Film criticism is a very broad topic. While certain technical aspects of filmmaking can be quantified, like composition, plot structure, and framing, others are subjective. Whether a story has any holes or underdevelopped threads is objective, whether it‘s good is subjective. A story free of inconsistencies may be boring while one full of plotholes may be far more entertaining and meaningful. I feel some „critics“ on YT have really changed film criticism for the worse (looking at you, Cinema Sins). Quality may be measurable, depending on what quality means in this context. Movies can‘t be assessed via checklists

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I meant dark for a LEGO set. And it‘s not just dark for what Magneto does with the coin, it‘s also what kind of coin it actually is and what it represents And of course some comic book villains that got minifigs have done heinous things, but you don‘t usually see TLG make references to that I‘d say Sanctum, Tower, Mansion, Bugle. All four of them are excellent, but the Sanctum is my favourite because of the design and how much I like Strange, and the Bugle is on the bottom since it‘s essentially a skyscraper with set dressing Still a great set, don’t get me wrong, but not as unique as the other three! -

Wow, that's dark! Awesome reference though! -

That's still way more than what the 1HY sets of 2021 (and arguably 2022) had to offer -
I don’t get why Krypto‘s breed seems to matter so much. He has flippin superpowers, so he doesn‘t need to be a larger breed to convey that he means business And of course Gunn gets inspired by his personal experiences. That‘s what pretty much all creatives do, not only screenwriters! Satoshi Tajiri collected bugs as a kid, which inspired him to (co-)create Pokémon, Chain Chomps are based on a childhood memory of Shigeru Miyamoto, Tolkien was influenced by his war experiences and so on. I don‘t trust Gunn blindly, but so far he has given us no reason to worry about the DCU

Year 8 of the current theme and we only have two generic Death Eaters I know a DE BP isn‘t as whimsical and magical as a classroom set, but come on! All we ask for is one measly $15-20 BP Or a Battle of the Department of Mysteries set. Still plenty of magic, like a portal for interdimensional travel! -

…who exactly? Snape is a double agent, so he doesn‘t count, Greyback is neither a Death Eater nor does he sit at the table, and we don‘t have any other Death Eaters besides the masked one from Gringotts. Barty Crouch Jr. never was there either and certainly not with the clothes stolen from Moody And Macnair has his executioner clothes, so that doesn‘t work either. Edit: Forgot about Yaxley and Thicknesse!! Those two are present of course ^^ (and the latter is a Death Eater in the movie) -

The only three downsides of the Manor to me are its shallowness, the lack of Ron, and the usage of leg pieces on Bellatrix and Narcissa. Bellatrix without a skirt piece just looks plain wrong Other than that, it‘s an awesome-looking set! The DA set looks neat, but it will take up so much space, no matter how you display it! I need to think of a solution -

Didn‘t expect to see Luna and Voldy here, but I‘m not saying no to that! I like what I‘m seeing The new gargoyle piece works well here, Harry gets his disfigured face, and the building itself looks very detailed despite being a façade ^^ And with that, every single character from the 2010-11 era has finally been remade -

Rubbery parts aren‘t that common anymore, so I assume they‘ll create an entirely new piece for him That got a good laugh out of me, thank you -

Has Plo‘s JSF been confirmed to be a ROTS set? Kinda dark, if so! -
…His goal is to destroy his own livelihood, since his main job now is being DC‘s counterpart to Kevin Feige? Yeah, solid plan, no notes. I take it you didn‘t like The Suicide Squad or Peacemaker? No idea how either would „destroy DC“ given they‘re both some of the best-reviewed parts of the DCEU Couldn‘t agree more. MoS is a decent Elseworlds-type of story, but that version of Supes ain‘t it. Snyder just didn‘t get it. This picture alone gives me confidence that he‘s gonna embrace the essence of the character much more than all the other versions combined (besides Reeve)!

A new animated preschool show has just been announced, named Iron Man and his Awesome Friends. It launches next summer, so I wouldn‘t be surprised if this will replace the Spidey 4+ sets for 2HY and beyond Characters include Ironheart, Iron Hulk (Amadeus Cho), and Vision. Maybe this will be the way to get a comic-esque Vision for the those clamouring for one (of course depending on what he looks like in the show in the first place) -

Reported by a guy without any track record, so we can‘t really trust this information Besides, nobody said anything about the buildable figures in this set being in the same style as the Marvel and DC ones. They might be more akin to the Harry & Hermione figures we got in 2021, or their own style -

I would also accept Jumba as a regular minifig with a specialised head or head+torso combo piece à la Chewbacca Of course not as cool as a specialised new bigfig-like piece, but it‘s a compromise I‘m willing to make Two to three new moulded pieces isn‘t out of the question for such a set, I think. Last year‘s Up set had two, and that was a smaller set! -

They‘ll definitely reuse the faceprints, torso and „legs“. The hairpiece might be different since the Pocahontas one works well to depict her surfing, but not so much for other situations -
Except that LEGO has been announced as one of the licensing partners for the movie, which means there will be tie-in sets. Releasing comic-based sets would not fulfill that condition. That‘s as if they announced tie-in products for a new Star Wars movie and all they release is regular sets based on all the other shows and movies Or if they only released LOTR sets after announcing the Hobbit licensing agreement back in the day. A licensing announcement for a movie means tie-in products for that specific movie. If you have evidence to the contrary, show me!

Did we even have enough of them yet to warrant a protest slogan? The only Marvel ones I can think of are the Hulk vs Red Hulk set (if those vehicles even count) and that Mysterio set (also not sure if that one counts). And maybe the vehicle from the venomised T-Rex set. The 2025 set will be the first unambiguous monster truck But I get your point, even just one is one too many, eh? -

Exactly! They could do it in black and trans-black for the baddies and in white and trans-clear for the members of the Order that join the climactic battle in OotP I feel a set based on that scene would work the best. It‘s long overdue anyway! -

I'm on the fence about having Enoch in the BP or not. On the one hand, I don't army-build so I don't really mind having named characters in BPs, but on the other, it'd be much better to have three regular Night Troopers plus a Double Death Trooper in that set. Ideally, we'd get a BP plus a dropship, but that's not particularly likely, is it. That said, if the choice is between getting Enoch next year or having to wait until 2026/7, I'd rather he be included in the BP -

Agreed. If it comes with Jumba and Pleakley, this has good chances to be one of my favourite sets next year!
