Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’d say it’s more than just likely In my estimation, if the list stays the same in two months, then the FB subtheme is as dead as a doornail Why would there be FBAWTFT or CoG sets in the 2021 line-up but none based on the third one? Unless TLG were informed WAY in advance that FB3 would not be able to make its deadline, and immediatedly stopped the set design process, of course. Doesn’t sound likely to me though since the delay had two reasons: the pandemic and Depp’s exit (and subsequent recasting, which takes time), which just happened. Of course the film likely would have been delayed anyway, but there has to a reason they made a statement on both matters at the same time. Maybe they had hope they’d still make it until the outcome of Depp’s trial finally shattered their illusions Are you refering to the Ecto-1? There are two major differences here: Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been pushed back “only” a year and back when the set production started, the film’s release date was still in March. The second delay was rather recent. The set contains no spoilers for the film (which is most likely the reason it doesn’t include any minifigs ) -

Think about it as four $100 sets you buy all at once -

He didn’t really have to though... His job was to bring the screenplay to life, not the book the screenplay is based on Btw, I just thought of something: We might learn quite soon whether LEGO FB will ever continue or not. Now that the next movie has officially been pushed back again, the length of the next set list (e.g. from the 2HY catalogue) will be decisive proof. If it stays the same as the one we know of, then FB as a subtheme is toast. Sure, you could argue that TLG learned about that much earlier than the public did a couple of days ago and the list had already been altered by that point. However, that would mean that @Guyon2002’s list would have been even longer initially, and frankly, that’s just hard to believe -
LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

General Dodonna? Ok, I'll take back what I said about this wave probably not having anything of interest in its minifig department I hope for some other neat surprises like that! -

Three points here: None of the waves so far were restricted to two films only, so going back to PS doesn’t have any bearing on the existence of DH sets The classroom sets are their own separate wave independent from the “proper” main wave next year They’ve released DH sets in 2011. Plus they’ve arguably covered darker stuff before -

Another name I’ve seen thrown around is Mads Mikkelsen. That‘d be my top pick as well Also, I‘m still salty about having been denied a Mikkelsen minifig twice (Kaecilius & Galen Erso), so in the off-chance my dreams pan out, maybe the third time‘s the charm? -

@Guyon2002: Why does your interest in FB depend on Depp or Farrell being involved? Not judging, just curious To me, Depp is not irreplaceable. His version never really felt like the same character to me that we’ve seen in DH, albeit briefly (especially his heterochromia, which magically appeared in the 20s and then disappeared before DH?) -

Good to know Bad to know The film has also been pushed back to summer 2022. So if the set list is shorter the next time we see it, we know why -

Well, LOTR has a distinct anti-war message, which should be kept I think Messages are fine with me, just don’t turn it into a second GoT... Anyway, back to topic: Which minifig are you hoping to see getting leaked next? I hope for Sprout as I’m really curious how it differs from the CMF minifig. Her second costume from CoS would be a nice variant -

Not to get off-topic too far, but there allegedly has been a consultant on set usually required for explicit scenes, if you catch my drift. Could be unfounded though, at least that’s what I hope The last thing I need to see are nude elves (or dwarves) doing it -

The level of detail in these sets never ceases to amaze me One of my personal highlights are the koi prints. So much to appreciate here -

Dang, these keep getting better and better And I see they still rely on banana pieces in funny colours, has to be a running gag among the design team by now -

I think the possibility of that piece being reused for Death Eaters / Voldy is definitely on the table. After all, it's not a licensed piece, so there are no issues when it comes to repurposing it for other themes. It'd just be perfect for the smoke effect as seen in the films, no matter how you feel about its canonicity -

That'd be awesome, but I highly doubt it. If the rumours are anything to go by, the Amazon series will (sadly) try to appeal to the GoT crowd, which doesn't bode well for a potential tie-in -

Are you sure it's real? The one I've seen on IG a couple of hours ago looked pretty photo-shopped to me -

That colour works very well for Mysterio, even better than the milky one used in the Sesame Street set Speaking of colour: I hope the power blast pieces will actually be trans-bright green in the set itself (as seen in the catalogue) rather than the trans-light blue one in this picture Accessories don’t usually leak, so at least it makes sense why a replacement part was used -

Well, the old one’s still around on bricklink, so shouldn’t be that hard to replace the new one if you don’t like it Personally, I take an update/redesign/variant over a repeat any day, even if the old one’s superior. It’s just the collector in me -

Ever played Twilight Princess? They easily could have repurposed the old Ghost Rider head and didn’t. Even if you don’t like the result, at least effort was put in -

I neither love nor hate the new Ghostrider minifig, it’s just ok to me. However, the face reminds me too much of something... NOT TAKE MIRROR! -

Ashnflash properly gave Guyon2002 credit, which is all he had to do You don’t have to share money you made on a video or publication based on somebody else’s information, otherwise newspapers, TV stations, news sites, and 99% of youtube would be in huge trouble -

@Balrogofmorgoth: “Officer, there he is!” I knew it would come to this when a Balrog becomes a parent Next year is going to be expensive, that’s for sure. However, that’s still preferable to the way the theme fizzled out in 2011. Good sets, don’t get me wrong, but pretty weak selection for the grande finale to say the least -

Agreed. The only thing that‘s missing is the hair, but they didn‘t have much choice there without resorting to a new mould Yeah, that common „santa“ piece wouldn‘t have fit at all. Glad they went for a recolour of the Dwalin/Dain beard piece instead -
The Creator Expert branding as such doesn’t exist anymore (except on s@h) Every Creator Expert set released after the Fiat 500 was just part of the 18+ range, where the set’s name in fancy fonts replaced that logo. So it’s hard to tell what the branding would have been if the 18+ branding hadn’t been introduced, but the lack of minifigs certainly points in the Creator Expert direction

I’m also happy how this minifig turned out New head and torso prints plus a recoloured version of a beard piece we haven’t seen since the Hobbit sets is more by than enough for me, anything additional (like a hat) would be a bonus
