Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Doesn’t make it any less creatively bankrupt Batman doesn’t count, as every version is completely different with different stories and villains. They’re reboots, not remakes. And in the other cases, the originals were either ancient or not all that popular anymore to begin with. Ok, that was maybe uncalled for. However, I still think it’s a terrible idea to turn a series of beloved, iconic, high-profile movies into a streaming show. If this is financially successful, which I’m afraid it’s going to be, it’s gonna set a precedent. Those buffoons already announced a Twilight show, so Hunger Games and Lord of the Rings remake shows cannot be far behind. What next after that? A 007 streaming show? A Jurassic Park remake show? A Star Wars remake show?! Ok, the last one is not happening in our lifetimes As I’ve said, I’ll do the same thing I do with all shows (except for Stranger Things and the Marvel and Star Wars shows): just ignore it Movies are where it’s at, for me personally at least. The main thing is, that I just don’t want sets based on it. -

Scabior is the clear highlight for me here. I like the costume he’s wearing, Nick Moran did a good job portraying him, he’s got a fair amount of screentime in both parts of DH, and he had a memorable death scene. So I’m very happy to have a minifig of his in this set Then we have the DH version of McGonagall, plus Molly and one of the statues, representing the piertotum locomotor scene, which is one of my favourite moments in the entire series. Another win in my book. Another Bellatrix is also exciting, especially since we could get a printed skirt this time! Voldy could theoretically come with a new facial expression (like an angry one) and a new Elder Wand, if we’re lucky. Harry and Neville are most likely just repeats, but it’s still nice to have them. -

Later today, @Brick Clicker will report about the Batcave And he will talk about the “fate” of the Flash set. Not hopeful for the latter, but hearing more about the former is exciting! Hoping for a minifig list and a description of the layout. Oh, and the dimensions. Need to make space for that monster -

We don’t know. The only thing we ever heard was the alleged set list from Promobricks. But both the reported set numbers and what the sets were supposed to be based on were just assumptions I hope Promobricks will clarify that at some point. I suppose the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding and there never were DoD sets to begin with -

Trelawney’s newest star pupil has spoken God, they’ve become so predictable it’s not even funny anymore. The announcement of the Hunger Games remake series can only be days away. On a lighter note, the fact we received details on the Ninjago sets and official pictures of a Disney set (all scheduled for June) has me confident we might hear something soon Maybe not the official reveal, but a teaser or more leaks would be nice -

How so? It‘s just gonna be another OT Boba, which we‘ve had 20 versions of already. Not saying it‘s not gonna be good, but we‘ve had excellent versions of him with printed arms, legs, and a cape before, and a mech version probably won‘t have all that. I think that title will more likely go to Bo-katan, Rex, or any of the countless exciting minifigs in the Ahsoka sets -

Same! Very enjoyable build, cool minifigs, nice part usages throughout, and Goyle’s Chair of Doom is the cherry on top Speaking of doom: Sadly, my enjoyment of the building experience was tainted by the sudden news that 77014 had been cancelled Funny how memory encoding works. -

OH NO NOT AGAIN I did that for the Art sets, but not this time Actually, you’d “only” need 6 copies since the set includes 12 panels! -

72 ideas are included! Gonna be pretty tough for me to decide which 10 to choose -

Fair enough. Given this theme‘s track record, more of the same is a good thing though -

It‘s not really new though, as it’s pretty much the same style used for Hagrid and that big troll from the Trolls theme. All three even share the same arm pieces Not sure how well it would work for Beast, but certainly better than a minifig or a bigfig ever could. Or that hilariously awful minidoll. I mean the head was ok, but that lanky minidoll body just didn‘t work AT ALL. -

Marvel still has way more playsets than HP tho Sure, there are the buildable figures and Cap‘s shield, but also playsets based on the Infinity Saga, GotG V3, NWH, and The Marvels, plus the 4+ Spidey sets, the mechs, and the Morbmobile HP however has just 5 regular playsets this year across three waves. -

Personally, I didn‘t mind the mish-mash up until this point, but this year, there are too few regular playsets in my opinion. Other than that, the theme is still doing great, I feel -

I’m only speaking for myself here, but that’s like asking me whether I would prefer getting bland toast or an exquisit 5 course meal If they play their cards right, an Imperial Commando BP could be amazing!! Ideally, it would include Fingers crossed for January! -

Lupin, Slughorn, Flitwick, and Aberforth come to mind, but they’ve all appeared before (or will do so soon, as far as the latter is concerned). Maybe not in the exact outfits, but it’s close enough Lucius and Narcissa don’t count, as they didn’t participate in the battle. I’m very happy with what we’re getting here! And I don’t feel sad about the lack of generic Death Eaters at all. Just place random evil-looking heads and normal hairpieces on robed torsos, and voilà, there’s your DH2 Death Eaters I know I keep ranting about this, but they were so much cooler before dropping the masks -

That’s the official reveal, not a leak I like what I’m seeing, even though I’m not much of a Sonic fan. Wonder if Knuckles is in the final set! The minifig selection isn’t exactly varied, otherwise -

Good thing the minifig lists for WWW and HE were just speculation! I hope the actual selection is a bit more interesting than that However, Stonewars seem to think that both of these sets are scheduled for August. Hope that’s not the case, as that would mean that 76415 is our only playset in June -

It kinda has to be, though. Releasing a Batcave set without a Batmobile to go along with it would be pretty silly. And we don’t have any unknown sets left that could fill that role -

I’m still hoping they’ll bring back the great grey owl from the 2010/11 sets. That, the tan BAM owl and the dark orange City owl are the only ones that haven’t shown up in recent HP sets yet. The grey one would require a new print (unless the sand blue one is already supposed to represent that species?) and BAM pieces stay exclusive, so the dark orange one has the best chances -

Exactly! This has "playset of the year" potential for me! If we're lucky, we could also get Nagini, a new Voldy face, more accurate hair for Molly, and a new Elder Wand ...Ok, now I might get greedy. Scabior, DH McGonagall, and a statue are already amazing Exactly what I wanted back in 2011, and now we're finally getting it!! -

WWW and the HE sound very boring in terms of minifigs, as expected. Hopefully Lavender is a significant improvement over the 2020 version at least! As nice as it is to have more representation from the later movies, why oh why did it have to be HBP DH is right there! Fixed that for you -

Thanks! Hm, not exactly much we didn’t know already. My highlight of these tidbits is the statue, as I was hoping for one to be included! The BoH is definitely the best-sounding set of the June wave by quite a margin. The patronus set being a 2-in-1 makes sense. Wonder what that looks like
