4 posts in and you've already got it! Go by those criteria and you'll be well sorted in no time. For big pile sorts I grab the biggest pieces first and do similar pieces at a time using two hands to grab one piece size each, for example 2x8s in right hand hand and 2x6s in left hand, then 2x4 and 2x3 and so on. Also recommend going by what you most use or think you'll most use. For example a Technic builder's draw organization would likely look a lot different from this/mine: Plates! Bricks! Frequently used: Some pieces just won't fit in many drawer sizes (or they're not easy to grab from the drawers) like these large plates. With all drawers basically full or taken the other larger or incredibly abundant parts get their own containment: angle/round bricks, angle/round plates, hinges/clips and doors/windows/walls: In addition to this there are 3 unsorted plastic tubs. Once you start it is never ending!

That complaint checklist at the end is both very accurate and hilarious. They just can't win!

Behold! Minifigures frolicking with dinosaurs at the moment of creation! This has once and for all dis-proven evolution. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

[MOC] Buffalo Creek & Gauley 2-8-0 #13
koalayummies replied to Glenn Holland's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Really gorgeous steam engine. Hard to imagine getting any more more detail at that scale, you've build a beautiful masterpiece. Fantastic work! -
Its downright impressive! A really awesome and huge brick built tyrannosaurus. It would be great even as a standalone without the main gate but I can see why they included it. Roughly $0.08 a piece isn't too bad for licensed and there's a lot of great angled plates and curved pieces in all the delicious brown colors. If I was loaded it would be a definite acquisition. Can't wait to see the construction process.

Thanks Robert8! Thanks deraven, it was nice to get to use those green pieces as they stand out a bit much for most of my color tastes. Thanks ExeSandbox! Thanks Feng-huang0296. The Elves dragon/dino hodgepodge is actually my favorite because its so goofy and cartoony and matches well with the odd blue raptor bodies while also making it slightly less terrifying. But Emmet shouldn't have tried riding it!

Rex is extremely obsessed with raptors so he finally got the procedure he's always wanted. Of course he couldn't let his old head go to waste... Thanks to Rex's odd color scheme choice a bunch of parts can now be utilized in upgraded Rextreme fashion! Rextreme wheelbarrow!!! Rextreme buttskisurfing! Rextreme doubleskateboardrocket! And since we're messing with raptors, Emmet brought one to Elves land and things are getting a bit out of control.

Thank you again Bob De Quatre, thank you Jim, Eurobricks, everyone who participated and voted and Lego. The Rexplorer has arrived safely after a very long voyage across vast distances. Spaceship. EB is the only place to be.

I'm completely lost here now. We're talking about those yellow things from despicable me? Or something else? -

Super detailed landing craft and your thorough explanations demonstrate your knowledge on the subject. And perfect timing sharing it today. Excellent MOC. -
Photo Contest: Scenes for the Corner Garage

This is going to be great, an awesome contest for Town Forum and an amazing prize! Can't wait to see what all the Lego City gearheads (and there's a lot of them!) come up with. -

Thanks deraven and corasaur. I typically like to keep my builds within the realm of what Lego would find acceptable but have been on a bit of an environmental theme as of late and the subject of deep water drilling is rather fascinating and somewhat worrying. Those responsible will be held accountable for the full cost of containment and cleanup. Thanks. And yeah I didn't want to show a total and complete failure so its just subsea blowout at this point and the rig hasn't caught fire or sank. Thanks Retro. The red thingy is the derrick surrounding the drilling equipment. Was just a bit limited in replicating the typically tapered truss look at this scale.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
koalayummies replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Every so often I get parts in an order that I did not request or pay for and each time I call Lego to let them know and ask if they want me to return them (they always say no). Three separate times its been a bunch of pieces; 1x8 tiles in white approximately 30, a Technic pin coupling piece that I think I stopped counting after 40 and the blue 1x3 Technic pins that were far into the double-digits. I'm usually so excited that I often forget to count and check each piece I did order, but the pieces that I know I didn't order stand out. So I guess I'm on the opposite end of the order errors, must have received someone else's parts which makes me feel bad because depending on where they live (and whether Megbricks is online ) it could be a while before they finally get them. -
A semi-submersible drilling platform suffers a catastrophic subsea well blowout.

Beautiful little hotdog stand! And immaculate photography. Fantastic MOC and presentation.

What is your favorite LEGO-related song?
koalayummies replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Everything's not awesome, things can't be awesome all of the time, its not a realistic expectation, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to make everything awesome, in a less idealistic kind of way... Might do some AFOL some good to really pay attention to the lyrics. -
Brilliant! Hyper-realistic detail all over; it looks so great. The articulation, the engine, railings and that shovel are beautiful. Fantastic work.
-
Perfection! I like the liberties you've taken with the brickheadz form/standards and your resultant creation is spot-on accurate. The open singing mouth is excellent as is making the torso a bit more rotund than the standard brickhead. Fantastic work. Nessun Dorma!

Thank you for setting up this contest Bob De Quatre, it was the most fun and challenging contests I've participated in and also by far the most interesting concept. Thanks to everyone who liked my builds, I'm really humbled you liked them. And thanks to everyone who entered, all of the MOCs and spaceship transformations were all so varied, imaginative and creative and are a great inspiration for the fun that can be had with a fresh idea.

Seriously incredible work. The dedication of super massive building scale and building 1x1 at a time is astonishing. Mind blown! Keep up the amazing building.

LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
koalayummies replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Trevor Noah/Daily Show May 9th episode just had a funny bit about the $40K worth of meth that was found inside a Lego box that was bought at a thrift store. "lets go sell this meth so we can buy more Legos[sic]" -
Have LEGO Movies become extended advertisements?
koalayummies replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This should be really obvious but Lego is a toy company not a production company. They're in the business of making and selling toys not besting Citizen Kane or Amadeus. -
Is there a moral duty to publish instructions?
koalayummies replied to astral brick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If they're on flickr and still displayed on Ideas then how are they lost forever? In any case the answer to your question for many is no and this is why: unauthorized-selling-of-instructions-for-mocs Cliffnotes: someone else taking credit for other's builds, selling them without creator's consent and generating a good chunk of profit off of both the sales and the adsense revenue.- 10 replies
