LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not really, they always save some characters for subsequent waves. They need some selling points for those too, after all Plus, the three sets we have are already filled to the brim with desirable minifigs, already adding Ezra and Thrawn would've been complete overkill -

According to what, Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB user scores, which are both known for review bombing? It got an 'A' Cinemascore, like most MCU movies, which is much more reliable. No idea why people keep trying to push the narrative that it was somehow a flop or hated or both. Reminds me of the people that somehow try to argue that Avatar 2 was a flop -

She doesn’t seem to have her mask in the movie, so that at least makes sense -

I just realised that Baylan has a new faceprint! Before, I thought it was the same as Admiral Ematt’s The expression and the beard are nearly identical, but the eyebrows differ and Baylan has fewer wrinkles -

There is a difference between “dislike” and “hate”. I specifically refer to those numbskulls that throw a tantrum every time Captain Marvel or Brie Larson are brought up -

As expected, the three Ahsoka sets are my absolute favourites this year, no other SW sets even come close The Mando sets were good, but not great, and the others are a bit of a mixed bag. Still can’t believe we’re getting so many new characters here! Sometimes, things sound too good to be true, and yet they aren’t -

Why not? So far, every MCU movie since CA:TWS got at least one set. Quantumania only had a buildable figure, sure, but a tie-in is a tie-in The lack of villains this year doesn’t mean they’ll reduce the MCU output. The first exception will be Deadpool 3, but that’s for good reason. I don’t see any reason why CA: BNW and Thunderbolts would not have sets dedicated to them -

Both sets look amazing! Love of all of the minifigs too. Pretty disappointed in the lightsabers though. Trans-red just doesn’t fit -

Technically, they’re flerkens, not cats It’s very cute to have three of them in a set though! I wish there were as many as in that trailer shot- 5,876 replies

Good news, promobricks just reported that the $100 Ahsoka set includes an E-Wing, not an X-Wing The NR character is Captain Porter. I think he’s referring to the E-Wing -

“Weak franchise”? What are you talking about? The first movie grossed over a billion And the only hate I’ve seen is from incels -

Says who? There’s nothing to suggest that 18+ sets take slots that would otherwise have gone to playsets. After all, there is no fixed number of sets every year, it constantly fluctuates. We still get plenty of playsets every year -

I only have three criticisms here: The price (duh) Lack of villains like Dar-Benn or a Kree soldier All of the Marvels’ powers being represented by the same set of power blast pieces. Including a purple one maybe would’ve been overkill, but they could’ve included a trans-purple fist piece for Ms Marvel at least They’re not dealbreakers to me though. -

Quite expensive for what it is, but I love the colour scheme and shaping of the ship! The minifigs are well done and the flerken kittens are a cute addition -

The Hoopty? That name is certainly a choice Looking forward to the reveal, despite none of the villains being included. At least we’re getting Goose again -

Ok, the face is a bit derpy, but it’s not that bad! Let’s just hope they’ll never do human characters in this style -

After ogling at all of the pictures for a while, I hereby declare this my favourite set of the year. It has easily surpassed my expectations, and those were really high to begin with. The three year wait was worth it! It also single-handedly raises HP to my second-favourite theme of the year It’s still behind Disney 100, but now ahead of LotR -

Maybe there's a turntable inside, with two cups on the other side? That would explain why the cup is attached to a clip. I just measured the space above my display cabinet, and it's 72cm Still undecided whether I'll display the set in its stacked composition with the Ironbelly placed on the underground section, or have the bank next to the mines with the dragon perched on top -

Looks like the PS is represented by a printed 1x2 tile (held by Hagrid in one of the pictures) Makes sense, as it was inside a parcel in the scene. Love the soaking wet alternative faces for the trio! -

Can‘t wait to see high-res close-ups The Death Eater currently looks more like a Knight of Ren Hopefully more of them show up in sets next year, but it‘s great to finally have a post-GoF one. The goblins look great too! No new hairpiece though. The Leicester Square LEGO store wall decoration was not a preview after all The three vaults are the Potter‘s, the Lestrange‘s, and the one where the PS was kept Too bad the PS isn‘t shown on any of the pictures -

The three vaults are mostly facades, so the GWP makes more sense now Didn‘t expect the new moulded dragon pieces! At least new to me. So much cool stuff -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The leakers have said so from the start. I see no reason to doubt them Whatever the GWP vault ends up being, it pretty much has to be a repeat of one of the three in the set. I can’t imagine them dedicating a GWP set to a location that‘s not visited in the movies. Maybe it‘s more like a vignette or a mini-diorama to distinguish it from the version seen in the big set -

It‘s probably gonna be the Potter vault. The one hosting the philosopher‘s stone is too barren and the Lestrange one too elaborate for a GWP set Not sure what the point is as it‘s not going to be compatible with this set. But hey, gift horse and all…
