Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
This looks fantastic, in spite of the potato quality of the image There must a really sturdy Technic skeleton in there, hope this is more stable than it looks! Also, I have no idea if it fits on my shelf, given how tall it is. I might have to display the bank and underground section next to each other Edit: Since Hagrid is included, it’s safe to assume that PS Harry is also there. That leaves one repeat -

As nostalgic as the 2011 set is to me, the new one is 100% gonna wipe the floor with it It will make the 2011 set look like the 2002 one. Speaking of Gringotts: If the reveal rumour is correct, TLG can be proud of themselves! No leaks this time (unless I just jynxed it) …Then again, that‘s also a good counterargument for why the rumour could be bogus. Anyway, fingers crossed for tomorrow! -

Yeah, that doesn‘t make much sense to me either. Why are the choices being so heavily criticised right now, rather than in spring when the list was first leaked? Did people secretly hope the list was somehow wrong? Granted, one character was, but that‘s beside the point. Say what you will about the choices, but the execution looks great! Dual-moulding, arm-printing, new hairpieces, new animal sidekicks, and so on. And why is Agatha one of the characters being singled out? I remember people being very unhappy about her exclusion in Series 1, and now people are annoyed with her inclusion -

While I vastly prefer movies over shows and agree that a lot of the MCU shows are pretty mediocre (and would‘ve been much better served as movies with a lot of the unnecessary fat trimmed), I still wouldn‘t want a CMF series filled with A-listers who constantly appear in sets anyway. And the increased budget is not a good argument to me, given how detailed a lot of the Iron Man minifigs already are To me, that‘s like saying that Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy should have replaced four characters from Disney S3. Or saying that a third Potter series would need Dumbledore, Luna, and Neville again -

Hasn‘t he recently confirmed that he‘s reprising his role for the second season of What if…? Also, I don‘t get why people want characters like Iron Man or Cap to be featured in a 12 figure series. I‘ll take characters like Echo or Agatha that are very unlikely to appear in sets over overabundant A-listers any day -

We could still get a Kang minifig once the next Avengers movie gets released. Depending on what happens in the meantime, with the likeness of a new actor perhaps? -

So yesterday's grainy leaks were actually real?! Beast and Moon Knight have new pieces after all, huh. And it's another blue series gahhhhhh -

Kang, Goliath, whatever. As long as the rumours about Agatha, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Moon Knight, Mr Knight, and Werewolf by Night are true, I'm still satisfied with this series -

Oh, the loot box thing. I would say a series of 12 equally rare $5 figures and loot boxes that require thousands of dollars to maybe get you what you want are not the exact same thing Which leaker is it? Brick Clicker doesn't seem to be sure about this one. -
LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It is. No idea why, but it's not the first time a random, completely unrelated set gets released alongside a wave dedicated to a new film or show. Remember the ANH Death Star set that was inexplicably released alongside the first TROS wave in 2019? -

That doesn‘t make any sense. Not only do Goliath and Kang look nothing alike, what‘s up with the blue extra head then? -

Preliminary CMF pictures aren‘t even a thing though. Maybe internally, but the public hasn‘t seen a single one in the last 13 years Also, I highly doubt they‘d be able to replace Kang with another character this quickly. The allegations against Majors came out rather recently. And even if they did replace Kang, why Goliath of all characters? Bill Foster has not suited up so far, so what would they even do, feature a comic version in an MCU series? Not that I would mind a minifig of Lawrence Fishburne, but his character is probably not that high up on anyone‘s MCU wanted list anyway. Probably doesn‘t even crack most people’s top 30 -

This looks fake to me. Moon Knight doesn‘t have the existing hood piece and Beast doesnt have the Wolverine hairpiece as previously rumoured. And if was actually real, why is the picture quality this horrendous? I‘ve seen better Bigfoot and Nessie pictures -

Sort of. There was only one per box, so it was a bit more rare than other minifigs. I wouldn't call it a chase figure though -

When I buy a bag of gummy bears at the grocery store, I wouldn't expect people having thoroughly kneaded it top to bottom to feel for its contents There's a difference between light touching and a strip search. I'm not a germaphobe, mind, I just don't like the thought. The series itself sounds amazing though! My favourite aspects are definitely Kang (to make up for the lack of proper Quantumania sets), the Darkhold, Agatha, purple power blasts (always nice to get them in new colours), Mr Knight, Moon Knight, the scarab, Lucky, the new owl, Werewolf by Night, and the bloodstone. Can't wait for pictures! Also, hoping for red boxart here. I'm sick and tired of blue or white CMF boxart -

That owl in Hawkeye was so adorable! If the LEGO version is even remotely as cute, I hope they will use that new piece in as many sets as possible Not expecting it to show in the Gringotts set already, but there will be plenty of opportunities next year- 5,876 replies

…I think there is a very good reason they would never use paper bags for that Of course. The Vidiyo blind boxes were sold that way too, so why would this be different? -

So the the two unknown BrickHeadz turned out to be Sonic and Tails. Dang it, I was really hoping for an Indy BrickHead! I’m probably the only one here annoyed at the lack of BrickHead representation, but it’s sad that Indy is now the only licensed minifig theme I can think of that doesn‘t have a single BrickHead Even Minions and Avatar got a few! -

I wasn‘t justifying it though, just pointing out that this is par for the course for blind bag/box toys. The market as a whole is morally dubious at best, I agree. Nonetheless, I would argue that CMF series aren‘t as bad as other products since all figures are equally rare (ignoring Graves/Grindelwald and Mr Gold), and completing a set isn‘t all that hard. I see your point, but I doubt they‘d go back to bags if the series ended up selling poorly. -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don‘t have any real stake in the whole blind bag vs blind box discussion since I always buy entire cases, but if I were a regular customer in a shop, I wouldn‘t want to buy bags that were handled by dozens of people with their unwashed mittens Call it anti-consumerist, but the whole point of blind bags/boxes is that you don‘t know what you‘re getting. The bagged CMF series were already a big exception on the toy/collectible market as you can‘t „cheat“ by feeling the contents with most other products. Closing that loophole was only a matter of time -

True, but they couldn‘t have gotten away with it for those minifigs as the respective polyjuiced characters didn‘t exist separately before (i.e., Barty Crouch Jr, Crabbe, Goyle, Grindelwald). Here, they theoretically could do that. Of course I‘m hoping for a new dual-sided head with unique expressions instead! I doubt the goblins will all have unique parts, so I assume there are two dual-sided faceprints, three different hairpieces, and two torso prints. These parts could then easily be used to create a variety of goblins
