Jurassic Properties 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Good analysis! Yeah, unfortunately, the Mosasaurus will almost certainly not be its own set then and likely come in the same set as the Spinosaurus, probably the $100 one The actual distribution could be 0-1-2-2-3 then. If the small set is still a buildable dino, it could be an Aquilops, which counts as a 0 in my book since it wouldn‘t be minifig-scale (unless it comes with a moulded Aquilops as well). Maybe it’s something like this: $25 set: buildable Aquilops $35 set: Quetzalcoatlus $50 set: Titanosaurus & Velociraptor $100 set: Spinosaurus & Mosasaurus $150 set: mutant, T-Rex, & minifig-scale Aquilops Pretty sure the mutant will have a fight scene with a „protagonist“ dino, and who better than a T-Rex? Would be far from the first time -

I stated Tarkin had to be there, not necessarily a resurrected Cushing Personally, I was fine with the digital recreation in this case, but I‘d generally prefer recasts as well. Back to LEGO: Since we now know that we‘ll get at least 6 dinos and prehistoric reptiles, what do you think about their set distribution? I know I was sceptical at first, but with all the new information we got, there‘s no way they‘ll omit the mutant. Same goes for the aquilops mascot. So, maybe 1-1-2-2-2? Or 1-1-1-2-3? ^^ -

Unless you’re talking about a flashback scene, he will not be in the movie. It’s established he died well before JW. And a clone appearing would be equal parts moronic, pointless, and kinda impossible since clones don’t have accelerated aging, unless Kaminoans are behind it And what point would a Hammond clone even serve in the story?! It’d just be a random guy looking like Hammond. You can’t clone memories. Might as well have a mutant T-Rex with Hammond’s head in the movie And even a flashback would be pointless. Peter Cushing was resurrected digitally for Rogue One because Tarkin simply had to be there. People are already iffy about justified CGI resurrections, and this would serve no purpose. -

You need to read the article, not just the headline. The writer argues that the existence of a third island full of dinos that were experimented on makes Hammond more villanious in hindsight, if he helped cover it up like he did with the second island. He’s not gonna be in the movie -

Wait, you‘re telling me you didn’t enjoy the scene where Rhodey in his signature War Machine Buster suit, Igor, Cap on his trademark flamethrower bike, and Nebula & Black Widow* in their awesome helicopters defended a City police station from Thanos’ forces? (* who actually didn’t die before the final battle, that’s just the Mandela effect) Yeah, the wave was ridiculously inaccurate, but with all the secrecy surrounding the movie, this outcome was as inevitable as Thanos himself. -

It‘s not a real castle expansion though as it wasn‘t meant to connect to any of the other sets I appreciate all of the OotP sets we got so far, but I need MOAR -

I agree with the sentiment, but there‘s no way they‘d release a new moulded piece in a paperbag (side note: the term „polybag“ can be retired now), so Sidon Ithano can be ruled out Papanoida is too obscure, but the other two are good suggestions! -

Not really. The Thunderbolts* trailer for instance was brand-new, and movies in the past also had spots with a ton of new footage. Some movie trailers even debuted there (PotC 5 and Solo e.g.). I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen a Super Bowl movie spot that had as little new footage as this one -

…just why Also, lame Super Bowl spot. It‘s just a shortened version of the trailer! -

Don‘t forget Shang-Chi! The MCU undeniably had some misses post-Endgame, but just as many hits, which people conveniently like to ignore. The only project I outright hated was Secret Invasion. Even L&T, Quantumania, and The Marvels had plenty of things I enjoyed about them Thunderbolts* certainly deserved a set in my opinion, but I understand them being more careful now after they must‘ve gotten burnt multiple times. The golden age of every new movie automatically getting sets is truly over. -

1) He‘s dead, as is evident in JW. His passing was mentioned in JW and I‘m pretty sure in JWFK too, when his former business partner Lockwood was introduced. 2) Even if he was alive, why on Earth would he be the villain? Sure, his actions led to a lot of death, but it was never malicious. He might be more of a villain in the books, but the movies always painted a more innocent picture of his. -

The number of new pieces for minifig parts is already impressive, so I wonder how many newly-moulded weapon pieces or accessories we can expect! Yoru would probably look weird if it was comprised of existing pieces, so a specialised one might be necessary. Arlong‘s sword on the other hand could well be made out of available pieces and Usopps‘s slingshot could be the usual piece recoloured in green -

Too bad we're not getting anything based on the Syrup Village arc, but it makes sense with only 5 sets. The rumoured sets are all more relevant in the grand scheme of things anyway. Fingers crossed we're also getting some nice accessories in these sets, like the gum-gum fruit in the Partys Bar set, Mihawk's tiny sword (knife?) in the Baratie, and/or a transponder snail (not sure where the latter would fit tho) -

Not a surprise, but still welcome! Hell freezes over if we ever get a movie wave without either of those Hopefully both of them sport new colour schemes! So, looks like we got our wish, pretty much! The only ones missing now are the aquilops and the mutant, and as the mascot and the main antagonist respectively, I think we‘ll likely see them as well ^^ -

I started to watch the show today and am halfway through S1! Not that I doubted it, but people are right, it‘s likely the best live-action manga/anime adaptation ever made! Now I‘m even more looking forward to the sets Glad to see we‘re getting a set based on the flashbacks as well! -

Indeed! Kinda silly we know a lot about the August wave and yet still have no confirmed minifig list for that one I‘m still hopeful it includes two Death Troopers (or Range Troopers even) rather than two Stormies, but we‘ll see. It’s better to keep low expectations! -

My guess is that a moulded mosasaurus would‘ve been too expensive, so they opted to give it its own set, saving a lot of money while still providing us with all three of the MacGuffins in some form Win-win for them! Unless the mosasaurus is actually included in the same set as the spinosaurus, of course. But even then, I don‘t see them suddenly shifting to brickbuilt dinos. As inconsistent as it is, the mosasaurus is our first and so far only aquatic species. I doubt they‘ll suddenly create brickbuilt versions of previously moulded dinos (in regular playsets I mean) -

Indeed. Hardcore fans are a minority, most moviegoers are casual fans or go to see a movie just because they heard about it and never give a single thought about it anymore after leaving the cinema A movie purely made to appease fans would not be a box-office success because you could easily alienate casual moviegoers. They don’t want to feel like they have to do homework before watching a movie. There is a middleground of course ^^ A) This is not the first brickbuilt prehistoric creature though, B) it could be its own set à la the baby ankylosaurus and T-Rex ones, and C) if they really wanted to replace moulded dinos with brickbuilt ones, what stopped them from already doing it with these sets? -

According to Maxbautde, the $100 set is the Going Merry while the 18+ one is the Baratie -

Fair point. A moulded mosasaurus would have needed at least 5 new pieces (head with upper jaw, lower jaw, torso, tail, fins), most of which could likely not be repurposed. I still would‘ve preferred it, but it‘s understandable why they went this route. Better than no mosasaurus -

The mosasaurus looks nice as a stand-alone build, but it really doesn‘t fit with the moulded dinos, especially if one of them is in the same set
