Do you have any example part images to link to? I'm sure there's a bunch of us that would like to see. If they're going to do that then maybe they'll switch to the official Lego color names as well? So long tan, bright light orange, flesh, light bluish grey etc. Hello Brick Yellow, Flame Yellowish Orange, Nougat, Medium Stone Grey etc?

You always find such excellent use of uncommon or in this case unexpected parts like the orange leaf pieces in the hair. Amazing!

My goodness this is so cool. Perfection throughout. Its visually fascinating from every angle. What a great idea and excellent execution. I vote for frontpage this. Great work.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
koalayummies replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Lego Shop at Home shipment (Indiana) delay was probably due to a pileup from 'Black Friday' sales. I placed a small order as well on the 29th, shipped on the 5th, arrived the 13th, considering the date the order was placed that's to be expected. It was probably really hectic in that warehouse. And they've never wanted damaged/defective or broken pieces returned from my experience, they just send the replacement. -
LEGO Ideas Discussion

That's a clever adaptation of the sushi conveyor belt construction from Ninjago City. Not too keen on there being clown fish though like one of the update videos, the point of Finding Nemo was decidedly anti-fish-captivity (though apparently a lot of viewers didn't get that). -
[MOC] 10255 Assembly Square alternative build
koalayummies replied to Inyongbricks's topic in LEGO Town
This is one of the most impressive alternate builds I've ever seen. It can be really challenging to work within the confines of set-supplied pieces to come up with something that's both different and cool and you have certainly done both. Really great work. -
Incredibly beautiful build. Love the flowing snow, unique parts usage like the pirate cannon chimney, chopped logs and the sled. All the different parts used for various snow-covered plants add so much detail as well. Its wonderful to look at, great work!

Absolutely stunning. You have such a clean style throughout all of your builds and most excellent presentation. The entire seen you've made is gorgeous and I especially like the brown and white building. Fantastic work!

Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?

Attention TLG: this guy is now going to tell you how to make your multi-billion dollar company even more successful. -
Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
koalayummies replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You made a claim with nothing to back it up whatsoever, got called out on it, tried to tell everyone not to talk about what you claimed, others didn't let it go because they don't have to and then you finally admitted that it is just your "feeling" that the number you spouted is significantly higher than the last reputable statistic. TLG is a privately owned company that doesn't have to release sales figures in order to placate adults on the internet to make them feel more special and important than they really are, so those are the last reputable figures that are available. The last reputable source happens to be 9 years old, that doesn't mean that everyone stopped having kids that like Lego, nor does it mean that a significant and unprecedented surge of adults are suddenly Lego-famished. "I know a guy who knows a guy" does not make a statement a fact, it is not reputable, it is not evidence. If anything there's a decent chance its a flat out lie. Others are free to question your idea that adult sales have grown 35% in ten years to represent more than a third of TLGs sales. The only thing all of this explains is why you're always upset in the town forum that Lego isn't catering to your every desire; because you think that you're more important to the company than you actually are. You think AFOLs represent 40% of their total sales so they should be reading all the internet complaints and wishes and make it right for you. TLG is a private company, they're in business to make money, they've been doing it for 87 years, they surpassed Mattel a few years ago to become the world's largest toy company by revenue and you think TLG is doing something wrong and doesn't know its own sales figures and market. Ok. -
Has LEGO ever listened to AFOLs? If so, when?
koalayummies replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah. It's been asked and answered on here over the years directly to those whom confirmed work for Lego and the answer has always hovered at or below 10%. Parents buying for their kids is the vast majority. "I was at Walmart and saw someone pick up a set, look at it and put it back on the shelf therefore it is definitely not selling well" -type of anecdotal bull is just time wasting personal opinion made up nonsense and should never be touted as evidence or proof of anything despite that it is touted as such all the time. AFOLs contribute a little under 5% of LEGO sales What percentage of LEGO sales are to AFOLs? What percentage of LEGO fans are adults versus children? How much of Lego's total sales come from AFOLs? "Far less than afols would like to believe." @pooda Trolls don't link, trolls spout anecdotes and personal opinions as facts and then back away under a bridge when called out on them. -

"Afols represent 40% of total Lego sales" "Yeah ok, whats your source?" "An insider" "Anything at all to substantiate?" "No" "Ok well then its bs" "Fine I just kind of pulled it out of my backside" "Alright well then thats fine!!! :highfives and kisses: " How could you let that go. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
That was the logic that was being employed. Its big, lots of people use it, normal people use it, watching movies while they use it, playing videogames while they use it. They drive a bus, they see lots of people riding the bus, people take it to work. I wasn't disputing that buses are used. People use it therefore they like it was the thesis being promoted. That its a flawed conclusion is what was being demonstrated. That logic was the basis for several responses since the previous page. However as demonstrated above based on mentions in this thread buses are mentioned a fraction as much as the other discussed building subjects. Therefore it is not as desired a subject matter as the others, was my conjecture. -

Thanks for jumping in with a much needed additional anecdotal observation. Everyone you see riding a bus absolutely loves it, you have convinced me now I was so wrong. Thank you. Just like the Department of Motor Vehicles. 225 million licensed drivers in the US, wow they must love going to the DMV. That's irrefutable. Every last one of them loves it because they all use it. Next modular: DMV. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The guy who's been directly quoted by a moderator saying they were just "pushing guy's buttons for fun". Shocking response there. What assumptions? Lets compare the various suggestions. Seaching this thread for the word "Bus" (not even depot or stations thus expanding the results as wide as possible) has 3 pages of mentions. Half of them relating to the Pop Up Party bus and London bus sets, and a bulk are related to the last two pages of discussion (about a third of the mentions of the word "bus" are just from you alone). "Post office" has 28 pages of results. "Police Station" has 27 pages of results. "Museum" has 11 pages of results. "School" has 6 pages of results. So my assumption that a post office, police station, museum or school would be preferable to a bus station appear correct based on the discussion. Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Haha hooray for buses and anecdotes. In the second largest city in the US, a city with the 5th largest economy in the world you can't pry people out of their cars to take the bus. They'll gladly sit in traffic to not have to deal with those aspects of bus riding (and you're only scratching the surface there). The LA Metro ridership statistics back this up, people don't want to ride the bus even though sure it can be easier (except for that whole last mile problem), lower carbon footprint and less expensive than vehicle ownership, operation and maintenance provided you don't get stabbed while waiting for it or riding. Talking enjoyment and what people think and actually do (or can afford to do), you might anecdotally prefer it, but the statistics for entire US cities say otherwise. Lego just had a city bus set so that wraps that up nicely. We'll see another urine covered heroin needle filled body odor soaked meth cloud permeated bus that only gets you to within 2.3 miles of your destination in the rain and snow 15 minutes late in another couple of years. Until then I wager most would welcome a police station, school, museum, post office, tailor, courthouse modular way more than an expansive concrete roundabout bus depot modular. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Because buses are insanely boring. Nobody wants to ride the bus. The bus is only ridden for lack of other means or options. Especially in the United States the city bus is more a constant reminder of economic/income inequality and housing cost issues than it is of a city service. The only buses people want to ride are tourists visiting London that want pictures of those ancient red double-decker buses. -
They would probably love to sell everything everyone wants right now (especially all the things that one afol who complains about everything wants if it'll pacify him for just a moment) but they have to manage production limitations and the patient but prudent desire to boost the post holiday quarter sales.

Wonderful Peedeejay! You have a way with exterior facades, always an elegant blend of realistic subdued tones to achieve a sophisticated look. I really like this one. Love the snot-work to achieve detail and fraction of stud depths on the face of the structure. Fantastic and detailed interior that feels like a real city police squadroom. Most excellent work.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yeah its weird, they gave the set in advance for the review so did they give bad press notes as well? Went to sleep thinking it was $200 based off that video. And if it is free and you get to keep it it does seem like a payment for endorsement. I don't typically watch review videos but Jangbricks is pretty good. That Adsense money also looks like nice living. -

You'd think if TLG is going to hand over an expensive set like that for free before anyone else gets it he could at least get the retail price correct. Must be nice to not know what the things you have actually cost to all the regulars.
