  1. Took me a while to assemble all the sets, busy times @Brickroll: The poltergust does indeed work with Mario All power-up suits are compatible with both characters The Luigi’s mansion theme music it plays is appropriate, but it loops too quickly. I‘ve got a couple of REALLY weird extra parts in the Big Urchin set, namely two red 2x2 plates with rounded bottoms, a tan one, a blue 1x2 plate with jumper, and a light bluish grey slope with studless cutout Maybe it‘s the standard for that set, but I have to wait for the bricklink inventory to find out Or for the brickset one to find out the amount of each part that is supposed to be included. Definitely a major drawback of not having regular instruction booklets
  2. Agreed. It was light on actual Christmas-related stuff, but there’s only so many Christmas tree, present, fireplace, and food item variants they can make before it gets stale The last two covered these grounds very well, so it was time for something new, and the calendar definitely delivered. The Hogwarts Express ticket and Harry’s cake alone are worth it, especially since they were unlikely to show up elsewhere. For future ACs, I hope they keep this year’s style
  3. A third CMF series would be pretty pointless now that they only include 12 minifigs since they’d mostly likely try to shove in the trio, Dumbledore, Neville, and Luna anyway I’d rather get the missing characters in sets and free the CMF slot for a franchise that needs it more
  4. As @Falconfan1414 points out, HP already had 2 series. I’d argue HP doesn’t need a third one, the remaining missing characters could easily be featured in future sets @THELEGOBATMAN is right, there is a fourth series this year It’s possible to like a franchise without sh*tting on another This thread is full of Marvel fans This is just a mere rumour from an unknown source There have to be better insults than “MarTrash”. Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, now does it That’s just, like, your opinion, man
  5. That’s an issue for every set though I’ll need to figure out how to display the new D2C set regardless of what it ends up being
  6. Interesting rumour, if true… Not buying into it unless a trusted leaker will confirm
  7. Brickfanatics have answered the wrong question here It’s not “what’s big enough to warrant a $470 set?”, but rather “what deserves to be the ultimate HP set?” I think we all know what the answer to that is, and TLG know, and they know we know
  8. Yeah, and since they’ve already been collaborating with Nintendo on the Super Mario theme for almost two years (time flies by), this wouldn’t be much of a stretch. They have to be aware of the demand for Zelda sets in particular, just look at the sheer amount of Ideas projects that reached 10k votes!
  9. Interesting choice I wonder what other game franchises could be part of this theme… It’s probably in vain, but I cross my fingers from anything by Nintendo, be it Zelda, Kirby, or Animal Crossing. Seriously, sets based on either of those would probably melt my brain
  10. 1) A $470 vehicle would be WAY out of scale compared to any non-Star Wars vehicle they’ve ever released. Not sure how that could be justified, since any of the vehicles could easily be realised for half the price 2) My least favourite aspect of the entire franchise (aside from the author that shall not be named) being the subject of the largest set? I’d buy two copies just to feed the second one to the wolves, cackling like a maniac 3) Yes, a $470 triangle, just what I always wanted!! 4) Sure, a building that has never appeared on-screen deserves the honour of being a larger set than Hogwarts What next, a $1000 Nerf-herder UCS Star Wars set? 5) YES.
  11. It's indeed trans-yellow, forgot to mention that
  12. Everything we’ve heard thus far sounds too good to be true There has to be a catch somewhere
  13. I’d say a OotP-style Death Eater, a mould for the Ironbelly’s head, and the shrieking shack as a location
  14. Why? I know that’s rich coming from the guy who constantly argues against a microscale Hogwarts expansion, but unlike that one, a DA expansion could easily stand on its own, especially if the Ironbelly was included As others have pointed out, Ninjago City got two expansions even, one of which came 3 years later with the initial theme long being dead by that point
  15. Size is not the main issue, I’m strictly talking about iconicity here. I just don’t think the MoM is iconic enough to deserve to be the subject of the largest HP set ever created You could argue that Gringotts doesn’t deserve that honour either, but at least there are some good arguments why it does regardless (e.g. it being a centerpiece in the theme park or serving as a bookend in the sense of being important in the first and last instalments)
  16. Guys, let’s be real here, there’s no way the biggest HP set ever conceived is going to be based on the Ministry of Magic Sets that large have to be based on something so iconic that even the most casual of fans immediately recognise what it is, and while the MoM is certainly iconic enough to deserve a set, it’s simply not worthy of a $470 one By that logic, we can start doubting the entire list, maybe the numbers, prices, and amount of sets are all wrong Evidence suggesting the price is correct: 2 sources (at least) Evidence suggesting the price is wrong: 0 sources Admit it, you just want the set to be cheaper
  17. There is no evidence to support this. Unless another reputable source says otherwise, we have no reason not to trust that info
  18. Word. An add-on would make zero sense because nobody who doesn‘t already own the previous Hogwarts microscale set would buy a set that‘s missing all of the most iconic sections of the castle Releasing a $470 set that requires owning another $400 set to be properly displayed would be a dumb decision. Sets have to work on their own, especially with a hefty pricetag like that
  19. Just a reference, nothing more to it Not the first time, actually:
  20. Here are my predictions: 76400: Troll on the loose (can‘t see them abandoning PS just yet ) 76401: Second Task 76402: Shrieking Shack 76403: Hogwarts expansion 76404: AC based on PoA 76405: Diagon Alley II: Electric Boogaloo 76406: Niffler 76407: Buildable objects (no idea what, additional school supplies maybe?) 76408: Ron & Dumbledore maxifigs We should turn this into a prediction game akin to the CMF ones
  21. Do they have enough space on the box for that? They could also number them, like they did in the film itself
  22. There aren‘t always clear patterns like this, but I guess since we again have two ascending price sequences separated by the D2C and AC in the middle, I guess the first four sets are regular playsets while the latter three are buildable creatures and/or objects, just like this year. Judging by their prices, 76406 could be a Niffler and 76408 another set of buildable figures, maybe Ron and Dumbledore? After all, they‘ve been paired up before as Brickheadz
  23. Not sure how that would work. We got a $500 microscale castle, so a $470 minifig-scale one could only feature a fraction of that structure Besides, not only would it compete with the still available 71043, it would also get into conflict with the existing regular expansions. Basically we‘d get a fourth version of the Great Hall
  24. A $470 set based on a vessel that appears on screen for a total of less than 10 seconds? Not exactly what I’d call likely
