Hey, impressive build. I really like the cabin and the chassis. Would be really great if you could share the LDD, photos, brick list or just whatever you have :)

The journey started when Lego released the 42030 Volvo L350F Wheel Loader. I immediately fell in love with its bucket and I knew that I have to build an Excavator with it. The first prototype arm was finished within an evening and I was quite happy with it although I quickly realized that something does not fit. It also had a mechanical flaw where the gears did not excactly match. But it worked. The real problem was that I also needed a solid base that was able to hold the arm and lift it as well. And there my real problem started since I basically had no idea how to build it. I then crawled the whole internet for some inspirations. But in the end all there was was the arm. I actually put the whole thing aside and it rest there for almost a year with no real attempt to improve it. After this long period I thought I give it another try and I just started to build the base with no real idea how it should look like in the end. And here's how it looked after some days. I guess I just built the one and only excavator with a real harddrive for stabilization. One user here in the forum actually mentioned that it's required for mining data :-) It contained so many flaws that I was quite frustrated: - without the harddrive it would not turn - directly attached XL motors are way to fast - arm still has the not properly aligned gearing problem In fact I nearly just smashed it. But I remembered all the nice Lego MOC excavators that I found when I was loocking for improvements. So there must be a way to make it better I thought. Since the arm was quite ok but far from being a good one I knew that I have to start from scratch. I googled for real excavator images that I liked and finally downloaded a pdf from the Volvo's website where I found all the details I needed to start with. At about that time Lego released the 42042 Crawler Crane and after some calculations I decided to take its base for the excavator. I then recalculatet all the numbers of the real Volvo Excavator and started building my new (hopefully) improved version of it. And here's how it currently looks: It's fully remotely controllable. No SBricks yet but those can be added without problems. More will follow...

With the control sliders you gonna use in the app you have a soft start integrated. But it doesn't come with a dedicated soft start function.- 780 replies

Would be great if support for the X-Box Game Pad would be possible. No idea though if it has the required hardware support. Any more information about the coming SBrick Plus? Regarding BuWizz: The problem is actually that in my opionion SBrick is a far more mature product. And it will take at least a year if they want to cathcup with the SBrick. The only hardware difference is the integrated Battery wher I first thought I need this because the Lego rechargable ones are not really cheap. And charging the battery requires a special charger whereas the BuWizz can be charged by USB.- 780 replies

Can't wait for more information. Wanted to buy some new ones but now I'll wait. Support for a standard bluetooth controller would just be great! Also thought in supporting the Kickstarter project of the new thingy with integrated battery. But despite its small size and integrated battery it doesn't come with advantages for me.- 780 replies

This is a model I built together with my son. He actually started building the frame and I added the technic parts. Functions - Open/Close front door - Open/Close back door - Turn cannon - Rotate cannon (shoot) - Lift cannon - Have fun with it :-)

The harddisk is actually used to store its program on it. It's a fairly complex one that's why I had to use a 2TB disk. Will post more about this funny harddisk moc soonish. Stay tuned. :) -

Out in nature and grabbed directly from the video. -
This is just a really impressive MOC! Really love how it looks. Do you have some technical instructions for it (LDD, pictures, pdf, ...)?

Is it ok to create a new topic about an excavator MOC prototype wip? -
1) I live in Switzerland and had never any negative experience with the Lego Shop. Customs might have opened the parcel. But they usually put a sticker on the parcel to let you know. 4) Im ordering my parts from the following sources: - Lego Shop (UCS, Pick a Brick, Bricks & Pieces). You can collect VIP points and turn them into some discount formfuture orders. They also have some special gift every month. - Bricklink. No negative experience so far after about 20 orders. Just ensure that you check the sellers feedback. - eBay. e.g. rare pieces or used models. Always pay by PayPal.

[MOC] Avtoros Shaman 8x8
tismabrick replied to Madoca 1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is one of the MOCs that immediately got my attention. Just though "wow"! And surprisingly I'm not the only one in here that thinks like this. Very well done. And it's just great that you share instructions for this incedible MOC. Will eventually build it once I ordered all the many missing parts. Thank you! -
42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
tismabrick replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This set is love and hate for me. When I saw the first images I was pretty confident that I will never ever buy this set since it simply looks ugly to me. But then it's the one with the most pieces. So a lot of spare parts for me :-). Lot of functions, new parts and pricing is ok. So in the end I will just get one. Will have to wait though until discount season is open. -
I already liked this model before seeing any review. This is just a must have :-) The only drawback is that I noticed the confidential image of the unofficial arm. Now I need to have that one instead of the original one.

9398 with 42054 wheels
tismabrick replied to Silvio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Now this look interesting. I just think the red rims do not match the overall color scheme. But the size of the wheel is a good fit. -
Inthert, you build a very nice looking model! At a first glance I thought "why on earth should someone just post images of the official Lego Set" :)
