[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
Whovastron replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Quick question, is the 14th VIP date the same for the UK? I only ask because the last time I was ready to queue in the early hours for a VIP release was for the Helicarrier, and was frustratingly dissapointed when i found out we got it two days later than most other places... -
I am in love. This set just blows the original out the water. I wouldn't want to be someone who spend 5000 on one! I doubt the Uk price will be £749. The Death Star is $500/£410, so I expect a figure of atleast 100 difference with a set that costs $300 more than the Death Star
-
I don't think there's any way a bit of extra detail on the top can result in a single UCS set amount of extra parts. I'd say an extra 1000 may be used on exterior detail, I think there will be some sort of interior detail. But hey I may be wrong
-
There is a second image with the set out of box with Leia, Han, C-3PO and Chewie
-
Well the bigger sets get, the bigger the price difference becomes, atleast on the England/US exchange, I expect it to not be that simple
-
So for all those people who doubted the Chinese image, it's on the side of the box. I'm hoping that the Force Awakens version is on the reverse side, and that we get a Bespin Luke
-
Very excited to hear about this, my girlfriend recently got into Lego and Harry Potter is her favourite thing in the world! I myself would love an Emerald Night-style Hogwarts Express!

If you compare it to an image of the original model from the same angle (there is one floating around on Reddit) it is remarkably different, hardly anything is an exact copy. I am so excited for this, the most expensive Lego set I've ever bought is the Helicarrier, and I never thought I'd be able to afford this, but its starting to look like I actually can!
-
What is the guess for the UK price for the MF? I know the estimate for the US is $700/800, I'm thinking that would make it £600/700 over here?

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
The Kiss Kiss keyring has been removed from Argos! Damn I hadn't gone round to get one yet also it's not just the Batman Movie theme that's being heavily discounted in the U.K., almost every theme is like that now days over here, not that I'm complaining! It's not worth getting sets within atleast a month after release over here any more. -
21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)
Whovastron replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Is there any sort of confirmation on the availability of this set? John Lewis has it up (although out of stock) in the U.K., if this set is limited it would be very unusual for them to stock it, I assume it's exclusive to them and Lego shops in the UK -
Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion

It's probably a bigger picture than just TLG choosing to release them in Europe first. There must be some reason it will take longer for them to be distributed in America.- 5,808 replies

Fantastic Beasts 2018 - Speculation & Future Set Discussion
Whovastron replied to Ookami's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sorry to change the topic suddenly, but what do people think the chances are of some more Indiana Jones sets coming when 5 hits in 2019? It will be almost 10 years since the last wave of sets, and there was less of a gap when Harry Potter had it's rebooted theme. I think the potential is still there to do some interesting things with the theme. Do you guys think it could happen? -
How is it 260 in the U.K. Yet 250 in America. That is really odd. I like the look of it but that pricing really baffles me.

Just a heads up, TRU Cardiff pop-up store had the Vader Transformation, Tank and Bounty Hunter sets in today! So happy with the £20 price of the first 2 sets! Was scared they would be £30

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Picked up the Scarecrow Fearful Face-off from the TRU pop-up store in Cardiff today! They had the whole summer wave, but I'm gonna wait till the £50 sets become £37 on Amazon in a month or so. Really love the build, for such a small set they really do something impressive. Somehow both £11.99 sets are some of the best from the theme! -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think I'll wait till the summer sets are inevitably reduced in Amazon. I have no idea why amazon (also John Lewis, who match their prices) have been so cheap for the last year, but I love it. The Batcave set was £65 last week!!! so far I've not paid full price for any of the LBM sets (or any sets for the last year really) but last week the prices were so cheap I still wish I had waited. -
No it's a new, better quality one. really like the flash minifigure. Overall I really like the the Justice League sets. The Atlantis one I'm not too interested in but if it's only £20 then that's fine by me. The Nightcrawler set looks a bit all over the place in design, but I'm gonna wait till in-hand pics to judge it, but after the trailer it definitely looks like it will have a good role in the film. the Flying Fox is a mixed bag, whilst I like the ship itself, I'm disappointed we are getting almost the exact same batmobile, kinda makes last year's set redundant, especially as that goes at almost half the original price in all the shops I go to. Very disappointed in Superman, I may just pic up another Sky high battle (again going very cheap) just to give him the same legs. Wonder Woman is always a win, Batman looks fine but I don't like the armoured movie costume anyway, so he'll stay the BvS suit in my display. I actually like Steppanwolf, atleast it's not as big as groot (gives me hope for a more accurate sized Groot in the infinity war sets) and the head looks great. Can't see Cyborg well so can't really judge. I'm not a huge fan of the Parademon colours, but I'm glad we get a lot of them. Overall a nice wave, DC is doing a much better job this year when compared to Marvel.

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would expect 1 black Panther set with Panther himself (maybe an unmasked head to ad some variation?), one of his guard ladies (forget their name right now), and the villain. for Ant-Man and the Wasp I would expect the same as the first film; a £20/$20 set with Ant-Man, the Wasp and the Villain. i think infinity War is likely to just have 6 sets, Lego hasn't really gone over that with any waves of Superheroes. Avengers had 6, the comic Justice League wave had 5, Age of Ultron had 6 (maybe 7 if you include the Helicrarrier), and the January/March waves this year in Marvel had 6. I think the most we would get is 6, but a lot of big sets to contain more figures, and maybe an extra set in the summer with spoiler characters like Civil War. -
I've seen people say that the minifigure recycling is worse than Civil War....I don't see how. Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman. What exactly could you have changed considering they all have the exact same outfits. The head is literally the only thing. It is a shame about Superman's boots though, not sure why they did that. i also think Steppenwolf looks cool, I really like his head and headgear and hope that if we get another Groot for Infinity War, that it's in this style rather than the giant version we had before. overall the sets are fine. The Atlantis set is. Doing but hey aquaman. The knightcrawler looks weird but that's the vehicle rather than the Lego set, and the set itself looks nice. And I really like the look of the big set. Much much. Enter than anything Marvek have put out this year.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Whovastron replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The battle set is fine but underwhelming. The ship is too bright but the wolf build is cool. but that arena, it looks like a bad MOC photoshopped onto a superheroes box. It looks so bland and awful. Disappointed.- 5,808 replies

Every news outlet is saying the game is released but UK retailers still say March 10th...I'm confused as it says 7th is the world wide release date

Based solely on the sets alone, not really price (as some such as the Tail Gator I have gotten in deals and sales etc.) here's my ranking of the ones released so far: 1.Killer Croc's Tail Gator: It maybe expensive but I just love the look of the thing with all it's tiny details, it matches the character much better than 2016's awful crocodile mouth thing. The minifigures are meh in my opinion but Killer Croc has grown on me since I've had him. 2. The Joker's Notorious Lowrider: A set I was very hesitant to buy as the minifigures mostly didn't interest me and it seemed expensive, however upon building it, it somehow seemed worth the money. The build is solid and comes together very well and it has some great features and detail. The Joker minifigure is great for fans of the movie design, and the Harley Quinn is fantastic. 3. Arkham Asylum: A set I have yet to get, but it looks fantastic with a brilliant selection of minifigures and accessories and can go great as a movie display or with the old 2013 Arkham as a second building, which is my plan! 4. The Penguin's Arctic Roller: I just love the look of this set, very League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I just love it! Only thing that lets it down is the character selection. 5. The Riddler's Riddle Racer: great minifigures, decent build, a definitive version of the riddler with cane! All around a fun set 6. Clayface Splat Attack: despite a high rrp (although a lot cheaper in the U.K. Now, wish I had waited) this set is quite good. The clayface build is really nice and I'm so happy we got this rather than a little minifigure. Getting a second set to make the legs a bit better would be great but overall a lovely little set with a rare-great character build in clayface 7. Catwoman Cycle Chase: I surprisingly really like this set despite not being bothered much about it. The bike is very nice and well designed and minifigures are great. 8. I don't really intend to get this set but seeing it in real life in store displays it looks really nice and comes with a great selection of minifigures. I really want the poison Ivy! 9. The Joker's Ballon Escape: a nice little set with a great build that just fits well with the joker character. Also the joker minifigure himself is great. 10. Batcave Break-In: the Batcave itself is not too interesting and not a great build, but the penguin's duck is just ridiculous and brilliant in that sense and I kinda love it! The minifigures are all around amazing and the batboat isn't half-bad either. 11. Mr.Freeze Ice Attack: despite initially being really excited for this set, the much better version of Mr. Freeze in the juniors set and the small volume of stuff really puts this set down. I love the mech but I don't really have a place for it in my display. It is still a nice set for those who love the Movie design of Freeze however. 12. The Batmobile: interting design of it wasn't a batmobile but I just don't like it at all, and the minifigures aren't that interesting either. 13. Scarecrow Special Delivery: not even sure if I've got the set name right, I never intend to get this set, it just looks boring and the scarecrow minifigure is terrible, a sad thing to have to say about a set revolving around my favourite DC villain.

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Whovastron replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Bog thank you on the Ocado tip! Just bagged the two smaller Guardians sets and Detroit Steel with 4 Batman CMF for £62!!! Amazing. The Milano is sold out, I wasn't too fussed about that as I have the original but would have liked to get it with that discount for the minifigures and stickers. When it comes back I might get someone I know to buy it and I'll pay them so I can get the £20 off discount again!- 5,808 replies
