Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nah, the London one stopped being a good source in 2018 or so because they started to prohibit descriptions even. In 2019 we got a minifig list of the HP sets, but the guy who provided it to us here on EB ended up getting fired over it After that, no more info. The other two fairs in Nuremberg and New York only had 1HY releases on display from that point on as well. So the only sets we might get to see are missing 1HY ones from other themes -

Art is its own theme with its own unique set numbers. There is a $200 Spidey Art set, but that has nothing to do with the $200 D2C And of course the X-Mansion is being discussed again, like clockwork Guys, hate to break it to you, but there’s no way they’re releasing an X-Men D2C before the team is introduced in the MCU. The X-Men aren’t in the public eye enough at the moment to warrant a set like that -

Wouldn‘t bet on that, as we haven‘t gotten anything useful out of the toy fairs in years, especially the London one Even pre-Covid, they were getting more and more useless every year. The times they provided descriptions of most if not all 2HY releases are long over. If they do have something on display, it‘s probably just the Spring sets. -

I think movie sets can be ruled out since releasing them four months after its debut is pretty nonsensical, especially considering the movie was initially scheduled for last December Game-inspired minifig sets are certainly possible though, but I‘m not getting my hopes up. @Legoman123: There are no rumours pointing in that direction, only speculation. -
LEGO Gabby's Dollhouse 2023 Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Megbricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I wouldn‘t rule Trolls 3 out just on the grounds that the 2020 sets apparently didn‘t do so well. Licensed themes based on upcoming movies are cross-promotional after all, so Universal might have an incentive to push for more sets Also, this might be a contractual thing. Wouldn‘t be the first time a theme was birthed from contractual obligations (see Prince of Persia) -

Huh, you're right! I thought that movie was scheduled for next year. "Sparkle" being Trolls 3 is definitely plausible then The second movie mostly had 6 or 7+ sets, but a 4+ range could work too. -

There, FTFY Not sure how reasonable a Knight Bus is at $160. The PPR would certainly fit, but it'd definitely be quite a bit smaller than comparable vehicles like the London Bus. -

Two D2C sets? That's the first I've heard of that. Jedijacpenguin's list doesn't feature it. Which number is the other one rumoured to be? -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I didn't realise we already have the piece count for 76419, so it's 2660 pieces for $160 Excellent PPR, but this doesn't exactly bode well for Gringotts. I smell a buildable character. Or a sock. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not really. The Infinity Saga sets go to show they're perfectly fine with revisiting movies, and NWH is an ideal candidate for revisiting a more recent movie beyond the Infinity Saga. I sure hope they will do it before the end of the Multiverse Saga Or maybe they pull the same release-sets-based-on-older-movies-to-avoid-spoilers-for-new-one routine again and release NWH sets in time for Spidey 4 -

The idea I was arguing against was having the $200 D2C as the sole NWH set. Having that plus 1-2 smaller sets would be a whole other story -

Most kids can‘t afford a $200 D2C, so locking some of the most desired Marvel minifigs behind a paywall like that is not exactly the best of ideas. A smallhandful of regular sets with these characters would very likely outperform a D2C one -

Huh, that‘s pretty unexpected! Wonder what that could be. My first thought was a buildable figure, but $60 is a bit low for that… -

There is a point behind the name in every language. Hint: we‘re talking about a mirror here Yeah, it doesn‘t have much screentime, but neither did the Beauxbatons carriage and that got a set as well Could be an interesting set if they ever release it, and as @deskp points out, there is some minifig potential! -

The Polish name of the Mirror of Erised (had to look it up) I'm pretty satisfied with the 2018 version, but an update with the new style of lenticular cards would be cool too! -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. While I’d prefer a D2C with all the relevant characters, the cash cow that is NWH can be milked more efficiently with 3 sets in various sizes I hope they FINALLY take advantage of it this year -

We didn’t know the price of the D2C set before, did we? According to jedijacpenguin, it‘s going to be 160$, making it the cheapest one so far (In the reboot I mean, the cheapest one overall is still the 2011 DA) -

If they ever do minifigs, moulded heads or bust I don’t ever want to go back to the bad old days of printed noses It just looks so cheap and stupid to me, and the countless bootlegs that have done exactly that show why it doesn’t work -

Exactly. Even if those were the last sets before the third movie, I’d still be satisfied since they captured the essence of both movies perfectly -

Interesting question! I consider the theme “complete” after these have been realised as sets: Gringotts with Goblins, disguised Ron, an improved Bellatrix (basically the Burrow one with a printed dress and the CMF head), and the Ukrainian Ironbelly. Preferably with some PS elements too, like the Philosopher’s Stone, portrayed by a trans-red version of the gold nugget piece A set based on the Battle of the Seven Potters with Thestrals, Hagrid’s bike, and masked Death Eaters Battle of Hogwarts set with Narcissa Malfoy and DH variants of some characters (Fred & George, Ron, Prof Sprout, etc.) A set based on the Battle at the Departement of Mysteries with Lucius (new face print), masked Death Eathers, and perhaps Gambledore to represent the duel as well Troll on the loose remake with the Troll and another Quirrell Remake of Hagrid’s Hut plus a section of the Forbidden Forest with coat-less Hagrid, Fang, Norberta, and a unicorn -

I sure hope so, mostly for the sake of consistency. I don’t mind hybrid builds like the Avatar creatures, but it’d very weird if the Brachio ended up being the only hybrid in the entire theme -

What was your first LEGO Star Wars set?
BrickBob Studpants replied to YourLocalB2's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My first two SW sets were 7130 Snowspeeder and 7140 X-Wing, which I received as a gift from my dad. After seeing the OT for the first time, I wanted some toys based on it but wasn’t aware that LEGO sets were on the horizon, until my dad surprised me with them. On that fateful day, I instantly turned into a collector
