Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
GarmaFan replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Tommy Andreasen did say it'd be spoilers to say if he was an Oni or not. He might not appear, but maybe we'll learn something about him. Could even incorporate his Legacy design into a flashback from long before time had a name.- 4,591 replies

Makes sense, like the War Rig/Dieselnaut confusion. From what I've heard, it's a vehicle that is a helicopter mixed with a shuriken.
-
The vagueness of those names is kinda setting off my fake set radar ("Lloyd's Adventures??"), but I guess I trust this. The other waves don't say much in the set names either. Weird that Cole doesn't have a Spinjitzu set, but he has a motorcycle, so he's alive. The Forgotten Emperor sounds interesting.. maybe Season 11 explores Ninjago's royalty or something.

I really think they should stop saying words like "final" and "ending" in trailers.. this is getting ridiculous. We know Ninjago's not ending any time soon. I mean, Bragi Schut's confirmed to be the new writer (he needs something to write, doesn't he?), Tommy Andreasen says there's a "bright future" all the time so at the least they're working on 2020 right now, and he still says things like "maybe in the future" so there's going to be a future to maybe do things. Ninjago is still very successful for LEGO. When Ninjago is cancelled, they'll say "Ninjago is cancelled", not hype up ten more years one day and then "lol it's over" the next. And if that did happen, it'd be like Nexo Knights where budgetary plans fell through or something.

Yeah. No new locations, nothing to make a set about. Maybe at least they'll make a stronghold in Ninjago City though?
-
They don't though, they were confused by the Police Commisioner mentioning a pirate genie in Season 8.
-
Yeah, that's weird. I'm guessing since Tommy Andreasen himself wrote them, they're canon though.
-
I guess people were kind of right about how this would be tied in and the reason for the inconsistencies. Really glad these are just mini-movies though instead of the whole special/season being about them, or them taking time away from the Oni. Or the Oni shapeshifting into villains. Of course.. this also means we truly do know basically nothing about what will happen in Season 10. We've been never been this in the dark before..
-
Looks like we've finally got Legacy's relation to the show, and the content Tommy said would be coming first: these new animated clips. https://www.lego.com/en-us/campaigns/kids/ninjago/legacy And with that out of the way.. I think it's safe to say Season 10 is going to be all Oni.

January 1, maybe?
-
Maybe when the website updates for 2019 there'll be some details. Or it'll just be about the Legacy wave.
-
He deleted that story and said on Twitter that it "doesn't match up".
-
Maybe there's a store exclusive set with the Oni. I don't know, even if they do take the form of old villains, it seems like it would be really weird of LEGO to just not make minifigures out of them. The Oni in teaser looks cool and distinguished enough for a figure. It looks like the Oni are just taking over Ninjago City instead of the Ninja going to where ever they were, so maybe there's no interesting new locations to make sets out of? Which would make me concerned about the season's quality..

There's no summer sets leaks yet to know that.

Season 10 is the four episode special that is the 88 minute movie.- 4,591 replies

Season 10 is the special that is a TV movie.
-
No. This is the special. It's also the season. It's also the movie. There is no Legacy special. It's a four episode season, that will air as a tv special. And maybe a movie. So.. I think all the speculation about the Legacy sets being canon through time-travel and old villains coming back is over. Just Oni.

Unless it's a mistake, odd that it's called "Season 10" instead of just a "special".. Unless it's officially Season 10, but he doesn't personally consider it that.- 4,591 replies

There were set leaks last December, too. Maybe that'll happen again.. weird to think about how close the year is to being over.
-
My guess is that the summer wave will have a mix of special and 2HY 2019 show sets.
-
According to ninja whip, the summer 2019 sets are going to be really good. So.. that's cool. ..is there some kind of top-secret leaker club..
-
The comics are non-canon, but they reflect what's going on in the current installment though, right? Essentially acting as stuff that could happen between episodes? Well.. the Dragons and Hunters are apparently cool with each other now. Only one other group of beings native to the First Realm that's still antagonistic to both of them and is big enough of a threat for the Dragons to bring Wu back.. not a lot of options there. Unless it really is just filler and it's a rogue group of Dragon Hunters that are still loyal to Iron Baron or something. ..or it's the remake villains.
-
Well.. what else is there that wasn't settled by the end of Hunted? Getting over Harumi?
-
That makes more sense, but Tommy Andreasen's been saying that it'd be the conclusion of a 24-episode arc and SoG and Hunted's story. If it doesn't involve the Oni, wouldn't it make more sense for the next season to be called the conclusion? Harumi's dead, Mr. E's revealthe Sons of Garmadon are in jail, the Dragon Hunters are good now, and Garmadon is powerless. What else could be being concluded? I guess killing Garmadon off again would technically count since it's what started this in the first place? Then.. the Oni isn't technically a part of the SoG-Hunted arc.. but a sequel?

I guess their designs probably don't leave much room for variety, but most of the enemies are clones except for the main antagonist. I'm guessing a potential "Oni Warlord" would look more extravagant. They could have different markings, different chest patters, maybe different skin colors considering the Oni Masks.. And they're kind of major to just not make sets out of them. If they're in the special, I'm guessing at the least there'd be a couple sets based off of it in the Summer sets. Like how the DoD wave had some Skybound sets. And uh, maybe an odd take considering this franchise is what it is, but the Oni shapeshifting into previous villains to justify the remake wave sounds like the most transparently toyetic thing ever. It just.. sounds like a reach even for Ninjago imo.
