LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

Not quite, the One Piece sets haven’t leaked / been revealed yet either SW being among the last themes to be revealed is a pretty common occurrence. -

The TIE Avenger is the only set based on S2 I could actually see them producing, and even that’s kind of a stretch. It’s not spoilerific in the slightest, so they easily could’ve released it as a tie-in (heh) set this year, and the fact they didn’t is kind of telling And if they ever did a SW CMF, Andor characters would have low priority for multiple reasons -

I’d argue it still mostly is, because we clearly know which side everyone’s on, and unapologetically so (one spoilery exception aside). Sure, Saw and Luthen are more extreme than the rest of the rebels and they both did heinous things, so there of course is some moral greyness involved, but you still don’t question for a second whether they’re on the right side of the conflict (again, because of how clearly evil the Empire is). Also, we’ve had plenty of moral greyness in SW before. Han shot Greedo, Chopper is a psychopathic war criminal, we had entire episodes of TCW, TBB, and TotJ/E/U focussed on morally ambiguous characters or straight on bad guy vs worse guy stories even. Anti-heroes and anti-villains are pretty common in SW in general But I feel we’re getting sidetracked a little! There might be a hungry Rancor watching us! -

I mostly agree with your take, except for this part. Andor is still very clearly about good vs evil, since the Empire is arguably the most evil we’ve ever seen it on screen. Less moustache-twirly than blowing up a planet just to make a point or frying enemies with force lighthing while cackling maniacally, but still unambiguously evil in its actions and the coldness with which they are planned and conducted. Also, there is nothing wrong with good vs evil storytelling. I don’t like stories where everyone’s a morally dubious douchebag -
Could Simpsons line of Minifigure series or Sets return?
BrickBob Studpants replied to Vitruvius's topic in LEGO Licensed
With additional pictures available, I have to say it fits in with the other two sets even more seamlessly than I thought before! The only thing that doesn’t quite gel is the 18+ packaging that looks a lot less vibrant than the 2014/15 boxart, but we knew it was gonna be an Icons set, so that’s no surprise ^^ The GWP is pretty neat, especially for a yellow box one! No minifigs, but at least it’s compatible! -

No, it was a joke, nobody wants that Knocking on wood, but I’m glad the theme has so far steered clear of 4+ sets, mechs, and other gimmicks like that. Sure, call the books and banners gimmicks, but those at least fit with the theme -

No. If there was a set, retailers would have listed it ages ago and leakers would’ve known about it too. Maybe next year, even though follow-up sets have not been done before for any of the movies -

The MCU version of Ben is not large enough to justify a bigfig in my opinion. He’s slightly taller than his team mates, not Hulk-sized! A new torso á la Hagrid or Egmann might work, but I did NOT like the torso design they came up with for Mr Incredible in the videogame Looks kinda ridiculous with the regular legs, like a walking croissant -

I think it looks great! While it’s a bit on the small side, the colour scheme pops and the interior looks fun and packed with details, just like the previous two sets Kinda crazy it feels like they didn’t skip a beat, despite the ten-year gap in-between sets! -

If this drawing is to be believed, then cloth kamas are back?! Better late than never, but Rex and Fives sure could’ve used them! -

You’re entitled to your opinion of course, but I fail to see how either set can honestly be called “garbage”, especially Barad-dûr. They have their flaws, yes, but this is needlessly harsh and ironically not very constructive feedback for a construction toy -

The issue is that those technically would have to be new in all likelihood. The old moulds were likely destroyed a coupla years ago and recreating them still costs a lot, even though they’d result in (near-) identical parts in the end! Expect the GWP not to feature any minifigs and you won’t be disappointed ^^ -

To me, the size and design of the Balrog look great, but I do wish they had used more trans-orange pieces throughout the build to make it look more as if it’s on fire. Also, nice to see the Ninjago dragon horns being used, just like everyone expected when that piece was introduced two years ago -

If the entire castle was only focussed on those two movies, they'd run out of characters pretty quickly I don't mind the two big expansions so far being based on PS because of how well they executed it, but variety is where it's at. The other movies deserve some love too -

The Balrog book nook has finally leaked!! Personally, I love it, but I’m not sure what the general reception will be like! -

It’s a D2C set, so it taking longer to leak / be revealed is no surprise At least the minifigs have all leaked already! -

The Krusty Burger set will get a GWP, albeit one of the cheaper yellow-boxed ones It depicts the Simpsons’ living room! Don’t expect any new characters tho, it’s only a GWP after all -

Not sure why people fear it‘s gonna be a disaster Yes, the set‘s undeniably overpriced, but the piece count is comparable to previous models. I‘m cautiously optimistic! -

The events of Rebels are still 100% canon, as they did a really good job making sure to align with that. As for a certain comic: wellllllllll… (Saying new episodes of a show are still canon with another show isn‘t considered a spoiler I hope ) -
Best and Worst year of Lego Star Wars?
BrickBob Studpants replied to Darth_Bane13's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As for the best, in no particular order: 2015: A lot of variety, great BPs, and then there was the amazing first TFA wave. 2018: They cooked with the two Solo waves, which are still among my favourites. Snoke‘s throne room and the Sandcrawler are other stand-outs. 2023: The Ahsoka sets alone make this a top-tier year for me. Love the dioramas and the TIE Bomber too! 2024: Saw, Cal, Nien, and the Mando S3 sets make it a top contender for me 2022: The Scythe and the AT-TE are just fantastic sets, plus finally a Kaminoan, great Kenobi minifigs, the first Andor set, and much more! 2021: While I found the 1HY stuff to be lackluster, the 2HY wave was awesome, especially the Mando S2 and TCW S7 sets! 2012: Jabba‘s Palace, Gungan Sub, the Malevolence, the Senate‘s failed arrest, need I say more? As for the weakest, I‘d say: 2004: I have fond memories of the Falcon and the Cantina with Greedo, but looking back, it’s pretty unimpressive otherwise. 2006: Not a bad year at all, but the waves were really small, and everything was redone much better later on (the same goes for 2001, but that had more of an excuse, being only the third year!) 2007: I have very fond memories of the summer wave especially, but man, that AT-ST was NOT good and some of the others have not aged so well either, like the Belville Hoth set, the Landing Craft, or the single-piece-winged Sith Infiltrator Still a significant year for introducing BPs! 2025 is no longer anywhere near the „worst“ list thanks to recent developments HEY HEY! -

I haven‘t seen the third arc of Andor S2 yet, but since we can now talk about the last arc, I gotta say I have to apologise to S1 a bit Some of the issues I had before are still there (like the „show don‘t tell“ rule being broken A LOT where character‘s fates are often only talked about or being implied, rather than actually being shown), but S2 finally justifies why we spent so much time with certain characters whose plotlines didn‘t really go anywhere that season. Guess I was a bit impatient S2 is a lot more focussed and also delivers a lot more in the action department! Still some weaknesses here and there (like some characters‘ deaths being rather random and some subplots being too drawn out for my liking, looking at you, jungle idiots). Also, where‘s K2? I guess he’ll only show up in the final arc? Boooooooo! And while the chances for a TIE Avenger set are still in the toilet, I‘m joining the lobbying group here anyway
