D models for their films but this Grievous takes so much that he can´t be released, he is like the Grievous from Search for Artoo or the Rancor from Padawan Menace, just for the movie and like all those movie only models this new one won´t be relevant for anything, not even at giving a hint where the new Grievous deisgn is going to. The prelim drawing shows a new Obi-Wan with the same head and torso but with new legs and a different hairpiece. The Obi-Wan on the pic is from the AOTC Laaty gunship which means the model was made for Yoda Chronicles and/or to promote summer 2013 sets. Grievous in ROTS isn´t white but he was planned as being white with several actionfigures being released in that color (including the very first LEGO Grievous) and the Gennedy cartoon Grievous being white/grey. Looking at the ROTS and TCW designs as well as the already released TCW LEGO Grievous there isn´t much they can change in the printing. If it were up to me it would only be the eyes but seeing how LEGO cartoonifies parts of their designs they are pretty much okay the way they are for a Life Action fig. So seeing how LEGO can barely change anything it would make sense to make Grievous white for this set since that is a popular variant of his, LEGOs designers are colorblind/Don´t give a crap anyway with darkblue/dark brown Hoth Han and SANDBLUE Boba Fett and it already looks like they changed his color to white or at least a lighter color than the standard and dark tan of Obi-Wan who is directly beside him in the prelim catalogue. I know prelim catalogues can change since they are preliminary but drawings in the catalogue are generally identical with the final product. Also, he never had a cape in the scene of the film it is clear that when you watch he dropped it when "GREETINGS JEDI!" and looking at the lack of lightsabers in all available pics of this set they seem to want to make the set more about the chase and the fight at the escape ship platform. Oh, and LEGO is cheap and don´t want to do a new cape cutout when they don´t have to which is why they haven´t put him with the Tri Droid or Vulture and based him off the bridge scene. Yeah, but those were at least possible through existing molds and didn´t have any magical half-clips that are somehow sticking to the fig and can be positioned.
  8. This site sounds fishy. I don´t remember anybody talking about Superhero CMF rumors and apparently there are licenses separately for construction toys and actionfigures/figurines which prevents LEGO from doing CMFs for their already existing licenses since Hasbro and Mattel own figure licenses for superheroes and Star Wars. There are numerous companies that made and/or make Simpsons figures and actionfigures in the last decade. United Labels made a 20 year anniversary figurines set in 2010 apparently which would fall under the same category as CMFs I guess, but I have no idea if they still hold any licenses or not. The UK set list seemed weird to me too but I give it the benefit of the doubt since Brickset bothered to repeat the news and they usually never bother with unfounded rumors and have been 100% correct in all of their previous news, repeated from other sites and coming from their own sources, while this blog looks like he only repeats news from other sites, but I only skimmed through news from 2012 and 13 there.
  9. Big sets are summer-only, so there should still be some surprises left. All those figs for the Police Gunship. Tarkin, Fox, Barriss, Asajj, Shocktroopers and rereleases for Rex and Ahsoka. Really, the worst fig that could be included would be Anakin but he is probably a given when it is based on the Final Four-Parter. 2014 the latest. : ]
  10. In the drawing he looks lighter than Obi-Wan and he is tan like always. So yes, he should be white. On the box art he has something blue in the area of his knees but I wouldn´t bet on it being lightsabers. Yeah but, who needs an army of Royal Guards? How many were on screen at the same time at most? 4 or 6 when Palpatine went out of his Shuttle. Great, I already bought the Death Star, 6211 Star Destroyer and Imperial Inspection, I got my share. I know not everyone had a chance to buy those sets but even then who needs so many guards? You would need a Palpatine fig, without him they are only usefull for Crimson Empire MOCs and nobody ever made something based on this comic. We don´t need everybody in a Battlepack, that´s why there aren´t Jedi Battlepacks. If a figure was the least deserving of a place in a BP it would be the Royal Guard, they should be coupled exclusively with Palpatine, otherwise they are dead weight. They already were annoying in the 6211 Destroyer and as part of the old magnet set line but this is just ridiculous. BTW. They are redesigned? The drawing shows them the same as always just with red hands like in the first sets they were in. This. Looking at all the BPs, especially the clones and the one stormie BP it looks like LEGO wanted to give the BPs as much variety as possible while still giving us a good deal of easy regular troops. Like how the stormtrooper BP had 3 stormies and a black stormie and nobody ever wanted the black one because he is based on a comic book nobody read. The new BPs are even worse. Royal Guards you need 6 at most, there are only three or two Gunners on the Death Star, the green clones never were seen on Kashyyyk in the film and are solely a Hasbro invention, I only remember the green Scouts being there and Gree who stood out like a sore thumb. The only decent decision were the green Scouts since they are actually on screen in greater numbers but they still have only a single scene. Is there really anybody hyped for Kashyyk sets? It had the biggest battle scequence but Utapau and Coruscant with the 501st Legion are much more important. Really, if they would have done sets based on the Order 66 it would have been great. Mygeeto BP, Utapau BP, AAT v.s. 327th Star Corps with Aayla and slug horses. AT-AP, Droid Gunship and Saleucami just look dull and boring. It´s not just because they are all remakes, the first versions were boring enough already. There is no color and no soul, Order 66 is the crux of the whole film and I would like to know if LEGO just sees it differently as me or because they don´t like being reminded of their hypocrisy for deeming zombie films as too brutal while endorsing a movie with themes such as child murder and mutilation. God, why don´t we get easy Navy/Death Star troopers? They are basically Stormtroopers just without armor and with a stupider helmet. They guard the Endor bunker and are filling the role of Stormtroopers on imperial star destroyers. If LEGO would have done a BP like in the good old days it would have been a Gunner, an officer and two Navys or maybe a navy and a stormie. Why is it that LEGO now ruined all two chances we had on Navys in BPs? I probably would already be content with a single Navy in a BP, I just don´t want to pay 8 bucks per Navy and 4 for a Royal Guard. This is becoming like 2003 all over again. Regular troopers are the most expensive and side characters and bit soldiers are the cheapest.
  11. The Battle Droid BP in 2007 still used the megaphone blasters while everybody else got the new style rifles. They only changed it in summer with the MTT. This may be because they couldn´t release the new straight arms in January but why couldn´t they? The AT-AP on San Diego showed the 2007 design blasters so it´s safe to say the new tube thingies will be used as a substitute not as a replacement or design change. I mean, why would they want to go back to cartoonish tubes when their figures become ever more realistic with cheekbones on people who don´t have any? They are probably a BP only substitute for action functions since flickfire missiles all the time becomes boring now, even for kids, and they couldn´t afford pieces with springs like the Battle or Saleucami.
  12. I hope he is in Cloud City so he can be in a set I would actually buy. But now that I said that they probably cancelled it again. Weird, either all those sets are exclusive or a page is missing from this catalogue and both don´t seem likely to me. Saleucami has a spring loaded missile thingie. Looks like the perfect excuse to make it more expensive than a regular BP. There are two lists and they are respectively two and three days old. Haven´t you seen them or did you already forget them? Really weird with the DS BP. Guards are no Armybuilding material and what would people need two Gunners for let alone an army of them? Navys would have been much more sensible seeing how they are actual soldiers just with no armor. Also some more regular officers would have been nice. There is at least some hope for Rebels merchandise but with a DS BP already made I can probably forget my army of cheap Navy figs. The only thing that could save the situation would be Greg Weisman using Navys in the show more often to make the Stormtroopers look more serious and efficient and not like the canon fodder they have become. And don´t forget that there aren´t even any rebel soldiers for the imperials of the DS to fight against. What would be their equivalent anyway? Two Captain Antilles figs and Bothan Spies? The ROTS starfighter and Wheelbike look nice but the price will probably ruin it again. They look like 17,99€ sets but will most likely be pushed to 26,99€. Well maybe there are some good discounts to get, but the starships are already in my collection. Maybe the Vulture for the Neimoidian but I already have the green JSF which I would like to mod into a smaller more accurate version and the V-Wing from 2006 is so nice and simple, I don´t want a replacement. AT-AP and Gunship are way too similar to the old versions just with new Wookies and Commander Gree ROTS style. The whole Kashyyyk thing is boring anyway. It was just window dressing, at least the 501st Legion moved the plot forward killing kids and all. Micro Fighter aren´t even good for armybuilding, except the clone but even then, who would need white ROTS clones. I hope the AV-7 and Police Gunship are better with their fig assortment. Also hope the Tri Fighter and Utapau are even real and that the TRI actually has the Palpatine and Tater didn´t just mistake the Neimodian for Palpi. Well, two BPs and a Wheelbike now. Could be better.
  13. In the Captain America movie he appears in he is a guy in a regular army combat outfit with black wings. The costume on the comic is identical with the one Falcon has in the Avengers Assemble show on Disney XD but it is not known if they even do sets based on that show.
  14. Not at all. Penguin is part of Arkham Asylum, Riddler has a wrong design, Joker was in two sets (three if you count Arkhams overall version). Manbat is the only promising one but he will probably be the same as the Monster Hunter bats / CMF with pants. The only saving graces would be a different Justice Leaguer/companion for Batman in every set or set designs much better than the Riddler set.
  15. Battlepacks sound more like a wishlist of what the collectors want than thematically fitting. But what do I care? 212th Attack Battalion, Navy Troopers and Wookies! Sounds weird that they include Wookies in there now when they never attempted Geonosians or Ewoks in BPs, I always thought they weren´t used because the molds would push the cost too far seeing how inflated the prices of the regular sets with them in already were. Also weird with Saleucami, those troopers were never seen again and their only on screen appearance showed only two clones. If they are already ignoring the faction thing they should have done 501st Legion but maybe that conflicts with the TCW sets. Recruitment doesn´t sound interesting. At least a bit more interesting since it no has a greater possibility of regular soldiers than pilots but I would prefer more small sets that aren´t BPs would do just fine. Vulture Droid, V-Wing, Anakins JSF and Tri Droid could be perfect for a 15€ set. Coruscant Police Gunship is also a genius design. Really going to be interesting what figs they are putting in there, Ahsoka is a sure thing of course. Glad that I don´t have to buy the MHC then. Your book is months old and includes nothing of interest. Make it two Death Star troopers, a gunner and an officer and it´s a 10/10, will buy at least 5. In a comic sadly, LEGO never does comic-based sets. And if they would do Galactic Marines they were part of the battle of Mygeeto which would have been a better set name.
  16. The Minifig scale X-Wing was a January 2012 release so he should be discontinued in the following months together with the rest of that wave. LEGO had the 2006 X-Wing available constantly until the release of the 2012 one and before that they had the Dagobah X-Wing from 2004 and 2005 and the very first X-Wing had multiple releases. I wouldn´t be surprised if they want to have the X-Wing on shelves constantly and now release the exact same set as 2012 just with different figs. Maybe with the Dagobah hut like everybody wants, or maybe just with Wedge and his Astromech instead of Porkins. I am unsure but maybe this will even be the preview set for Rebels. The X-Wing will certainly be a prominent vehicle in the show and it wouldn´t be hard for them to use an existing set design, maybe change some colors like from 2004 to 2006 and just swap the figs. If the figs don´t use any special pieces they could put this out very fast.
  17. FINALLY A NEW GRIEVOUS WHEEL BIKE. I will be pissed if it turns out to be a Planets set. Either way it will mean a redesign of Grievous. Really hope he is going to be white/lightgrey but it doesn´t seem likely looking at the film scenes. It will be interesting how they are going to change the printing of the parts and what else is in the set, looks like I will be getting the third new style life action Obi-Wan/Chuck Norris. I expected the Droid Gunship already, but together with the AT-AP, V-Wing and Vulture those don´t feel like they are necessary, would have liked some more Utapau/Coruscant but sadly those have either no, concept drawing-only or big vehicles to choose from. Maybe there will be something with the minifigs but then they would have to take them from very far away like the 2011 Republic Frigate. Republic AV sound like the AV-7 aka the huge artillery from the TCW pilot movie. Already lost faith in it being released after the tiny Battlepack version in 2012. Really hope it includes some important figures being the last TCW set and all (but maybe there will be some more in the summer but I think it´s going to be Rebels focused). Additional releases of Ahsoka and Obi-Wan in their Season 4/5 outfits would be nice. Having them be only in two exclusive sets feels a little wrong when their first, less good costumes were sprinkled all over the years. Battle of Felucia I presume. It could also be Saleucami but that gives LEGO nothing to work with that isn´t already in production (ROTS had Adi Gallia and two clones driving in speederbikes/BARCs over a bunch of debris and TCW had BARC speeder chases (75012 BARC speeder with sidecar), AT-TEs (75019) and a CIS shuttle (same as the 2009 set but it seems too obscure a set to warrant a second release after such a short time) and beside the two TCW episodes being with Phase 1 clones that LEGO maybe wants to discontinue, after season 4 and 5 only use Phase 2 ones, there isn´t even a single new character or variation in those episodes that have anything to do with the "battle". Felucia could either mean the march scene in ROTS that included AT-OTs (way too big/a 2009 release), ISP Swamp Speeders (the one from the Wookie Katamaran from 2005), those slugs clones rode on and AATs (albeit very far in the background but still, this has more basis than the AOTC Snail Droid Tank whose scene was cut a decade ago) plus 327th Star Corp troopers and a Life Action Aayla. TCW had a short fight scene in the Season 3 finale there with Plo Koon/Ahsoka/Anakin and Wolfpack Troopers. The only thing one could call a vehicle would be the separatist command center walker (their counterpart to the republic thingie from this years clone BP) with a Tactical droid who could use a rerelease but if they make it a 26,99€ set like the Geonosian Artillery from 2012 it will be crap for armybuilding with only 4 figs, maybe 5 or 6, depending on how many battle droids LEGO now thinks equal a real minifig. The least likely but still viable option would be a set based on the Akira Kurosawa episode with the villager aliens, pirates, bounty hunters and again Ahsoka/Anakin/Obi-Wan. If done right it would need a bunch of new molds and cost around 100$ but something smaller could be made, like bounty hunters and Jedi against the pirates but that would mean a lot of characters have to be cut. Weird how there is nothing about Battlepacks. Or are the Kashyyyk Trooper / DS Trooper their own sets? Sounds more like they are figs that go with Planets sets but if that is the case where does the Kashyyyk Trooper go? He doesn´t fit with any of the other vehicles in that list and Planets Sets use pilots more often than soldiers. I don´t think they would have had enough time to design a set in the few months the show is in production now. The super special preview TCW Anakin JSF from January 2008 was only possible because TCW was already in production in 2005 and LEGO knew of the plans of the post-ROTS era of Star Wars merchandise in advance (which is why they also renewed the license). Rebels will maybe get a whole wave for itself in the summer of 2014 which is preview enough for a fall premiere, but the first Rebels sets being January 2015 releases wouldn´t surprise me. Ultimate Spider-Mans first episode aired in April and the Marvel LEGO sets all released in April except the lone Spider-Man set that was an August release. Seems obvious that they have not enough lead time for set designers/production then.
  18. I just looked some dates up for the first pics of every year. 22.9.2007 20.8.2008 6.9.2009 26.8.2010 15.10.2011 20.10.2012 Final two were the finished designs, no idea if there were even prelims available for them. So yeah, it should be End of August/September for pics. Also looked for set lists. 2009 till 2011 it was always the 5th or 6th of August, 2008 even 20th July. So yeah, i was wrong about the dates, but the expo and con stuff still stands. The Rancor Pit was revealed at San-Diego in July that year, like I already said. Also the availability of sets has nothing to do with new set pics. Palpatines Arrest was first found in July in Germany. Does that mean we get the TRU exclusive summer set and the most expensive set of the first wave of the following year at the same time? No it´s just that summer exclusive sets get released in summer and San-Diego gives us a pic of a set, it´s completely separate from each other. Btw. Endor is a S@H exclusive, Palpatine a TRU one. Better equals would be UCS B-Wing for Endor and 8019 AT-AT for Palpatine Arrest.
  19. Of course the rumor was untrue, set lists only were already always end of August at best. Pictures are October, September if we are lucky. And seeing how we never got decent summer pics last year that weren´t from Toy Fair it looks like LEGO succeeded at keeping information on their products from their fanbase. And since when do we get infos from cons and expos? The only Star Wars sets that get announced on festivals are a regular wave one at San-Diego and the S@H ones. And that´s much, other themes have much worse official coverage and nothing points to a change in this.
  20. I know nobody wants to remember it, myself included, but Superman Returns is a movie that existed in 2006. It got merchandise and made a good profit. Superman was also main part of the Justice League show that aired in the same year and appeared in nearly every other DC show since then at least in cameos (Brave and Bold, The Batman) or in an important supporting role (Young Justice) and completely detached from this there are countless clothing items that casuals buy every year. Even though he wasn´t in any film that was important and actually good people still like and recognize him, even the children. Superman is right behind Batman in popularity and sales if anything. WB had countless Superman movies in the works in all those years but never went forward with anything because every idea was either totally dumb and nobody on their executive board wanted to point this out before working on it for two years or it conflicted with the Nolan trilogy. WB wanted to start a DC movieverse with Green Lantern which utterly failed, MOS was conceived during the making of TDKR and was always meant to start a new universe, even when they deny it, WB just didn´t want to announce or confirm any plans for a MOS universe since Green Lantern was announced as the start of a DC universe, a trilogy, supposed to get its own cartoon and everything else basically while the film bombed hard. Superman was always popular or at least known and sold at the very least well enough to break even. Something like Lone Ranger and Speed Racer, a movie based on a show that wasn´t relevant in decades, or GotG, something that nobody knows and is a sci-fi film, a genre that didn´t have a popular movie outside of Star Wars and Star Trek for a decade, is pretty much a guarantee to not break even, let alone be any good. The only thing GotG has running for it would be its cast, general positive reception with the sci-fi crowd and connections to the Marvel universe. All things that only internet people like you and me care about and are common with all the other countless sci-fi films that made a loss. It´s very possible that LEGO makes GotG sets, seeing how their main targets for licenses are overly successful multi-year franchises and obvious flavor of the month box office trainwrecks it could go either way. How the Comic-Con figs for Marvel had 350 available and for DC only 200 were given away can imply that contracts were finally modified to suit the 8 IPs Marvel covers against the 2 DC is confident in, but what do I know, I wasn´t right with any predictions since 2010. I`m just that saying I can understand that you believe in GotG and it will probably happen but saying MoS is riskier than GotG is going too far into the other direction. Flash tv show confirmed. Spin-Off from Arrow (Flash will appear in three episodes there first) and he will be in his traditional costume (or at least something very near to it). It sounds like they want to make Flash compatible for kids and the JL movie and edgy enough for tumbler teenagers. If they really don´t want to carry over Arrow it would be a very dumb decision considering they want everyone to be like Batman and Arrow is the nearest thing we have to Nolanman right now. Wasn´t there somebody talking about how TT only saw sets of the beginning of the year? Because that could rule out the possibility of a X-Mansion since Cyclops has a regular head with a physical visor on it in a way that would need very special printing techniques and a new mold, when a S@H exclusive could only make him a regular fig with a 2D-print visor. And generally every X-Man in this game is using at least one never seen before mold. On the other hand the Mansion maybe just wasn´t shown to them because they release it in summer/july to tie in with the movie and it doesn´t count as first half of the year. Would make sense since next year the S@H promo fig will be Marvel again and they could tie them both together, like how the May 4th Star Wars fig always has a UCS set coming with it. Because 2013 and 12 every company got six or five sets and right now Marvel has 5 films/shows (ASM2, USM, Cap2, Thor2, GotG) to cover plus maybe also X-Men (more sets confirmed), Fantastic Four (would be weird to include them on the cover of the video game but not give a single set) and Avengers Assemble (maybe not as it´s the same as the movies and those get covered already anyway). This doesn´t even turn out at one set per IP in the worst case and we all know at least one of them will get multiple sets so this is more of a question of who is the least important and GotG just comes to mind with them not even having connections with the MCUs story aside from maybe showing Thanos in a scene or two. Don´t forget that S@H sets can´t use new molds (which cancels out a GotG S@H exclusive) and that Marvel and DC not only get the same amount of sets but also sets in the same price categories. If they would do a 100+ GotG set with the most important people from the film that would mean for DC a 100+ set and since they don´t do Justice League because we can´t have nice things it would have to be Wayne Manor and the Manor maybe couldn´t even be released since it has a very samey role to the Batcave and Arkham Asylum.
  21. Now for that I need an explanation for. MOS was the first movie in DCs life action universe but GOTG is some Sci-Fi tale having nothing to do with anything in the MCU except for like a scene with Thanos sitting around and barely being explained at all. Connections with the MCU are barely helping the film since most people that would care about a Sci-Fi film are those that already watch everything Marvel. With the failing of nearly every Sci-Fi film made that wasn´t already a household name in the last few years it seems riskier to do that instead of a Superman movie considering they at the very least break even alone through the name. Superman Returns made enough money and that was a sequel to some movies from the 70s that are abysmal for new audiences. I talked about LEGO not giving a crap about comic cons. We got a high-res pic of a single Batman wave 1 set in 2011 from NYCC (and right around the same time we got okay quality confidential pics of all sets from france anyway). That was basically it. Sets only get announced through fully LEGO themed cons and events and the San-Diego con. LEGO never gave a crap about comic conventions. They always send somebody over who sells their newest sets but that´s it. Before 2011 the biggest thing from LEGO during San-Diego were the crappy con-exclusive sets that are only relevant for scalpers and the few people that actually go to the con, it practically never happened that LEGO announced something. They prefer to keep every information to themselves and let everything show up without a warning in stores. Set lists for the superhero lines take always much longer than the other themes. I think Around October/November or worst in December when they are already in US stores. Also there are rumors that DC plans to put MOS, Arrow and the new Flash show in the same universe which could mean we will get Arrow sets in the next few years or at least get him when they are finally doing Justice League in 2023. Also there is a rumored JL cartoon and the DC cartoon line-up is constantly changing anyway. I would think a Green Arrow fig is on their to-do list right beside the other major Justice Leaguers like GL and Aquaman. Thor 2 is a November release, the december release Hobbit has only a single set announced. We will probably only know for sure in October/November when the first 2014 wave gets detailed.
  22. Return it and order it in september. You can even return opened sets and get a full refund given that it´s not too long ago. Great service. The 50$ Iron Man promotion translated to 30€. I believe also 25 pound but I am not sure. The Chrome Vader selling was more of a misunderstanding of the TRU salespeople, it said everywhere the fig would have a worth of 5€ but it was never meant to be sold, only given as an extra to purchases of certain worth. Weren´t you the guy who said they would get released in a set? And even then, I don´t think the price would have ever changed and if you got them for like 20 bucks the situation would be the same, Shirtless Maul and TC-14 cost the same on the aftermarket. For many promotions it worked with sets of every theme because of some bug or other mistake by S@H, so it´s not really set in stone.
  23. This. All rumors are either set wishes, predictions on what LEGO is going to release based on sets they released in the past and leaked lists of full waves. The Dagobah set was first mentioned on Rebelscum where somebody with knowledge read a thread where people talked about three sets they would like for next year (Ewok Village, A-Wing and Dagobah hut) and some dude said "One of you gets his wish fulfilled" or something similar. Now some people think we get all three since the other two were actual sets, which doesn´t really make sense, otherwise that Rebelscum dude would have said we will get all three. Also thank you for going Jason. They just show off the biggest set of the line like the two years (Rancor pit was most expensive, TIE Fighter was physically largest). They say nothing about the rest of the wave. Don´t know what you mean with realistic walking. Hinges will be the same as with every walker and if there is a motor in it I believe they would have announced and demonstrated it already. We will probably just get the walker (who looks the same as the 2008 walker with some different tiles) and have to pay the 20$ difference for three battle droids and the swapping of two shocktroopers against Gree and Tarfull. There is rumor that he is part of a 2014 set and not exclusively a polybag.
  24. Should be the best outcome but getting the figure as it is would be better than nothing. Since when are the web shooters visible? I don´t think we will ever see arm printing in a set ever again, seems like they reserve that only for Collectible figs anymore. Videogames aren´t really that mainstream that LEGO bases their line on them, seeing how their line is more catered to children right now. Arkham Breakout Robin was obviously Arkham games inspired but seeing how he was only in the huge set and the only videogame inspired thing in two years I am sure we won´t get anyone else. Superman doesn´t count, he was NYCC exclusive (not available at SDCC) and everyone knows nobody gives a crap about a Comic-Con other than San-Diego. If only. I hope they finally get on with that rumored JL cartoon. I think legofreak with his Wayne Manor vs. Ra´s Al-Guhl has the strongest case right now. Last episode of BtB the League of Shadows and a guy with a gorilla mask invaded the manor. Seeing how they apparently don´t give a crap about the unknown villains of the show but still want to use that crappy Batman costume and his stuff I can see Wayne Manor, Batman and his allies v.s. Ra´s Al-Guhl and generic ninja assassins or some completely unrelated villain, especially seeing how the Batcave gets phased out and LEGO still has apparently no incentive to do Justice League/other heroes and some of their HQs.
  25. They never made a specific date for ANH so I don´t think they had planned something for that and even if they did it would have to be the summer 2014 wave that would be able to be scrapped by now and replaced with Rebels sets. How long were you away, it´s nearly a year now. And why should we?
