Not in a million years, a Snyderverse set for that price tag is just out of the question. Even during the DCEU’s height this would‘ve been unlikely, and now that it‘s over, there‘s no way -

It‘s an expensive year, that‘s for sure! DC, Marvel, Star Wars, and LOTR all get a $400+ D2C set, and then there‘s Indy and Disney 100 My wallet cried out in terror and was suddenly silenced. Hope it‘s something movie-related with a reasonable footprint -

Sheesh, if they continue with D2C sets of this size, I might run into spatial trouble soon Hope it‘s something with a smaller footprint, so I hop aboard the Avengers Tower hype train for that reason -

Fair point. I sometimes forget how hard it is to get older minifigs for reasonable prices nowadays Thanks, “investors”. To the moon? More like up your *** I feel the hype for a proper NWH set is a lot higher in general. Sure, people have been asking for a Yavin base for a long time, but that feels more like a “nice-to-have” thing to me, whereas a NWH spoiler set feels essential. To me, the Yavin base has nothing to offer that can be compared to getting all three live-action Spideys and their classic villains in one set! -

Not even Durin and Elrond? Even people that hate this show's guts usually at least like that part *Distant Barad-dûr noises* Agreed though. After Barad-dûr, I hope they shift their focus towards dioramas. I don't have space for a yearly set of THAT size -

My feelings exactly. Not sure why everything has to be either fantastic or terrible nowadays. Sometimes, things are just decent or okay, which is fine too I blame Youtube. Videos à la "[Show / movie] is the [best / worst] thing EVAR!$6774$" with lots of red circles and arrows and badly photoshopped faces are better clickbait than "[Show / movie] is decent but nothing groundbreaking" I'm glad LOTR is back, but I don't need any sets based on anything other than the two trilogies. Of course I wouldn't say no to ROP sets, but I would also be fine if it's just a series of yearly D2C sets and a diorama or two. -

There are still plenty of gaps they could fill, but somehow don't seem to be interested in. I know what I outlined is the worst case scenario, but it's sadly not outside the realm of possibility -

I was thinking what new named characters we could potentially get throughout the entire year, and it looks rather bleak, unfortunately. The Mando sets in May could theoretically get away with a combination of Din, Grogu, Bo-katan, Greef, that leaked rando Mando, a Nikto pirate, and/or a TIE fighter pilot. The dioramas are pretty much confirmed not to include any new characters. The Yavin base simply cannot include anyone we haven‘t seen before. And even if it could, it’d be minor visually uninteresting background characters anyway. Even the Ahsoka sets could get away without featuring anyone new, given how many characters from Rebels return here. The Swamp Speeder could theoretically include Bly, but it might as well be based on the Battle of Kashyyyk, who knows at this point. The mechs and microfighter are also confirmed to feature characters we‘ve had countless times before. Which leaves us with the Young Jedi Adventures set, which could feature up to four brand-new characters (five if you count the droid) So yeah, our only confirmed saviour is the preschool set. Not sure whether to laugh or cry -

Whoever wins, we lose Off-topic, but what‘s rewarding about that? We‘ve already had generic pilots, the ceremony outfits, and Dodonna before I‘d agree if Rogue One minifigs were included, but they aren‘t. Marvel is still above SW for me, mostly thanks to the NWH set and the CMF series -

That gives me a sliver of hope. But they may still cheapen out and just use Kashyyyk Clones again -

Exactly. So much cool stuff they could do with desirable characters, and instead we get a dusty temple with rehashes of book exclusive minifigs and boring insignificant background characters Between this and the Marvel list, 2023 has started to sour on me very quickly. -

No. The fact I had to look them up is telling Well, great. That completely kills any potential this set might’ve had, minifig-wise. -

Of course I don‘t collect sets just for the minifigs, but they are a huge draw for me. So a $160 OT set offering nothing but rehashes is not gonna sit well with me when there are still so many actually desirable characters missing. I don‘t give a flying **** about any random ANH rebel background characters If this set included Mon Mothma and/or Nien Nunb, then ok, but that‘s not very likely. And I never found Yavin as a location even remotely interesting. The Swamp Speeder has very little potential for anything exciting either. Yeay, more Kashyyyk Clones probably. Wouldn‘t be surprised to see Commander Green again too. They might surprise me, but I kinda doubt it. -

Depending on what the Ahsoka sets are like, this is incredibly likely to become my least favourite 2HY wave they‘ve ever put out. Impressive. I‘m happy for you guys who look forward to the Yavin 4 set, but I pretty much hate the entire list. This makes the Marvel list look amazing in comparison -
