So the implication is that the Swamp Speeder is a BP? That’d be cool, albeit with a pretty steep price hike -

Simple. Characters from Rogue One Or even better, just another set altogether -

I don't count kitbashed minifigs There has to be more than just a single faceprint to count, at least in my eyes -

Quality over quantity. I don‘t care if a set includes 10+ minifigs, if none of them are new or even remotely interesting I‘m way more excited for a set with 5 minifigs where 2-3 of them are new compared to one with 11, all of which are either full repeats or have just sliiiiiiiightly updated prints. I‘m not getting excited about roughly 4 slightly tweaked torso prints Those sets feature a ton of new characters or variants wherever possible, which SW seems to actively avoid sometimes -

The only sets I have some hope for are the Mando and Ahsoka ones. I don‘t have much faith in that unknown one. Maybe a remake of one of the Freemaker sets, or a buildable Ben Quadrinaros Wait, those aren‘t from the OT. Buildable Moisture Vaporaptor! -

The number of minifigs also heavily depends on the source material. A comic-inspired Batcave obviously has a lot more potential than one based on the Nolan trilogy, Burtman, or 60s show. A cave based on TAS would be neat too! -

Something‘s just off. I think the watermark stamp is different from the survey leaks, but I can‘t put my finger on it. -

It is a bit suspicious that we don‘t know anything beyond the set numbers, but I don‘t think that means they‘re cancelled. Or so I hope, at least. Do we have a similar case where that happened before? The Star Wars ST sets were notoriously shrouded in secrecy yet we still learned the prices and part counts quite early -

I still wish they went back to polybags. Like those awesome minifig stands we had for the RO, TLJ, and Solo sets! Imagine what we could‘ve had if they continued with those. Last year‘s promo was a step in the right direction, but please something other than OT content this time. I‘m getting sick and tired of it -

The DoD sets were never scheduled for April though. Come to think of it, they‘ve never had a release date attached to them. Or prices. Or part counts. …oh. I see where the leakers are coming from. But there must be a reason. Higher secrecy or something? -

@FoggyFate was the first one to bring it up. While on his recent Star Wars/Marvel/DC leak trip, he said there might be bad news coming in regards to Indy. We thought this was about the quality/selection of the DoD sets, but in hindsight this was likely hinting at the cancellation rumours There must a rational reason though why the set numbers don‘t show up in retailer’s systems. Cancelling one set is silly enough, but an entire wave based on an upcoming movie would be the most idiotic thing they‘ve ever done -

Unless we get around 3-5 new and exciting minifigs in the Mando / Ahsoka sets, the NWH set is winning by default for its minifigs alone I mean, come on. The 2021 2HY sets gave us Bo-katan, Moff Gideon, a Darktrooper, Fennec Shand, the Armorer, TCW Maul, and the Bad Batch. Last year’s counterpart wave brought us Omega, a new Cad Bane, Taun We, Cody, new versions of the Inquisitors, Ned-B, Peli Motto, and two(!!) BD-Droids. This year? Nothing, so far. Granted, we don’t have minifig lists yet. However, my point is, something like those two lists is pretty much impossible to achieve with what we know so far -

I‘m still looking forward to whatever they end up releasing, but this does not bode well for any long-term plans Now only two out of five movies are represented for certain, or three if the DoD reports were exaggerated. -

That‘s a really awesome idea! Certainly better than what we‘re actually getting That‘s another thing that ticks me off, how close to greatness they‘re sometimes getting, and yet they go for the „save“ and boring option. The TIE Bomber easily could‘ve been based on Andor (yeah yeah, those were TIE Shuttles actually, but still) Yoda‘s Jedi Starfighter could‘ve been Obi-Wan‘s blue one or Anakin‘s green version The Yavin set could‘ve included RO minifigs The Swamp Speeder could include Bly (technically still possible, not sure how likely that is tho) Gahhh. Take it away, Krennic -

That depends on what the Mando and Ahsoka sets are like. Currently, the NWH set by itself outshines everything SW has to offer this year, at least in my book Those 4-5 sets better be good, or else SW can dwell at the very bottom of my list. Even Minecraft and Mario currently rank above SW, as they don‘t do anything to actively draw my ire -

Sure, I know they put out that statement. That‘s not a proper explanation though, because if that‘s the reason, how did it go that far into production? Not a single person involved in the process noticed it was a military vehicle until release? No no, I meant that technical flaw that people discovered afterwards, where a gear vital to the model was completely shredded after a few uses of the set‘s main function. That must‘ve played into the cancellation decision too. I own that set, but contrary to what other people say, I don‘t think the 2008/09 sets have aged that gracefully, especially the minifigs. Not putting them on display again Also I want to know the reason for the cancellation so we can figure out whether ToD as a whole is off the table or just this set. I hope we can get updated minifigs of Short Round and Willie in another set at least -

How do we know it actually is a good reason? The Osprey cancellation is equally baffling and they never gave a proper explanation Also, there’s an important aspect missing from our metaphor (which I guess is my fault since I started with that in the first place): We knew about our “presents” since last July Months of build-up and anticipation dashed in an instant. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be mad about a set being canned mere weeks ahead of its release, 7 months after we learned of its existence. Call me entitled, but this development really does bother me. -

Not sure about that “leak”, doesn’t look real to me and the subject matter is baffling. That’s one of the drawbacks to that survey leak: now people can stamp confidential watermarks over their creations and claim it’s from another survey like that The idea of forging prelims itself is not new, but the survey leak gives them more cover since those are A) unfinished too, B) harder to disprove by actual trusted leakers since they could be from a different year, and C) if the fake set never gets released, the “leakers” can just claim it was cancelled I think that leak opened Pandora’s box in a way -

Thing is, I kept calling 2023 the best year so far for months, primarily based on the fact Indy and LOTR both return, Gringotts is finally happening, a proper NWH set will get released, how excellent the Disney 100 stuff is, JP getting an entire wave, and DC returning to form. And there’s the survey leak with a potential Zelda set. All of that put 2023 at the top, no question. But then came the SW and Marvel news, and worst of all, the cancellation of the Indy set(s) yesterday. Sure, this shouldn’t detract from all the good stuff listed above, but it still does in my eyes. It’s like discovering raisins in the middle of your delicious donut. Still edible, but all you can now think of are those disgusting raisins and their aftertaste -

Now I feel stupid for buying the 2013 one for an outrageous price 1.5 years ago. Especially with those &@€€!? stickers you had to put on the windscreen. I had to buy a second copy of the windscreen on Bricklink because of how badly I had screwed it up the first time At least the new one will have printed windscreens I suppose. Still a baffling choice, but it fits right in with the 2HY stuff -

I like the sound of a new Batcave, but why does it have to be this large? I have no idea where to put that monstrosity They’re really going overboard with these $500 sets
