LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Lucarex replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Which is a real shame. As is the lack of a beskar'd up Mando or Heavy guy. Hopefully we'll get a proper Forge set at some point -
Any release date known yet?

2 new HS polybags have leaked... El Fuego (skeleton) being shot out of a cannon (looks more like slightly larger net shooter). Possessed chef (double torso) similar to Shrimp Shack with hotdog stand -

Shame they ruined it using an insane amount of stickers. -

I'm not sure why you'd wait 5 months for Disney+ when you can watch online now. The first season will wrap before Christmas and merch will be everywhere. Your only other option I'm afraid is to go and hibernate in a cave until Spring -
LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I think you speak for many. Can’t wait to see in Lego form with or without tiny-you-know-who! -
Me too. The Chrysler is such a beautiful building, such a shame they chose the dull ESB based on it being more tourist “iconic” of NYC.

I recall it was confirmed to be in a final flagship set of that subtheme, which was subsequently cancelled.

Still holding out hope for the orca that was cancelled from last year’s City Arctic.

The Tokyo set doesn’t disappoint, it’s gorgeous! Whilst it doesn’t have any significant cultural or even aesthetic appeal to me personally, I have to admit the Dubai set also looks well done. And are those chrome gold pieces I spy? Those prices though! 60 notes. Ouch. Sure London raised the bar quite a bit from sweet spot 30s to 40s, and then Shanghai hit the mid 50s, but this is pushing things a bit too far IMO. I’ll still get Tokyo but through gritted teeth.

So, you can just place them back to back? Meh. I still can't see how Jack can move through the portal (the whole idea right?) as either the train or the raising mechanism completely blocks the tunnel. Or does the lowered train carriage end have a working door that represents the other side of the portal ? Or am I completely missing the point about "fitting together"? Thematically/story wise sure, but not really in terms of physical connection or play features. -

So, we can now see the back of the Subway set, which should put those blue foliage rumours/suggestions of it connecting to the Portal set to bed. (click on image) -

Sadly I think even that’s optimistic. Unless they seriously improve the app, release a tv series or some specials really building out the story (alongside the newly launched magazine), and most importantly, step up with wave 3 sets really utilising the transformative play features, I think this theme will be done after next summer. Which will be a massive shame. Out of interest, I see this has a release date of August 2020 Guide to Ghost Hunting with Minifigure (Lego Hidden Side) You’d have thought it’d have been ready for August 2019 launch or by now at least. Recall that was the case with the Nexo BOM guide. -
Disagree. Spongebob's appeal is classic (even to adults) and far eclipses those other two.

Couldn’t agree more. Didn’t get the High School set in the end (tempted on 30% discount but lack of space) seeing all the transformative ghostly play features in person was impressive and is or rather was, clearly the USP of this theme. There’s no doubt that wave 2 has notably stepped back from this creativity, and is far less appealing as a result. The Lighthouse is a must-have much more for the aesthetic than anything else, and the Portal likewise will sell well for its great minifigs and price point. The rest will warm shelves, which combined with the lacklustre app, won’t bode well for waves 3 and 4, with the latter looking increasingly vulnerable to being axed. -

Nope, still can’t see how Portal and Subway connect to each other. Think that’s just creative wishful thinking based on a tiny bit of azure foliage. Guess the reverse box art (today?) will confirm either way. -

Thanks! I thought that about removing the colour wheel app thingie and if your estimate is correct, I’ll have to as I’m a few mm off as it stands. -

Well they “killed” and ghostified Spencer so all bets are off. I guess we’ll find out soon enough, either in the next animated YT episode or issue 3 of the magazine. I’m more interested in what’s happened to gloomed (or hypothermia-suffering) Jack in the Portal set. Whilst I personally love the box art, I think there’s the valid discussion to be had that it harms sales, as makes it hard to identify sets on the shelf. -

Can anyone possibly calculate the approx width (and height) of the Lighthouse from the pics? I have a specific shelf gap next to the Old Fishing Store and wonder if it’ll fit... -

NEW set images have been officially released!!! The lighthouse is the pick of the crop for me, as expected The spooky tree set and ghosts look good, but the other sets particularly vehicles are utterly disappointing same as with wave 1. Lots to discuss... -

Not to mention Spencer who “chased one car too many” to become a ghost dog as revealed in the first HS magazine. -
Where did you find it? Supposed to be out today but nowhere near me has it yet. Can you post cover? Thanks

Apparently (a local independent retailer near me) there have been some heavy-handed cease and desist type warning letters sent out for leaks and breaching embargo dates. Biting the hand that feeds them just it isn’t worth the hassle.
