Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don‘t have any real stake in the whole blind bag vs blind box discussion since I always buy entire cases, but if I were a regular customer in a shop, I wouldn‘t want to buy bags that were handled by dozens of people with their unwashed mittens Call it anti-consumerist, but the whole point of blind bags/boxes is that you don‘t know what you‘re getting. The bagged CMF series were already a big exception on the toy/collectible market as you can‘t „cheat“ by feeling the contents with most other products. Closing that loophole was only a matter of time -

Good point! We need two of those doofuses to send down into the abyss along with their mine cart -

True, but they couldn‘t have gotten away with it for those minifigs as the respective polyjuiced characters didn‘t exist separately before (i.e., Barty Crouch Jr, Crabbe, Goyle, Grindelwald). Here, they theoretically could do that. Of course I‘m hoping for a new dual-sided head with unique expressions instead! I doubt the goblins will all have unique parts, so I assume there are two dual-sided faceprints, three different hairpieces, and two torso prints. These parts could then easily be used to create a variety of goblins -

You‘re right, he was in S2! Still, they haven‘t reused many of the prints there, so I‘d still expect DH Griphook to get a new torso print (if he‘s included, that is). Why they still refuse to use the CMF faceprints for Bellatrix and HBP Hermione in regular sets is beyond me. And yeah, of course it‘s a polyjuiced Hermione that should be in the set and a new dual-sided faceprint would be great, but it‘s just cheaper to instead include two reused heads, so that‘s what they likely did -

According to @Brick Clicker, 10 of the 13 minifigs in the Gringotts set will be new Wonder who the repeats are gonna be. Bellatrix and Griphook seem likely, even though the DH version of the latter was part of the first CMF, so the torso print would have to be new. Unless it's PS Griphook from the 2021 AC -

According to @Brick Clicker, the three X-Men minifigs in the CMF series all come with Sentinel pieces which you can then combine, so the series technically has 13 figures -

Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It’s been rumoured for a while that the three Marvels and one of the villains would be included. And remember the whole „only 3 minifigs in a $90 set?!?!“ discussion we‘ve had in this thread? -

We knew that already, no need to become paranoid over this It‘s a pretty decent minifig! No leg printing, but the torso and face are both new, so that‘s cool Hope it‘s a dual-sided head with blue eyes on the other side! -

Yeah, I‘m not fully buying it, but I also have no reason to outright deny the rumour, so we shall see Either way, the wait is almost over, after more than three years. Hope it‘ll be worth it, but judging by what we know already, it does have „set a the year“ potential! -

I don‘t really care whatever -Wing is in that set, as long as we get an E-Wing at some point And if it ends up being an X-Wing, at least give it an interesting colour scheme, TLG -

Exabricks is quite reliable though. And revealing it two weeks earlier than usual isn‘t too farfetched -

Allegedly, the Gringotts set will be revealed on July 18th So, we can expect a leak this weekend, then? -

Factory leaks have become increasingly rare. Some minifigs still manage to slip through the cracks, but I expect the package/leaflet to leak first -

Deadpool 3 will be R-rated though, so tie-in sets can be ruled out. Sure, Deadpool is a bit different from other R-rated franchises, but still, I highly doubt they’re willing to cross that line If you‘ve seen the first two movies, you know why. I can already see the headlines if this ended up happening regardless. “Kids not allowed to see movie their LEGO toys are inspired by. Karen wants to speak to Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen“. Unless they want to advertise playsets to adults only, which would be weird. Imagine the 18+ label suddenly being an actual age restriction rather than a recommendation -

Thrawn and Ezra alone are reason enough for at least another set next year. Same goes for Mando S3, which also has a lot of potential still Hope next year’s winter wave is a return to form, as the last three January waves were all less than stellar Edit: Maybe the Ghost reveal was initially supposed to tie in with the trailer since the latter was allegedly delayed for a couple of days -

Don’t forget about the March wave! Since a new Hogwarts system certainly wouldn’t be introduced until the big June wave, we might still get one expansion in the 2021 style in March. Also, we can surely expect a new gimmick type of set (no idea what though). -

You mean @Puresh (not) eating the Joyce minifig? Well, Stranger Things sounded unlikely too, but it was only rated TV-14, so the equivalent of PG-13. Deadpool has a hard R-rating, so it’s infinitely less likely. I thus feel very safe with my wager -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Eh. I’m not starting to worry until I see Deadpool staring at me on a LEGO box I’ll only eat that minifig if they release an unmistakably direct tie-in set Remember, this is the franchise that caused multiple Karens to lose their marbles when they took lil Jimmy to see the movie, not realising what “R-rated” means. I doubt TLG saw that whole mess and thought “yeah, let’s get in on that madness!!” You’re my favourite customer. -

…what kind of sets do you actually like? Given how diverse Ideas is as a theme, it strikes me as incredibly unlikely that not a single one of them appeals to a LEGO fan. -

You’re just a chicken, cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep! Exactly. Also, us customers have influence too, as we vote with our wallets The buildable objects must sell pretty decently, otherwise TLG wouldn’t continue to produce them. This type of set has been around long enough now that TLG clearly know how well it’s doing -

Trans-neon-orange has been discontinued, so the blades will either be trans-red (boo!!) or trans-orange (yeay!) They don't exist in trans-orange yet. Edit: The Ghost can be pre-ordered on s@h! I hope this means the other two sets will follow suit very soon
