LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

No. If that was the goal, they’d give out completely false information, not slightly inaccurate intel If you stop trusting leakers that have been around for multiple years because of some relatively minor mishaps, that’s a you-problem -

Just because nobody's demanding it on social media doesn't mean that people don't want it "WhO aSkEd FoR tHiS" is not a good argument as lots of popular things are things that nobody actively asked for. As for the buildable figures: the fact we're still getting multiple a year, making it one of the most consistent subthemes next to the microfighters, can only mean they sell fairly well. If they didn't, they would've stopped, simple as that. Nobody's holding a gun to the design team's heads, forcing them to release more buildable figures Yeah, this looks a lot more like QT-KT rather than R2-KT! I don't blame anyone for confusing the two though. -

Giancarlo Esposito‘s character appears quite prominently in the trailer for CA:BNW, despite seemingly only having been added in reshoots. Too bad the set likely won‘t be updated to reflect that change -

According to exabricks, buildable logos will be coming next year, with Marvel and SW ones making the start (assuming they‘ll not be the only ones). That could be pretty neat to display alongside your collection! -

According to exabricks, there‘s a new type of set coming next year: buildable logos. There‘s gonna be a Marvel and a SW one Could be pretty neat to add to a collection! Hopefully they make one for every current licensed theme -

They‘ve been way too infrequent to have already outstayed their welcome Maybe if OC sets were a yearly thing! We had two YC sets (one in 2013, the other in 2014), two FM sets in 2016, three in 2017, and now three RTG sets in 2024. That‘s fewer sets in 12 years than individual movies have received within a year after their debut Also, kids won‘t mind since a lot of them weren‘t around or too young for LEGO when the FM sets dropped. I wager most collectors won‘t mind either with all the cool exclusive minifigs, even though they‘re not canon. I‘ll take a Falcon with a crazy colour scheme and bonkers minifigs over the same old boring OT Falcon with the same uninteresting minifigs any day Now that we finally have Nien Nunb, there‘s pretty much nothing an OT Falcon could offer in terms of new minifigs. -

Yeah, likely there won‘t be any new dinos in that wave since the sets for the new movie will devour a vast chunk of the budget The JWD wave included an impressive array of new dino species, so hopefully they can repeat that! Of course, that depends on what dinos will star in the movie itself -

It leaked on the 9th of September Technically, we had two leaks already (last year‘s survey leak plus one of the inner boxes recently), but these don‘t really count, I know -

The charges were bogus of course, but he did shoot an unarmed man begging for his life in the face, so I was actually rooting for his murderous megablocks to be thrown in prison Jedi Bob is a cool minifig to get given his meme-y nature, but my issue with the set is the other figures. The Ackbar trooper is one of the laziest minifig designs I‘ve ever seen and that Gonk droid really is nothing to write home about Still a neat set though! -

I wouldn‘t expect a large castle expansion in the 1HY wave though. Sure, there‘s nothing to stop them from switching things around, but I doubt they want to change their magic formula nilly willy On a different note, what minifigs do you think we‘ll be able to cross off our list next year? My top pick is Narcissa Malfoy It‘s the eighth year, about time if you ask me -

I‘m seemingly one of the few people who didn‘t much care for the show, so I can chime in with some reasons I don‘t like Cassian. He was my least favourite character in Rogue One, and the show did little to improve my opinion on this selfish backstabbing a-hole. The show should‘ve focussed on actually interesting and more likeable characters like Luthen. The sideplots go nowhere, at least in S1. Usually, sideplots merge with the main plot at some point. Here, it‘s the opposite, Mon Mothma‘s sideplot starts off connected, but has less and less to do with Cassian‘s shenanigans as the show progresses to the point I‘m wondering why it‘s even there. Seriously, unless they explain it in S2, what is the point of having Mon Mothma in this? For instance, Vel being her cousin is treated like a big twist, but it doesn‘t affect anything (so far). A lot of the side characters are super flat and flavourless. You have fascinating characters like Nemik, but also ones that just exist, like Teremyn, Cinta, that jealous boyfriend guy, or most of the prisoners. Having next to no aliens doesn‘t help things. Cyril. Just Cyril. Why do we have so many scenes with him getting berated by his mother? One would have sufficed. Also, why does he get so much screentime? He’ll obviously expose Luthen at the end, but we don‘t need to see his boring life for that. Where‘s the espionage? This was advertised as a spy thriller, and the eponymous character doesn‘t do any spying Granted, there‘s the ISB and Lonny, but still. The show blatantly breaks the „show, don‘t tell“ rule. They talk so much about certain characters only for them to die off-screen (like Kreegyr). The action pales in comparison to the build-up. Great speeches, very mediocre action that follows them. What I do like are some of the characters (Luthen, Kino, Nemik, Saw) and the speeches. Just my 2 cents I don‘t hate the show, but I do hate the fact that after 24 episodes, Andor will likely end up as a top contender for the SW character with the most life-action screentime, and he‘s not worthy of that title in my opinion That said, I‘m looking forward to S2 since K2 and other characters from RO will be in it And the Fondor would make for an excellent set! -

BrickHeadz is its own theme with separate set numbers, so a set like that would not part of the 7-set wave -

A couple of wild guesses: DADA classroom (PoA) with Lupin and the boggart Buildable chocolate frog (similar to the one in the Hogwarts Icons set) Small castle section based on PoA Buildable basilisk (or a small CoS set with a repeat of the 2021 version) Knight Bus Quidditch pitch Battle at the Department of Mysteries I‘ll likely be completely off the mark, but it‘s fun speculating -

They kinda have to be part of the 9 we heard of because those were said to cover the entire year. I doubt the leaker somehow managed to miss those 2 So, now the question is how many of the remaining 7 will be based on the new movie My guess would be 5. The waves for JWFK and JWD both included a set based on the first movie, so there’s a chance they’ll do that again, plus it’s the 10th anniversary of JW, so they might release a set based on that film as well. Or they simply do a JW anniversary set instead of a JP one, leaving us with 6 sets based on the upcoming film ^^ -

You mean for other themes? Because we only ever had one January wave for HP, namely in 2021. All the 1HY waves since have been scheduled for March worldwide I assume the upcoming wave will be rather similar to this year’s 1HY one, meaning 1-2 buildable objects at different scales, 2 small-ish castle expansions, and other smaller sets Content-wise, I feel PoA and GoF may get the spotlight again after this year’s focus on PS and CoS, though I’d like to see more sets from the later movies. Still not giving up hope for a Battle of the Seven Potters set eventually -

We’ve had a venom T-Rex before, so a venomised horse wouldn’t be too far-fetched
