10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
zoth33 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The visors were in the Cmf with the good knight in grey. I can't remember which series though. I think it will be $160 like last time I believe in the US. I really didn't think we would get a goat to be honest would have been nice but I will take a cow, I just hope it's a different color from the city one for some variety. That's a possibility. I'm sure there will be some castle stuff in there and space to go with the new spaceship. I get you on the gift with purchase but there are some sets that I still want to pick up so that will be as I will be getting the viking 3in1 and some other sets. I think this set is a great deal with the ppp ratio and the minifigs and animals plus looks like new flags and possibly capes with printing.- 2,976 replies

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons - one step closer?
zoth33 replied to AmperZand's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Ok but it doesn't have to be based off the game like I said it can be based off the books or like sir blake said the new movie. Even if they did base it off the game there are several guides they could pull characters from. But let's go your root and do it game like and give the set a multitude of minifg parts to make your own character and a map or a board. Then they could expand from there like a tavern or ruins or castle. Yes or like I said any of the books would be fine like Forgotten realms or Dragonlance. -

Are you saying the WOT show was fantastic or the books? I like the books and the story is good. I would take WOT sets absolutely even if based off of the show but I doubt we will get them. As for your point with D&D that goes for any form of game or art, If we both read the WOT we will both get something different from the stories or if we both look at a piece of art we will both have different views of what it is. everyone will not have the same experience with lego sets either so I'm not getting what you are trying to say. We each see things differently and that's the great thing with Lego you can make it whatever you want. -

Yeah Darkwalker on Moonshae by Niles was just so bad I never finished the trilogy. I did like Niles dragonlance the emperor of Ansalon book. I'm reading the way of kings by Sanderson now from the stormlight archives. -

Yes I liked Forgotten Realms as well. Drizzt would be a must if we get D&D. There are some bad Forgotten Realms books though the moonshae islands books were really badly written. Another Character I liked was Geran Hulmaster from the blades of moonsea books. -

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons - one step closer?

Yes there are many books to pull material from also. I would love stuff from the Dragonlance chronicles I loved those stories when I was younger and the parallels to LOTR were so obvious but I still liked the characters. And the Dragons in Lego form would be great. I actually think if they used Dragonlance as an inspiration it would be great and kids would love the characters and the dragons. -
Yeah that's my main complaint as well the regular minifigs are just more posable especially the legs. As for the rest of it there are people in every forum on here that complain about their favorite or non-favorite themes it's just something that some people like to do.

LEGO Dungeons & Dragons - one step closer?

That would be interesting. With the recent success of Critical Role and the Legend of Vox Machina and how adult oriented that is I don't know if lego would touch it. I think they would be better off with WOW or raid shadow legends or even tap into the Elden Ring/Dark souls hype right now. Personally I think they should do something that has some bigger media presence. If they still had the Middle Earth license that would be great although I think the show might suck. I think the biggest thing fantasy wise coming this year will be House of the Dragons on HBO but lego won't touch that. D&D has some great lore and characters. Lego did a Ninjago wave that was basically like a D&D game and that seemed pretty well received. The witcher is out of the question too. WOT was bad and season 2 doesn't sound much better. The only things left would be something like if they adapt mistborn or stormlight archives that would be interesting. There is also a Magic the Gathering show coming maybe they would go that way also. Maybe even pathfinder. Really if they did anything like D&D I would be all for it I just don't think It will be D&D. If they did do D&D we might get some Baldur's Gate stuff that would be good. Fantasy Properties are being adapted all over now they need to see this and they could really make some great sets if they get the right design team and a good property to work with. -
This is interesting because there are some Afol's here that really liked the Elves line including myself and have several sets. I think a lot of the complaints with the friends line is the animal molds being to cartoony and they don't fit in with the city or regular system lego. Also the minidolls aren't as customizable as minifigs so there is some complaints about that. I do find that friends have some nice parts and some of the animals are ok. This just isn't a theme I am personally interested in but do find that it works really well for their target demographic. Anything that brings new parts and colors is a plus in my opinion. Those people you speak of are probably just a few that don't have anything better to do I wouldn't worry to much. As I've said in the past you can't please everyone. I really enjoy castle/fantasy and there a lot of fans not happy until recently with blacksmith shop and the 3in1 castle about lego's willingness to make castle sets. But I've actually found interesting parts and minifigs in other themes to fill in the several year gap between castle sets. Like I said before Elves had some nice dragons and parts. I even have the Elvenstar tree really nice build. I take a lot from Ninjago and Monkie kids especially the dragons and a lot of the figs are useful. Even some of the super hero stuff especially the Marvel side has great figs that can be used for customization for fantasy like green goblin, outriders, chitauri, sakarran, atlanteans, etc. Harry Potter even has some great elements and figs. I know from what I've seen many don't seem to mind friends theme at all I think more of the complaints are with the friendified animals and the lack of overall customization and moveability of the minidolls. There are some nice minidolls from the elves line unfortunately I don't have those figs. But I really think it's a small number of people you are encountering that probably post a lot more often.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
zoth33 replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yeah some sets are expensive. This year looks like I'm going to have to prioritize sets and pieces off of pick a brick because there are so many large and expensive sets I want this year. It really comes down to the build and the minifigs. Definitely picking up Heavenly Realms and a bunch of the ninjago sets, The Hungarian horntail and maybe another HP set, and of course the castle coming this year. I'm really hoping that pick a brick comes back up so we can get the farm animals and pieces we need.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

Your comparing a licensed set to this which has no bearing. The star wars are licensed and the stuntz sets have new pricey molds. The MK sets seem to have leveled out in price with the new wave especially the Heavenly realms set but will have to see with prices of a smaller set. There is no way it's only 2000 parts, I hope you are being sarcastic. I'm hoping the figs have the quality of the new ninjago sets and a great looking castle with some horses like the good old days.- 2,976 replies

Great idea. I'm just happy for the recolor. The Monkie kid Heavenly realms set has some great figs. The new crown piece and the new print for the monkey king are great. The whole set looks wonderful and will look great next to Flower fruit mountain. Groot looks like he could be used as a terrifying troll or something of that sort. -
I really love this wave. The Crystal King looks fantastic. I will be getting the whole wave I think at this point maybe leave out the mech. The dragon ninja are great. These pieces are going to make for some great customizable figs too.

You really need to Flower Fruit mountain is such a great set. The Heavenly realms set looks great. Hopefully I will have enough money to buy all these sets I want between Ninjago, HP, SW, and the upcoming 90th anniversary set this year is going to be so expensive. Plus hopefully pick a brick will be back up to get some of the new animals or otherwise I'm buying the farm sets too.

Yeah neither do I. My youngest son wants to go to legoland in NY this year. Our summer is pretty busy so will have to wait and see if we can make it out there. -

The Ninjago sets have some great parts especially the villains headpiece, Lloyds golden oni mask, and the previously known dragon wing on the minifigs. Also the dragon head on the ninjas masks is nice. There is a hare recolor in the city set. The city animal rescue set also has the flying owl and a baby panther and crocodile. Mickey's castle set could have a nice torso from mickey its hard to see. The Ninjago 4+ set has some dragon wings and a recolor on a dragon head. It looks ok. -

The farm animals look great. I'll probably wait and see if they will come out on pick a brick and see what the prices are. That new corn piece looks great. I like the brown chickens I just wish they did other colors too, two chickens is not enough for a chicken coop and where is the rooster?.
