LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Whovastron replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Where on instagram? -
So I’m someone who has never really had an interest in the Ninjago theme. I own the Ice Tumbler vehicle and use it for Mr. Freeze in a Batman display. but man, Ninjago City is by far one of the best Lego sets ever made, and an instant purchase for me. The prospect of there being a part 2 gets me more excited than any Star Wars or Superheroes leak! So hyped!

There also seems to be a constraction 501dt Clone Trooper with AT-RT! Now that is the top of my most wanted list! I am still desperate for the Scout Trooper and Speeder bike, but this just beats it by a mile. I had the original AT-RT system set when I was little and adored it so this is a dream come true -

New X-wing! I love my 2012 one but a new one is definately due, considering the improvements that made the TFA X-Wings look so sleek. Can’t wait to get this. Hopefully this means a TIE may be coming too -
Best Theme: The Lego Batman Movie (honourable mentions: Ninjago Movie, Star Wars, Speed Champions) Best Set: Ninjago City (hm: Saturn V, Millennium Falcon) Best minifigure: The Riddler (hm: Bane, Spider-Man, Iron-Man ANAD, Two-Face) Worst Theme: Marvel Superheroes (HM: DC Superheroes) Worst Set: ATM Heist Battle (HM: First Order Heavy Scout Walker, Hulk Vs Red Hulk, Captain America Jet Set) Worst Minifigure: Shocker (HM: The Vulture) most looking forward to in 2018: Harry Potter and Infinity War!

What was your favourite LEGO set released in 2017
Whovastron replied to McLaren97's topic in LEGO Town
In a year where I got Saturn V and The Millennium Falcon, somehow Ninjago City takes it for me. Despite never buying a Ninjago set before, I had to own it. It’s just everything; bright, full of character and wonderfully designed. The Saturn V is a very close second though -

Absolutely love the gunatlet! It’s not so big as to look ridiculous on Thanos and it’s got just the right level of Lego’s simplified style to work and not look too caricature-y. Can’t wait to collect all the stones and rule the Lego Marvel universe!- 3,962 replies

Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi discussion. **SPOILERS**
Whovastron replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I really liked Finn. Out of the 4 main new characters (Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo) I found Kylo’s arc in TLJ the best, followed by Poe, then Finn , then Rey (I’ll get onto that) he blew them up in star killer base cause they are the murderous scum that took his life, aswell as killed all those innocents from earlier. And him killing Phasma was simply cause he had an advantage, wouldn’t you take that opportunity? i think his arc of learning not to run and to fight is very well done, and if he had died it would have been fitting. now Rey, people say her arc is great, I disagree. Everything that happens to her is because someone else puts it on her. Luke inspires her to start the Jedi differently, Snoke makes her grow her relationship with Kylo. She just seemed very Neo to me in that she was a blank slate for people to imprint on. Maybe it’s cause I find Daisy Ridley as someone who is very unlikeable, but I really went off of Rey in this film, despite loving her in The Force Awakens. -

Quite annoying with the FO AT-ST. From playing Battlefront, the design is really cool and meaner looming than the original (same with the AT-AT) So it’s a shame that this is incomplete, especially as that one is complete at the beginning of the scene. -

Stayed up all night writing an essay but gave myself a quick break and saw the movie. Was pretty great, very character driven in a way Star Wars has never been before. definately need a rewatch though! -

Iron Man looks great, as do the members of the black order. Cap looks great, Widow looks okay, Doctor Strange doesn’t have enough difference to be interesting to me. And Thanos and Spider-Man just look awful. very mixed bag, this wave is looking less and less promising- 3,962 replies

Got my VIP card. However my name has been partically rubbed off somehow during its posting. D’you think Lego would be able to replace it? -
Does anyone else think that the new fat-Grey-Monster with a waistcoat bigfig from Ninjago would be perfect for the troll from Philosphers Stone? Would bet good money that will be in a set.

The catalog image was fake. love the look of these 2 sets! It seems with the Lego batman movie out of the way we’re getting some quality back in the wider superheroes lines! That ship is great! And that rhino is so random but looks so good, our first lego rhino? Or atleast armoured one- 3,962 replies

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I had a thought, in the lego Batman 3 game, Deathstroke and the DLC Deathstroke have printed helmets that are very similar in design to the new ‘all purpose’ helmet used on Iron Man and Vulture in the Marvel line. Does anything think there’s a chance we could see a new Deathstroke with this helmet? It’s pretty much perfect for the figure, and the original face always seemed a bit off to me. also it could have been used for the fully helmeted Cyborg from Justice League, if that had remained in the movie, -
Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
A few people have said about the vanity fair photos and the costumes. Bare in mind that is a 10th anniversary shoot, not Infinity War. And many of the costumes and things seen are different due to spoilers at the time they were taken. For example Thor still has his hammer, Groot is a still a baby and Cap has his winter soldier costume. These were likely taken a very long time ago so things were changed to avoid spoilers for Infinity War leaking so I wouldn’t take anything you see there at confirmation of costumes or characters. -

Well on the UK lego shop website the FO TIE is already retired apparently, although most shops do still sell it. thanks for the help though, I think I’ll prioritise the Force Awakens sets. -

Same here, I’m in England if that makes a difference but I’m still waiting on my card, got the email a good few weeks back. Is there anywhere to go to find out which sets are retiring soon? I want to make sure I go through my wish list in the right order before the year is out, and considering Star Wars sets tend to increase in price dramatically after retirement, I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to which ones will be leaving us this fall? -

The poster says Star Wars BrickHeadz are coming in 2018, and considering we only know of 4 and they’re all basically out, it’s saying there will be more, and likely Vader. -
Probably not, wonderwomans Tiara is printed on so that’s a good giveaway

Minecraft is still hugely popular with kids, I’m sure they’re whipping these up. i love the minecraft sets. I was always tempted by them but didn’t take the plunge until late last year. I’ve got 6 or 7 sets now and the great thing is I haven’t even got any built, they were immediately destroyed and rebuilt by me and my girlfriend into our own little minecraft world. We love playing the game together and it’s just so awesome to be able to have that fun come to life! looking forward to the under £20 sets, they look like a lot of fun. The pictures are a bit unflattering to be honest but there are definitely some must buys in there
