LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I hope not. Neither of them aesthetically fit in with normal sets. I hope the gimmick is something new and the returning „BS“ just a small aspect of that -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

@CodFather1: Fair point. It‘s still supremely silly for what‘s otherwise a very good movie, and arguably still the best movie featuring Supes I wouldn‘t mind a set based on it, but the number of potential ideas is rather limited compared to what Burtman sets can offer -

I‘ve seen every major Marvel or DC movie out there, and none of them had anything as mindbogglingly stupid as timetravel via reversing the rotation of the Earth. Did a 4-year old write that part?! This makes the sinking ice from GI Joe look smart! -

Is this the first minidoll set based on a live-action property? Probably the only noteworthy aspect here -

Even that is optimistic. I think it‘s a mini Batmobile -

If this is the only Quantumania set, then yes I don‘t mind the idea, but as @hvader points out, not at the cost of a minifig set. Hoping for a „real“ set in 2HY, unlikely as it may be. -

Whoops. I thought GotG came out before TWS, but it was the other way round. My bad -

While the former would be preferable, it‘s just a $30 set, so unfortunately the latter -

Same. They look so different, I just feel compelled to get two But it‘s pretty hilarious how much more lively the BotW one looks. The OoT version is a bit barren -

I meant since then. CA:TWS was the last MCU movie to be ignored, everything after that (including AoU) had at least one set dedicated to them -

…wow. I hope there‘s a real set coming, as this would the first MCU film without a proper tie-in set since what, AoU? -

So you want a Barad-dûr that misses its most iconic element?! I knew it, they‘re onto us! What can we trick them into doing next… -

Indeed! We still need a minifig list for the Mando sets. The pirate fighter is their chance to make up for the crime of not giving us a well-deserved Babu Frik figure back in 2019/20 Might not be him personally in Mando, but at least other Anzellans appear in the same scenes as the pirates/marauders who I assume the starfighter belongs to -

I knew the HP comparison would be coming Thing is, those sets can stand on their own because they‘re playsets, not display models. The microscale Hogwarts also wouldn‘t make sense as several split-up sets. And we spend a TON more screentime in Hogwarts compared to Rivendell. Splitting Hogwarts up into segments representing scenes from 8 movies works, while splitting a location seen in 2 movies for a handful of scenes wouldn‘t, IMO. Also, who buys a set that includes nothing more than a bridge and a gazebo?! -

That wouldn’t make any sense. That’d be like selling each floor of a modular building separately Sets need to be able to stand on their own, and a segmented Rivendell wouldn‘t -

I would recommend taking a look at the model on display at your local LEGO store once it gets released. This thing is HUGE. I’ve haven’t seen it in person myself of course, but I recently made shelf space for it and its footprint puts the microscale Hogwarts to shame. Things always look smaller on pictures -

True. The sets are scheduled for August, so it’s a bit too soon for a list to appear (even though some people are in the know, as you said). We don’t even know about the Marvel and DC sets yet, and those will be released two months prior! Not having high expectations, to be honest. Especially after that ominous hint by Promobricks I’m mostly excited about potential Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew sets -

They probably need permission from their sources first Excited to see the set list, but this year SW is near the very bottom of my list of favourite themes. That’s no slight against the theme, but it has strong competition from LOTR, Indy, HP, Marvel, Nintendo (if the Zelda leak pans out), Disney, and perhaps DC even! The 2HY list would have to be spectacular to knock any of the other themes down a peg
