Yeah agreed. Yet even though there is a clear size range in the official modulars those early ones still bring out the esteemed-captain-professor-emeritus-patron-doctor-of-honors-sir-noble-modular-experts going into everyone's MOC thread and telling people that they need to make theirs bigger and add x-amount of bricks to every floor.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
That's clearly a Minecraft set. -
@Pdaitabird make a move!

One upside for Bricklink is that they're getting a lot more traffic from me ever since BrickSET has forced a member login just to view Lego set part inventories. Why force a login in order to view what the other site provides without one. Or is this the beginning of the end for simply viewing what parts came in what set.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Not bad, I see the matrimony theme continues and they now have a child. And no stickers! But the modulars went fleshie so booooooo. -
Get over to Eurobricks Town forum. Its free and just about all of the best Lego modular builders in the world are there. Endless inspiration. Also check out this group on flickr: Lego Techniques

Yeah I went through and I think I got all of the minifigure scale buildings from those 15 pages, a number that are not technically in the modular connection-rule/baseplate (vs modular base) or 16-stud width increment technicalities but I threw them in as per the discussion and points that you raised. I agree I think they're fine to inclue but if it should only be those that are built within the modular rules then you all can decide that. And again if I missed any and anyone wants to check or just submit theirs then please do so! I think its a cool idea just to compile all the years builds into one place to show all the great creations and inspire others to make their own.

Following the link LegoModularFan posted, here we go. Note that based on the questions posed I will not distinguish between "official" modular standard connections and buildings that are build in the modular scale, if it should change then say so. Let me know if any are missed, if anything was missed it was not intentional as thats 15 pages to go through. Starting from page 15 and working towards front page it goes link to thread followed by picture for said thread's build.

Is This Factory Sealed With Tape?
koalayummies replied to jclark50's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah that looks legitimate. Larger boxes are typically taped like that. And that number/letter sequence actually helps them track batches if you were to call in and report a broken or missing piece they sometimes ask for that. -
The Brothers Brick did a most excellent job with question preparation for that interview yesterday. Brought up some really fantastic points. That was some good Lego journalism.

I was so excited when I saw this pop up on flickr. One of the best city MOCers is back at it again with yet another gorgeous creation. I love French architecture so this is quite a pleasure to look at with so much thought and detail inside and out. I say this with every one of your builds, fantastic work Jalemac34!

Thanks the both of you! Thanks ER0L! I agree that the best fire truck MOCs are 8-wide but I just have a preference for the current city standard of 6 wide. I may break apart the fire truck and try it out as 8 wide as I've always wanted to give it a try. They certainly do look the best in terms of scale since fire apparatus are downright huge compared to most other vehicles found in a city. And yeah I haven't submitted a single thing to Ideas and you probably won't ever see that from me. Aside from the fact that 99% of what I MOC is part of an existing or previous-but-no-longer-approved theme, and I'm just not a huge self promoter or social media user but most importantly I'm in it for the fun of building and the sharing of said builds for inspiration. Thanks again!

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
koalayummies replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ok now we have to see this mountain lion versus alligator battle. Make it happen. -
Fantastic build. Really captures that older car look. And I like the wide use of unique pieces to achieve these excellent results. Great MOC!

Could ABS plastic leach into food?
koalayummies replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I am always leaning about plastic here. Everything I know about plastic I learned from EB. Except that connecting transparent clear to another transparent clear is a risky endeavor. My fingertips learned that one. -
Welcome! And off to a most excellent start. This is a fantastic station and great MOC to kick off the winter village fanfare. Fantastic photography and presentation as well. You should stick around!

Lol thanks Captain Dee! Thank you all of you. Yeah the pearl gold trimmings are an homage to how spotless and pristine firefighters keep their equipment and apparatuses. They take such pride in keeping everything so clean and shiny. Thanks Neonic. Thanks Adwind. That's a lot of the mindset during the building, what would I have liked as a kid. Especially with all of the pieces and colors we have access to now versus back then.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Not even close. Its been stated that the Town forum is on the low end for requiring moderator attention. We should really try to keep it that way. -
Will there be any black friday deals on Amazon US?
koalayummies replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Your avatar matches the feeling some will have after reading this post. I googled and found this: https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-ucs-millennium-falcon-75192-amazon-black-friday-2019-sale/ https://fortune.com/2019/11/18/amazon-black-friday-2019-deals-ad-echo-fire-tv-stick-kindle-audible-prime-video/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/reviewedcom/2019/11/20/amazon-black-friday-amazon-just-released-their-black-friday-preview/4238905002/ -
Thanks Alex B! Thanks Peedeejay. Yeah it was essential to include an interior and really wanted the stretcher piece to fit as well. Its always a tight fit in 6/7 wide. Thanks Bornin1980something. Yeah the inspiration is American emergency apparatus and ambulance. The engine is based off of American 'Quint' style fire apparatus (loosly based off KME/Peirce/Rosenbauer etc they're all very similar in appearance) and the ambulance is based off all of the North American style boxy ambulances (from a handful of manufacturers they all look basically the same). I find I get better results building in the style of a particular vehicle for City rather than to trying to make an exact replica. The livery is something I've used before but is similar to FDNY color scheme.
-
The fire department has invested in a pair of new emergency response vehicles. The new firefighting apparatus is a quintuple combination ladder and engine. Capable of aerial device, pump, tank, hose lines and ground ladders. The ambulance is a Type 1 configuration on a truck chassis similar to the engine with advanced life support capabilities. Once inside the ambulance the crew can begin valuable life saving medical aid.

Thanks both of you! I thought it would be a fun way to display the small number of still-not-complete figures I have and I can't really foresee using some of those brightly colored hairpieces and accessories. From here on out I'm with the rest of this thread in anxiously waiting the remainder of parts to complete minifigure rainbow.

But the original post asks for new ideas?
