  1. The "nut" brick that pairs with this part cannot slide by hand, only by rotating the "nut" brick itself I got this information from a video review of the set it comes in. Anyway, I think that makes it probably more useful otherwise it will just be a pain in the butt if it could move under its own weight. A motor vibrating would just move it, etc, etc
  2. That fresnel lens piece would indeed look awesome if used as headlight If it was redone in say, red, it would function as like a 2x3x2/3 double slope
  3. Anyone have the LDRAW model for the CADA version?
  4. This set is making me party in my head!, it has an absolute TON of recolors in dark blue. New panel pices in black/dark blue including the trans clear headlights. new CV joints AND it has the black shock absorbers, 3x11 girders, and opening doors, engine, diff, opening bonnet, opening engine cover, suspension, steering and opening engine cover. I wonder if the steering wheel also moves as well as the HOG knob on the roof because I see a few gears used fror the steeringg. I did try to make the tires more low profile, it shaves about half a plate off the diamiter but it requires having 2 ZNAP tires stretched over the rim. But since the wheel arches have quite large gaps anyhow, I think it would be better to just lower the car (but then you would have almost no suspention travel) So I think Ill just leave that as is and focus on hiding the blue and red parts, improving the bodywork, etc.because I want to be able to 'feel' the suspention when I push down on the car.
  5. 6. Black, or pearl dark gray front shocks Black rear 6.5L hard shocks Black harley rims What more could I ask for?
  7. I think I see a new size alternating hole beam on each side in red. It can't be 7L because if it was, you would see it from the top, but the top is all yellow so I think its less than 7L long and would be under the yellow 62531 2x3x11 curved panels. I can also see that it Is more than 3L so it (probably) isn't just an existing part. Thoughts?
  8. WOOHOO I can finally build my ultimate technic 1:8 porsche in dark blue thanks to this sets new recplors! This set itself is very nice as well of course!.
  9. Part 22961 Now in tan (from set 41732) source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVSaV54ELEg
  10. Finished! Here is 42147 my way I replaced the knobs with a beacon (steering) and a fake fuel drum (tipper) and added seats. I dont have the 1x2 half arch bricks so I used 1x2 curved slopes for the mudguards. And of course, I had to move the axle 0.5L forward using this part as a steering hub, so that the wheel would fit in the centre of the mudguards. I also added a tailgate that locks open or closed though it is a little heavy so gravity does not make it swing open and it is not in dark blue. I gave the tipper mechanism more friction so that it does not keep collapsing, and added opening doors. More photos here Regards, snipe
  11. Good work, if you are struggling to fit the 3L drive rings in, I have a file for an off roader that has an 8 speed gearbox. You could just copy bits from that and add in your own bits such as bodywork. PM me if interested, for the file.
  12. What I don't understand, is now on earth the 1x1 round plates are staying inside of the wheels, I have 5 of those rims in black, light bluish gray, and white, and the connection is very unstable when I push a silver 1x1 round plate inside of the recess of the wheels centre hole. Maybe its a new mold or maybe the wheels extra silver coating is making the hole a hair smaller which is holding the place 1x2 in place better.
  13. Couldn't the rear wheels have basic steering if you removed some beams and just have the rear section pivot on the worm gears axle, where the pair of red 3L beams are? The trans orange cone still operates the forks, the steering has no HOG. and by removing the black 4L axle on the bottom front it should allow the forks to tilt forward on the friction pins.
  14. I may pick this set up for christmas, I have 4 low profile tires (85345), and they are slightly larger than the sets original tires. The only problem is, it's a duplo part so there's not many rims that fit the tires and look nice. The rims need to be exactally 4L in diameter just like a 4x4 round brick is. They will still fit under the wheel arches and should look cool.
  15. I don't have any 78666 so I used a simular but too big part for the mudguards. The wheels are now 0.5 foward using the good ol' "axlehole with 4 pins" (32138) connector. And yes , the tipper is (for now) supporting the cabin.. I made the colors as close as possible with the parts I had. regards, Snipe
  16. And even bricklinks color list is incomplete as is ldraw/studio.
  17. I'm thinking about replacing the wheel arches with these: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=78666&colorID=110 Because the lego wheel arch plates that are 4L wide are too deep (2L) but it might mean moving the axle foward by 0.5L because currently the wheels centre points are aligned to a stud, not inbetween them by 0.5L.
  18. well if it can't, just make the pallet struts 1 plate thicker to raise the base up.
  19. Are you wanting to replace the 2 black thin pulleys with a gear?
  20. what part of the hub does the gear mesh with? you can use an 8 tooth gear or an old 16 tooth gear inside of the planetary hubs ball socket, or use baroki eyes with a 6 hole disc to make a 3 tooth bevel gear
  21. The set 42099 does not use this wheel hub, it uses the planetary hubs and I still don't understand, maybe post a picture.
  22. How do you want it to be used with the hub?
  23. Ah, I didn't know the plow moves in 2 axis. Yeah, this is a good set.
  24. Nah just regular orange, I though this set is normal orange and dark blue? Maybe I'm getting mixed up with flame yellowish orange (LDD) bright orange (LDD) orange (bricklink) and bright yellowish orange (bricklink).
