As a cross-theme buyer that does not prioritize technic in the top 3, this may be my favorite set of the year.

I absolutely adore this set (both original and @Seasider ‘s) so would love to see both versions updated, even if waiting until colder temperatures!

I’d be ok if they added a pro-mode where if the sensor doesn’t see lego colors within one second or something Mario dies. Similarly if he falls off a platform. One of the ‘frustrations’ of playing a level with my son is he will just warp to all the interactive things and skip the path. Would be nice to say “you can’t do that!” with the death music.

Huh. So a movie that has one battle where we see the gunship, and then a clone wars episode arc on the exact same planet. Maybe the turret version should be called the geonosian version. sorry for being pedantic but you said all and I literally watched an episode tonight with them so figured I would point it out.

It absolutely had turrets in the tv show, I just saw them on the geonosis attack episode tonight where ki amundi beats skywalker in kills.

I’ll add that I tried this with the unikitty bags, which have a more detailed weight on bricklink than the DFB bags and had a less than 100% success rate. It actually was surprisingly effective and maybe with a better scale I could’ve got them all, but I wasn’t about to pay 100+$ for something I wasn’t planning to use but once. due to the parts being the same in each bag and the only difference being the hair, I would imagine you need a scale that is accurate to the thousandth of a gram. I’m not even sure that would identify those with the same hair but different color. The weight difference in the color used, or the printing of one jersey versus another, is probably negligible.

The Robie house is hardly known in the US as well.

It’s a limited production run with a numbered plate. The first 50 are kept for lego employees, set vault, press photos and the like.

What’s the deal with the 6x pulleys on the drive shaft? Is that to help with the amount of torque the u-joints will be put under?

BrickLink’s ownership has no bearing on pricing. It’s a bunch of individual sellers who decide what they want for a given product. Supply and demand mostly dictate pricing of a given item, with the added caveat that new items carry a premium (the concept of “first to have it”). The other factor that makes bricklink (and to an extent other selling platforms like EBay) occasionally seem inflated is that one of their mechanisms for setting pricing is to use existing pricing. One seller putting their item very expensive can throw off the entire pricing structure if others are basing their price off the average of all others. brickowl will be no better. Reddit will likely be worse. Taiwanese street vendor isn’t an option for most. Ali express are not a reasonable substitute for most Lego buyers. If you have a secret path with altruistic sellers I am all ears. The most consistently cost effective way to get the figs (in the US) is find a discount on the set, buy and sell without figs.

Looks like we’re in the endgame now! First SW and now Marvel, glad to see some attention paid to the consumer.

This is the first one I’m conflicted about. I could justify two falcons by saying I get to display both the OT and ST versions (while also getting the new one with updated building techniques). But there is only one r2d2. Short of modding one to be a different droid I’m not sure what else to do with two. Damn completionist in me.

I just picked one of these up for my brother last week and was thinking of doing this (tho I’m not sure I am talented enough), so it is a pleasant surprise to see this thread. looks great!
