Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion
Whovastron replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The box art looks very boring for basically all of them. A lot of open space where nothing is happening. The most interesting-looking one is the Sanctum, but that’s due to the interesting large build.- 3,962 replies

We are getting a 25th anniversary set for Jurassic Park, so you never know. Obviously JP has the benefit of having both JP3 and JW/JWFK Sets to establish a well-earning theme, but still you never know
-
There’s also a video of the classic Raptor being built on youtube

I had this toy when I was younger, but didn’t realise for years that it was from Jurassic Park, until I realised that it was a JP on the side! i remember attaching paper ‘wings’ to it to make it a Hungarian Horntail for my lego Harry Potter cause I didn’t have the set! How wonderful it is to in turn get a Lego version of this guy over a decade later!!

I doubt this rumoured 4th Set is real, unless it’s a retailer exclusive. It wasn’t in the catalogue.

Yes! I hope we get 2 in the Set. I would bet money on it being 2 raptors and a T-Rex EDIT: where can one find the raptor? I keep missing these JP leaks

Are we sure some of the listed ones aren’t the 2 juniors sets?

Do we know which is which? im assuming the cheapest is the Pteranadon Set, and the $50 Set is the T-Rex. Is this $89.99 Set known? Could it be the Jurassic Park Set?

I Spinosaurus could be done in a similar way to that new one that reuses the Indominus parts. reuse a body from either the Indominus or T-Rex, add a new head (which could also be used for a Baryonyx) and new long arms. A ‘spine’ piece could be made to fit the 2x4 stud area on the moulds back.

Could find the images, even with googling :(

Yeah but compared to today’s Dinos that’s nothing. Having what we saw in the JW video game would be perfect.

What we’re people expecting though honestly? The quality of superhero sets has never been fantastic, especially in the last year or so. It seems almost verging on juniors simplicity in design sometimes. Just look at some of the design choices on the UCS Helicarrier - cockpit window? Wrongly coloured black parts and incorrect blue propellers? It’s definately not given the love that themes like Star Wars are. fortunately the sets this year do looks improved. The general release BP and IW sets look great - even the general Hulkbuster is a huge improvement on the 2015 one, and the sanctum is gorgeous. I think this UCS Hulkbuster does simplify some things though. However this may simply be the price point, with an extra 1000 pieces and a few inches in size and the detail of a Star Wars UCS this could be amazing, but that probably won’t sell, and the shapes are very curvy. I think for the price this is a very good rendition, and the photos on the box are not doing it justice based on the angle and positioning. Just check out the hologram at the bottom, the legs are much closer to what the “real” suit looks like.- 3,962 replies

Maybe just a Star Wars rifle with something on the end like a lightsaber hilt? Would work for me.

UCS Millennium Falcon is on shelves at the same time at the TFA Falcon, and soon the Solo Falcon. Same goes for the UCS TIE Fighter. It’s a large scale version of a different variant of the armour so it doesn’t really Clash that much- 3,962 replies

The thing with the raptor is that it’s a completely different colour in the first 3 movies, more in line with the T-Rex in the JW sets. Considering that’s the more ‘iconic’ design, I think at least one Raptor is an essential - especially if we get Muldoon ;D EDIT: i do wish the Jurassic World lime had a more Indiana Jones Set-up. A wave of sets covering the new movie, and a wave covering the past films. Would be so easy as there are a lot of memorable characters and set pieces from the first 3; the gates, the paddocks, the cars, the San Diego chase, the plane in 3, the aviary etc.

Perhaps the price we’ve been leaked is just not accurate, and it will turn out to be a lot less? I remember people saying the UCS Millenium Falcon would be £750, but if was £100 less than that.

Spinosaurus is my favourite dinosaur, and I loved Jurassic Park 3 when I was little! I really want a spinosaurus of some kind, whether it be from a Jurassic set or something like Creator. personally for the JP set. I just need the gates, a jeep, a raptor and T-Rex. Minifig need to be Alan, Tim, Lex, Ellie, Hammond, Ian and Muldoon (maybe the lawyer if you want but doesn’t bother me if it doesn’t come with one.) if that was what the set was, I’d easily get 2 for another Raptor and Jeep!

Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

I think the pictures they’ve used for the box art are very misleading for the legs. The ‘hologram’ style silhouette of the suit on the back of the box at the bottom shows the legs to be much more in proportion than they appear in the main images, not perfect, but acceptable in my opinion.- 3,962 replies

Hmmm..people keep saying it’s an odd choice an Avengers tower or facility is a better choice or more iconic. Really? The Hulkbuster is a very popular and iconic thing from the comics and was definitely one of the biggest talking points from both Age of Ultron and now Infinity War. And it got supporters on Ideas so this makes complete sense to me. also I’ve seen one person say the head is oversized, and one day it’s undersized, not sure what to make of that. It there you go- 3,962 replies

Perhaps this set is the unknown exclusive? Would be odd making it exclusive though considering it would sell like hot cakes.

Has there been any update on these rumoured sets?
-
Please let this be true. I just finished playing Lego Jurassic World and it’s criminal to tease us with all the 1-3 film content without any sets. Considering the 2 successful Ideas projects, I’m amazed it’s taken this long for a Jurassic Park Set to happen!

I don’t know which bottom left you’re looking at, but in the pictures I see the corner is either cut off or just has a hologram of the figure... also the leg arc reactors are lighting up in the same way as the hands, so I’m fairly certain it will just be the chest with a light brick.- 3,962 replies
