  1. Are you sure about that? He‘s been in five movies (six if you count the Deadpool cameo), and those have ignored a lot of the classic cast, which should bump him up in the ranking quite a few spots In the movies, he’s been one of the very few permanent members after his introduction (not chronologically of course since he wasn’t in the first two instalments, but in terms of movie releases). Sure, he may not be in the top 10 if you ask a comic book fan, but they are not representative of general audiences. Heck, ask people on the street who the leader of the X-Men is and I guarantee people will say Wolverine or Prof X
  2. According to @Lego_Minecraft_Goat, 43231 is based on Wish. No word on what the other unknown sets are based on
  3. Only the three X-Men figures are rumoured to come with Sentinel parts though I expect it to be more akin to an advent calendar build with 10 to 15 pieces. No way it’s gonna be that elaborate
  4. Actually, yes. Even though the MCU shows haven’t been doing so well lately, I would say they’re currently still more in the public consciousness than the X-Men are. Their last movie was released 4 years ago and ended up being a huge flop and the only current projects are the continuation of a 90s cartoon and Deadpool 3, which will most likely be delayed
  5. I wouldn’t dare doing that to be honest It’s not flimsy, but also not exactly the most stable of builds. Maybe someone has found a way to safely do so, but all I can think of when I hear “wall-mounted Star Destroyer” is a dramatic reenactment of the Executor’s final moments
  6. S1 was revealed exactly two years ago, so it’s only a matter of days until we get to see official pictures of S2 I’m sure MinifigureMaddness will accept pre-orders very soon thereafter
  7. Yeah, I currently have no idea how to display this thing, especially since it’s a TCW set I keep the sets based on the animated shows in different display cabinets than the other SW sets, so the purist in me can’t really put it where I have my other UCS sets (also, there’s no space left there for this monster anyway). Maybe it can fit on top of those display cabinets, but the set’s probably too tall for that, even though it should be a bit more flat than the Star Destroyer. I need the exact dimensions before I can make any proper plans
  8. You’ve answered your own question If they couldn’t release X-Men minifigs, they obviously wouldn’t be featured in S2
  9. The 2011 one was indeed pretty charming, but it was SO inaccurate it’s almost comical What a difference 12 years can make! Not sure how well that would sell on its own. Besides, both individual aspects would have to be D2C sets, so they’d have to be released at separate times (maybe even separate years). I could see people wanting the bank without the minecarts (a sentiment shared by people in this very thread), but not really the other way around, so a separate minecart set would likely not have sold that well. Unless it was way cheaper, but then it wouldn’t be large enough to support the bank on top. Thus I’m glad they decided to go with the ultimate Gringotts set, including everything associated with the bank in one neat package
  10. Technically, it did. The big Ecto-1 model had the gunner seat that only appeared in Afterlife plus all the rust stickers Too bad there were no playsets
  11. Agreed! 2023 started off rather weak (still better than 2022 and 2021's 1HY sets), but the August wave is solid and the Ahsoka sets are just brilliant. I've also done my fair share of complaining, I admit that, but mostly when it comes to a lack of new-ness The Yavin set for instance has grown on me once it became clear that we'd get Red Leader and the CMF medal piece with new printing. The Yoda set on the other hand is one of the most worthless SW sets ever. The last minifig-scale Landspeeder for instance at least included a new poncho for Luke, this set however has NOTHING to offer
  12. Technically, only one set has been cancelled. We don't know if the other four ever existed in the first place, and my gut says no That said, I'll go even further than that and call it the single biggest LEGO-related disappointment in my 24 years of collecting, and by a LARGE margin. I had been disappointed plenty of times before, but mostly at characters being omitted (like Bolg, a lot of HP characters pre-2018, Saw Gerrera etc.) or unnecessary remakes being released (like the 2021 HP wave, which turned out to be much better than anticipated, but I digress). This is on a completely different level. Of course the (fake?) rumour is also partially to blame, but I would've been disappointed in the lack of DoD sets either way, whether sets were rumoured or not. Nobody would've guessed that they'd bring the back the theme only to skip the new movie. There is a tiny chance that they might rectify this next year with another wave, but I have my doubts. There is no precedence for a theme that started with such a small wave to continue into the following year.
  13. Exactly. No Rex or Cody: people complain. New Cody gets released: people complain. New Rex gets released: people complain. Don’t get me wrong, criticism is ok, but it’s still funny to me how LSW fans are virtually impossible to please
  14. Oh, it is accurate, and that’s exactly why it gives me the creeps
  15. There’s also a close-up of Palpy’s new faceprints. The smiling one is more cursed than the buildable Yoda and Chewie squared. No, cubed.
  16. Thank you! Well done, as always I recently rewatched the Gringotts break-in scene, and funnily enough spotted the exact same two unnamed goblins that you picked. Granted, the ginger one is pretty obvious as he gets quite the reaction shot when the dragon bursts through the floor
  17. True, but it would also be a pretty big coincidence that we‘re confused about two characters portrayed by African American actors with similar hairstyles that both have a helmet with a blue visor and an Ant-Man microfig as an accessory Unless the prelim image leaks, my theory is that one or two leakers initially got it wrong and the rest was a game of telephone. Not every leaker is privy to leaked images, sometimes they have to rely on what their informants are telling them
  18. As I‘ve said, it‘s not just about the graphical design. There are huge logistics behind the production and the moulds, printing pads and so on need to be prepared too. From what we know, the production is not flexible enough to allow for a minifig to be swapped in this spontaneously. And why would they fully design more than 12 minifigs? Sketches, sure, but the final roster must be decided pretty early on. Otherwise that‘s just a waste of resources. The leakers being wrong is not necessarily the correct explanation as we can only speculate, however, it is the easiest one, applying Ockham‘s razor. Also, don‘t get me wrong, I generally trust our leakers, but they have been wrong before. VERY wrong. Remember Peach‘s Castle and the Black Panther vehicle?
  19. You say it, last year. Plenty of time to change production schedules. And I‘m still not sure whether that Flash torso was even real This is not just about the package design, but the entire production process.
  20. True, but there‘s also a big issue with the timeframe. Thanks to the Potter S2 leak in 2020, we know that CMF series are finalised very early on. The finalised package design of that series already leaked in the middle of March. Assuming the Marvel series was also finished by March, I highly doubt they had enough time to replace a minifig at that point
  21. I highly doubt they design backup minifigs in case one has to be removed from the roster. How likely is it that an actor goes completely ballistic? Granted, it happened twice recently, but it‘s still not something I would expect them to have contingency plans for To me, it‘s far more likely somebody confused Kang with Goliath. The Ant-Man accessory and the blue visor can‘t be coincidences, and Kang wouldn‘t have made such sense in an otherwise D+ laser-focussed series anyway.
  22. Dune sets would indeed be cool, but that ship has long sailed I’m afraid. The 2nd comes out pretty soon (unless it gets delayed as rumours suggest) and after that, there’s only that Sisterhood show left, plus an adaptation of the second book apparently. The rest of the books are probably too weird to be adapted. The films are definitely in TLG’s ballpark, both content- and age rating-wise, but I doubt too many kids are actually into Dune An Icons set aimed at adults would be awesome though!
  23. What we need is a Death Eater battlepack Not very realistic, I know. However, a small Battle of the Department of Mysteries set or one based on the Battle of the Seven Potters would do the trick too. In general, I hope $20 sets make a return next year. A small set like that was sorely missing from this year‘s summer wave
  24. Personally, I found that scene hilarious They seriously tried to I'm not saying Secret Invasion had to be on the same level as the comic counterpart, but some higher stakes would have been appreciated. Sure, they try to have that, but without actually bringing in an Avenger or two, it still feels small-scale. Let's be real, as soon as the Avengers showed up, Gravik would be toast
  25. I clearly said „in my opinion“, so what gave you the impression I spoke for someone other than myself? She‘s one of the best characters in the show, but wouldn‘t make for a particularly interesting minifig. Again, just my two cents
