The quality of that picture is so terrible, we will only know for sure whether Bellow’s pith helmet and the idol are new pieces once we get a better look -

True. The only issue I see here is the number of new moulds that may be necessary, depending on what scenes or creatures they pick. Dioramas and brick-built creatures don‘t usually introduce new parts. Then again, none of the sets in those categories required them so far Personally, I would love to have dioramas based on the Balrog and Witch King duel scenes -

That‘s not merely an excuse, it does happen regularly. Just look at episode 3 of TLoU. I‘m not saying all negative ratings are trolls, because there a legitimate reasons for disliking content (and I‘m lukewarm on RoP myself), but you simply cannot trust anonymous user ratings, nor should they be used as „objective“ evidence -

The beard piece and elven hairpiece are also new That’s exactly the problem. A theme consisting of playsets is not sustainable if kids don‘t buy them, which is what happened last time. Also, playsets appeal to us AFOLs, but your average LOTR fan may not be enticed as much. A range of highly detailed prestige D2C sets however… Ever heard of review bombing? -

I think the castle is the only one currently missing, the remaining anniversary sets get released in June if I‘m not mistaken (which hopefully includes the four sets from the survey leak) -

I was already looking forward to the movie, but after that trailer, the hype levels are through the roof First time I‘m this excited for a DCEU movie! Hopefully the set delivers, especially in the minifig department. So many cool characters to choose from! -

Maybe the lack of TCW sets is the „controversial“ part that Promobricks was hinting at At least we have the helmets and the BP, better than nothing! Hopefully this doesn‘t mean it‘s an OT remake fest, that‘d be the worst case in my book -

Dang, didn‘t expect the house to look THIS good for the price! It even has a respectable number of balloons Excellent minifigs too, from what I can tell Doesn‘t fit the list, and if it was from the series, it would be the cheapest, laziest minifig ever to be featured in one Also, @Falconfan1414 hinted at multiple versions of Mickey across these sets a while ago -

@TandNbricks: Is that Joker balloon picture in your IG story a hint for a certain upcoming reveal? Sure hope so -

Seems like they entered production first, for whatever reason. Maybe it’s the packaging, as that‘s the only thing that‘s unique to the ACs in terms of production processes -

Sure, they haven‘t done that before, but that doesn‘t necessarily mean more sets are coming (besides Barad-dûr, that is). These packs count as one part, so in a way, they‘re like any other part exclusive to a D2C set. Or rather, they *could* be exclusive, we just don‘t know yet Let‘s see what 2024 brings (besides Barad-dûr, unless they dare to cancel it)! -

Patience, my young Padawan The same thing happened with Marvel, where AC figures leaked before we had the 2HY set list. That‘s a really cool figure! One of my favourite AC exclusives in a while -

Depends on which Kang, and I mean that in two ways: comics vs MCU, and if it’s the latter, which specific variant A variant shows up in Loki S2 as well, after all. And there might be other appearances before The Kang Dynasty that we don‘t know about yet -

The Ant-man set has been added to s@h. Hopefully we‘re going to see official pics of the GotG sets soon too! Definitely the most exciting Marvel sets this year apart from the NWH set -

I liked everything they’ve released so far this year (what little there is), but this marks the first time I might consider the entire year as underwhelming, depending on what the bigger 2HY sets are going to be and what the minifig selection of the two Mando sets is like. 2021 and 2022 were “saved” by the 2HY sets, and I’m not sure how likely that is this time The smell of remakes is in the air Not a hint or anything, just a hunch -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
No, what I meant is that minifig-less sets (like the helmets) are not an indication that minifigs are less important overall. It’s just a diversification of TLG’s product portfolio. Also, we’ve had entire minifig-less THEMES for ages, and those were never seen as a threat Sure. But we don’t know (and probably never will) what they would’ve done if builable figures weren’t a thing. It’s not unthinkable that there simply wouldn’t have been a tie-in set at all Maybe the first two Ant-man sets really sold poorly, as others have pointed out -

*citation needed No, there isn’t an anti-minifig conspiracy going on. Just because we’re getting sets without minifigs doesn’t mean they’re somehow limiting them. The buildable objects are an addition, not a replacement. If they cancelled Cap’s Shield for instance, they wouldn’t replace it with a $200 minifig set. There simply wouldn’t be a $200 set. Something you don’t like existing doesn’t mean something you would’ve liked would’ve been produced in its place -

Exactly. Why would anyone need mechs when we already have microfighters, which are cheaper to boot? Also, while they fit for Marvel, SW mechs make little sense as there are very few in-universe examples. Granted, there are a lot of nonsensical SW toys out there (Hot Wheels and Transformers come to mind), but TLG don’t have to add to that pile -

Imagine people having different opinions about plastic toys, how dare they It’s a lot better than I thought it would be! Would’ve preferred a minifig set, but it’s a good Ant-man figure nonetheless Pushback? In what form? Riots in the streets? Just vote with your wallet by not buying them if you don’t like them -

Based on Promobricks‘ recent comment or do you know something we don‘t? I mean, the wave was only described as „a bit controversial“. Most likely, yes. Kang will show up in 2025 sets at the latest and MODOK will surely appear again too, so no need to panic -
