Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Interesting question! I consider the theme “complete” after these have been realised as sets: Gringotts with Goblins, disguised Ron, an improved Bellatrix (basically the Burrow one with a printed dress and the CMF head), and the Ukrainian Ironbelly. Preferably with some PS elements too, like the Philosopher’s Stone, portrayed by a trans-red version of the gold nugget piece A set based on the Battle of the Seven Potters with Thestrals, Hagrid’s bike, and masked Death Eaters Battle of Hogwarts set with Narcissa Malfoy and DH variants of some characters (Fred & George, Ron, Prof Sprout, etc.) A set based on the Battle at the Departement of Mysteries with Lucius (new face print), masked Death Eathers, and perhaps Gambledore to represent the duel as well Troll on the loose remake with the Troll and another Quirrell Remake of Hagrid’s Hut plus a section of the Forbidden Forest with coat-less Hagrid, Fang, Norberta, and a unicorn -

I sure hope so, mostly for the sake of consistency. I don’t mind hybrid builds like the Avatar creatures, but it’d very weird if the Brachio ended up being the only hybrid in the entire theme -

Sounds a lot like Time Cruisers, but actually good Hoping for cool new colourful parts, and hopefully some new animals or fantasy creatures too (unicorn anyone?) -
What was your first LEGO Star Wars set?
BrickBob Studpants replied to YourLocalB2's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My first two SW sets were 7130 Snowspeeder and 7140 X-Wing, which I received as a gift from my dad. After seeing the OT for the first time, I wanted some toys based on it but wasn’t aware that LEGO sets were on the horizon, until my dad surprised me with them. On that fateful day, I instantly turned into a collector -

Personally, I think Ron might be featured this time after two Harrys, Hermione, and Dumbledore As for the build, maybe a remake of the 2010/2011 potion class one? The other one has already been remade, after all -

The blue fairy’s dress has blue semi-transparent sleeves, so the minifig’s arms shouldn’t be flesh-toned if it actually was supposed to be her So this has to be Tinkerbell -
I don’t think a ‘throw-everything-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks’ approach would work for TLG. I mean, some Pops sell very well while others end up at the bottom of bargain bins, which is inevitable with the sheer volume they put out. It’s just a very risky business strategy IMO. Sure, you could argue the same thing happens already with some sets that don’t sell all that well, but it’s not that big of a loss since it’s usually just a handful a year. As opposed to hundreds of Pops Might work short-term, not so sure about the long-term prospects

That hairpiece was introduced in last year’s Friends sets Pieces often get recoloured for BAM without other uses in mind -

While I liked the What if…? minifigs in S1, it always seemed very unfair to me that they dedicated 5 minifigs to a show that already had two sets based on it. I would’ve sacrificed any of them in a heartbeat for more characters from the other shows Hopefully they won’t repeat it for this series -

If those were all part of the line-up (minus Wall-E and EVE since they obviously wouldn't work as minifigs), I'd be very satisfied It's pretty realistic too, as we'd then have representations for all major eras plus Pixar, just like the first two series! Looked forward to the real list, but the reduced roster is giving me a headache already. Going from two series with 18 minifigs each to a puny 12 is just awful -

Sure, but with the precious few spots we have in the CMF series, I’d rather they not waste them on characters we’ve had before -

The Brickheadz 4-pack looks great! Hope this is a sign for things to come, as I’d really like to see Oswald and Snow White in the CMF series -

There is no evidence to support this Just because there is no starter course - shaped box doesn’t mean we’re getting minifigs. Maybe they simply switched to normal boxes for the next digifig (after all, those do exist for the previous three characters, sold at certain retailers like Costco). Besides, we’re still missing two Koopalings! -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
That’s what I’m thinking. People like to point out that there is plenty of older content they could base sets on, which is true, but we also need to keep in mind who the target audience is, and DC is currently not as much in their consciousness as Marvel is Once the DCU gets launched and is actually successful, the DC theme could finally be restored! Until then, we have to content ourselves with breadcrumbs -

Having two stackable torsos to represent a four-armed character and including an extra torso intended for another character are hardly the same thing It’s not impossible, but very unlikely. If they wanted to represent both Moon Knight and Mr Knight, they’d most likely just include both in the series as separate minifigs, sacrifing another character in the process, and be done with it -

There is no “maybe” about this. The four Indy set numbers were initially intended for April 2022. You can look it up quite easily -

No way the’re going to include what boils down to two minifigs in one box Including two heads is the furthest they would go. I highly doubt we’d ever get extra torsos and/or legs in a CMF My expectations: Hawkeye Kate with Lucky Moon Knight Konshu Ms Marvel Red Dagger She-Hulk Daredevil Nick Fury Talos Loki S2 main outfit Mobius I really hope they’ll skip What If…? this time. Pretty please? -

Did you already forget the four set numbers that showed up in March that were for a theme that was initially scheduled for April that later (July?) turned out to be Indy? Or even more obviously, as @THELEGOBATMAN points out, that the movie was delayed for a year? -

Why would they ever tease an Indy set with an Architecture GWP? Also, don’t forget that the Indy sets were delayed *sad Minecraft noises* -

This list was pretty hard to compile, but here it is: Diagon Alley Attack on the Burrow 12 Grimmauld Place Ministry of Magic The Shrieking Shack Hogwarts Castle (D2C) Hogsmeade Hagrid’s Hut Astronomy Tower Clock Tower Great Hall Rise of Voldy Hogwarts Express (UCS) Room of Requirement (OotP) Umbridge gets dragged to Hell -
Lego Avatar 2022/3 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Mr No's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not sure if more sets are on the menu this year. It appears that lego_minecraft_goat has released all the info they had, and I doubt that Avatar is the only wide release theme that somehow eluded them Maybe there could be a small wave in early 2024, followed by a bigger one in time for Avatar 3? -

Well, that statement would still be true if one or two sets were not based on JP I’m not saying they aren’t, but we’ve seen some pretty wild stuff from this theme -
Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not to be a party pooper, but come to think of it, has it actually been confirmed that all of the sets are going to be based on the first JP movie? I mean 76960 undoubtedly is, and while some of the other names suggest that as well, others are pretty generic It would totally make sense for all of them to be based on JP to celebrate the anniversary, but TLG work in mysterious ways sometimes -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, looking at other themes, their first D2C set usually was based on something very iconic to the respective franchises. DC had a Batmobile, Marvel the Helicarrier, Harry Potter had Diagon Alley / Hogwarts, Star Wars an X-Wing, LOTR had Orthanc, and so on. I would thus expect either a diorama based on the opening scene in RotlA or a model of the idol Of course there are other well-known scenes too, but you can‘t get more iconic than that sequence! (Btw, is there another franchise whose very first scene remained the most iconic one out of all of them? Can‘t think of another one. Plenty of great opening scenes to be found for sure, but none as franchise-defining as that one) -

76960 not being a diorama after all is quite a surprising development! Wonder what it‘ll look like with a low piece count like that
