Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Highlights for me: New face for Krum and a more fitting hairpiece They actually use the wavy Vidiyo hairpiece for the merperson as many predicted The new Grindylow Sleeping faces for Ron & Hermione Rowena Ravenclaw with a recolour of Luna‘s hairpiece The diadem being included A recolour of the Basilisk headpiece, just as I hoped! New face for Cedric! They switched to the new skin tone introduced this year for Cho Blaise being included in two sets New version of Susan Bones I think? New Ravenclaw student (Michael Corner it seems?) Where‘s Goyle though? Already burned to a crisp? -

Eh, we never really see more than 5 or 6 GoF-style Death Eaters on screen at once, so an army of them isn‘t really needed Instead, I’m stil hoping for a OotP-style Death Eater! Now those have army-building potential -

Once the 1HY consumer catalogue is out, we will see them anyway. So they may just as well reveal them now instead of waiting for the catalogue to inevitably drop -
Renown doesn‘t strongly corrrelate with merchandise sales though, or else Godfather merch would vastly outsell Transformers toys Even under the Disney umbrella I don‘t see them dedicating an entire theme to the franchise. Not every successful movie franchise has toy potential

Thanks for letting us know! I‘m excited Hopefully they unveil all 6 sets! -
The PotA franchise does not seem like a merchandise juggernaut to me. What makes you think its merch would outperform Avatar‘s? Avatar has mechs, helicopters, submarines, and all sorts of imaginative creatures. PotA has armed apes on horseback Don’t get me wrong, the recent trilogy was excellent, but there‘s nowhere near as much set potential as with other franchises

Technically, they could introduce new parts for the NWH designs which could then be repurposed for comic versions. Electro very VERY briefly sports a version of the silly classic mask made of electricity and the most important thing a bigfig Lizard needs is his tail. The face could be realised as a print for either version. So if they really wanted to, they could introduce both these parts in NWH sets. Incredibly unlikely, but not impossible -

The banners are on the bottom of my list since we still have no idea what to expect there Minifig-wise, they‘ll probably be pretty boring, unless the designers conjured up some house ghosts. We already have all the relevant teachers; and named students are not something I‘m really interested in, unless it‘s someone like Lee Jordan who at least could bring a cool new hairpiece to the table. I‘ll still get them on day 1 of course, but I‘m hoping for something new to be included nonetheless -

At this point, I‘m expecting a revival of the theme once Gunn & Safran set their plans into motion, so 2024 at the earliest. If they‘re successful, nothing should stand in the way of a proper return of the theme! -

Since the consumer catalogue may leak any day now, what are you looking forward to see the most? For me, it has to be: The minifigs in the Second Task set, especially the merman and the Grindylow The fire snake in the RoR set. The fact it‘s our first proper DH2 set in the reboot helps too Whatever those banners are. Not expecting much minifig-wise though -

Hey, at least we have that Flash set to look forward to And the two mysterious sets with adjacent set numbers that disappeared from this year‘s schedule might be DC too! -

I don‘t know, I‘d rather have a bit more balance. The pattern of 3 small sets in January, 3 helmets in March, 3 dioramas in May, and a metric ton of sets in August is very unbalanced, as no things should be Wouldn’t take that much to achieve that, moving around 3 of the August sets to January would suffice in my book. There are always sets based on older material in there that can released at any time of the year, like Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter and 4+ AT-ST this year. -

…there are (at least) two helmets coming in March, plus 3 dioramas, two Mando sets, and a D2C one in May. And undoubtedly a giant wave in August again Also, this year‘s January wave was just as tiny. This theme ain‘t going anywhere -
Shrek was supposed to be featured in the cancelled third year of Dimensions and TLG have a good working relation with Dreamwork’s parent company Universal, so this is definitely a possibilty! Sets based on the previous movies would be great too, even though I have no love whatsoever for Shrek the Third No idea how those two themes performed, but in these cases, less than stellar sales could easily be attributed to the pandemic. Trolls World Tour was banished to streaming and Minions got delayed by two years, neither of which was helpful. A Shrek theme wouldn’t have to deal with that

We should see pictures of the sets any day now. Since they’re released in March and aren’t based on an upcoming movie, they’re 99% featured in the 1HY consumer catalogue, which usually ends up in the hands of fans around the middle of December Last year, it was on the 11th -

Pictures of the three Spidey sets are out! Quite cute for what the are, but the amount of new characters is unexpectedly low with only two (Sandman & Black Panther). Love the silly Spider-bus though -

Definitely a lot of set potential here! I hope they release at least one set next summer, but I’d prefer a smaller set or two this time round -

I totally missed the iron hoe when I first saw the new images! So glad we finally have the last missing tool in LEGO form Like the look of that new polybag too! Nice to see that the pattern of alternating between Steve and Alex still holds and getting another axolotl is a big plus in my book -

She does I think it’s the most unique ship design they’ve had so far in the entire MCU! Really hope it’s the $100 set. No way they could do it justice if it was the $35 one, not even if they designed it in the same scale as the 2017 Milano I mean, even the $100 price point is just barely enough -

TLG when they saw the concept art with identical uniforms in both movies: KA-CHING They could still do slight variations, but it’s safe to assume they’ll all use the same torso and legs -

That is my favourite BP in quite a while! Really like the variety here, even though I would’ve preferred a different unit. The Microfighter is decent. Nice cheap way to get a Boba minifig! Also interesting to see the first Microfighter with a closable windshield Hope we’ll see the TIE Bomber soon as well!
