  1. It looks like they had no room to show the droids on the picture. Unfortunately, the table at the bottom with all of the set information has been mostly clipped off so, unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait until an official announcement to know which and how many minifigs will be included.
  2. And the bad thing is, according to an employee at my local LEGO Store, they won't be restocked. I went yesterday to complete the series, only to discover that they had been replaced with the LEGO Movie Soundtrack. I asked the employee and he said that they have all been sold and will probably not be restocked. Get ready for some expensive prices on the second-hand market!
  3. I was looking to skip the Sandcrawler... But now I can't! This one surpasses the original in every single way, so it looks like I'll have to get this one too. My wallet would be crying, but LEGO has made me so broke in the past year that I had to sell my wallet for more cash. Also, just a random question, but what is with LEGO's fascination with Holocrons? Is it because they're an easy plot MacGuffin?
  4. Just a quick question, but wouldn't this whole discussion be better suited for the "What Comics do you Read?" topic in the culture and multimedia forum? This is about the sets, not the various properties they're based on. EDIT: Ninja'd by Moon_Knight! After seeing the GOTG trailer another time, I'm starting to like the Groot figure a lot more. I had never noticed the moss that is prevalent on his film counterpart, so now I understand why there are splashes of dark green on the figure.
  5. On a kind of hopeful note, if you're interested in EU Empire or Alliance vehicles, there might be some near in the future due to the Rebels TV series.
  6. I hate to burst your bubble but did you see this topic? (Credit to HJR) "The Expanded Universe is dead folks. Hasbro has been directed by Lucasfilm, Ltd. (the culprit in many of Hasbro's bad business decisions) to avoid the Expanded Universe like the plague. Not only is it next to impossible that we'll see a brand new Expanded Universe figure in the near future (we're talking years folks), older and hard to find figures will NEVER see re-release either. So far there is already an exception. Hasbro has received permission to get Bastila Shan, Darth Malgus, the Republic Trooper and Starkiller out into the line again, but that's only because of the distribution nightmare surrounding The Vintage Collection which have been planned way in advance to the recently announced "No EU" directive. Hasbro said, and I quote, to 'not expect to ever see Jaina Solo or Jacen Solo or any other older Comic Packs figure re-released in any way to get out to collectors'."
  7. Another curiosity is whether the Milano will come with a potted plant to represent Groot. In the comics, this is how he travels with the team, so I imagine it'll be the same in the film. Then, you could fit all of the Guardians in the ship!
  8. I like the size of Groot, but are those dark green bricks on his arms and legs? If it is then that's... weird. In my opinion, Groot should be made only of shades of brown. But, maybe there's a story context for the splashes of green, though I don't see any in the trailer.
  9. The more I see this set, the harder it is to pass up. Though due to the price point, I think I may have to. Hopefully I'll be able to get it in the coming months...
  10. I think they've made the wise decision to make the Jedi and Sith less ninja-esque and more knight-like as they were in the OT by bulking up their weapons. I hope the Sandcrawler is packed with an interior. That's the one thing 10144 was lacking, and having already owned the original, I expect some massive upgrades to match the massive pricetag. What brings the Sandcrawler discussion back to the surface anyway, have we gotten any news?
  11. I think the reason there is no lightsaber in the set is because we won't see him with one for a little while, but that's just speculation on my part. Because they gave Ventress a new mold back in '08, I think it's likely that Ezra will get one as well. Well they did just give him a completely new redesign in the Falcon Microfighter, so I think it's fair that they didn't give him another in the Cantina.
  12. The recent black heads (as of 2012) have had printing of a face on them. That way, from the back, where the helmet meets the neck, it looks like the head is black, and when you take the helmet off, you still have a face.
  13. Not to go too off topic, but the Guardians of the Galaxy books are filled with comedy almost as much as action. But that could be just because Brian Michael Bendis is writing... But back on topic, I'm pleasantly surprised that the Milano looks extremely screen accurate (taking into account the disaster that was the Iron Man 3 wave in terms of screen accuracy).
  14. I hate to be that guy, but I think you mean 2003. But I wholeheartedly agree. Also, why have they replaced the black heads with facial printing with the clone facial print? The other one was perfectly fine, and in my case, preferable. Judging that he is the only figure without a "NEW!" label, I'd say yes.
  15. The name/logo was changed so late in the production process (because of the uproar by fans) that the merchandising logo is still "Ninja Turtles."
  16. This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Personally, I'm not too beat up about no EU either and I'm glad that we're going to see a lot of OT in the future. There's plenty of material for the next couple of waves until it gets Episode 7 heavy.
  17. Does anyone know how long until this line gets discontinued? I'm trying to collect all the figures before I start buying the other sets as I imagine the sets will have a much longer shelf time.
  18. After two years of floundering, I think this wave of Marvel Superheroes has gotten it right. The sets look great---The X-Jet makes a lot of use with its small piece count, so I'll feel justified in spending $50. I think this will be the first time (besides some of the first wave) that I'll be buying not because I'm a collector, but because I'm actually interested.
  19. These sets look absolutely fantastic, though I question some of the minifigure choices. I think the cheekbones might make the new figures look out of place with the older figures and the ones on Luke look just plain wrong. I'll have to see them in person to condemn them further. I love the sets, so unfortunately this means I'll have to collect them all.
  20. So the Milano is an incarnation of "Ship!" (I'm basing this off of Gamora and Drax both being in the cockpit) Great news!
  21. I really like the bank truck set. It has a nice, clean look and is refreshingly neutral compared to the frequent good guy/bad guy vehicles. The AIM base is pretty good, though I'm a bit biased towards location-themed sets. It seems a bit thrown together. I'll be getting all of these sets since I'm a collector, and hopefully these sets will look better in the brick.
  22. Note: The wording of my short review could imply potential spoilers; read at your own risk. I went to the 10:30 PM show on Friday and the theater was packed and the audience, including myself, was laughing every minute. I'm going to go with the general consensus here and say that this is an outstanding film, one of the best animated pictures in a while. The animation was stunning: one's focus would obviously be on the main characters, but the whole screen is packed with detail and catching every little easter egg is going to require many, many viewings. Also, this movie is hysterical; it's packed to the brim with pop culture references and jokes. And although I think we all saw the ending twist coming, they did much more with this twist than I thought they would and I actually cried a little bit at the end. It ends up being a celebration of not only the brick but the fans, both children and adults alike, who love it so much. I'm giving it a 5/5.
  23. Blue and yellow is also the color scheme for the Nova Corps. Zzz also said that the ship on the top right of the comic page, "Ship," looked like the $20 set. But I do hope you're right...
  24. So I'm guessing that the $20 set is the GOTG's "Ship." If that's true, I'm pretty disappointed as I'd rather have an $80-90 "Ship" and a $20 Nova Corps. starship. That way, you could fit most if not all of the GOTG in it and not just one member. Of course, the movie could be just deviating from source material design; we'll just have to wait and see.
  25. The Star Destroyer sounds (and looks) like it will be leaps and bounds better than the 2006 version, but it's a shame that the interior is still pretty barren. I'm not sure what the hole is for, as I thought it was said somewhere that there would be no escape pod feature; I could be wrong about though.
