  1. I think those are mainly coincidental and, like others have said, pure marketing. Or it could be a reflection on the movie's scenes and what characters are included where are dictated by the scene they are featured most prominently in. I reckon this is the case with Groot and Rocket Raccoon. @Rinzler Or maybe I read the comics and have an affinity for Star-Lord. But even so, it's not the same picture.
  2. For me, it goes: 1. Avengers: Captain America vs. Hydra 2. Wolverine's Chopper Showdown 3. Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape 4. Extremis Sea Port Battle 5. Spider-Man: Spider-Cycle Chase 6. Doc Ock Truck Heist DC 1. Superman vs. Power Armor Lex 2. Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice 3. Batman: Man-Bat Attack 4. Superman: Black Zero Escape
  3. Michael C Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under) has expressed interest in playing Daredevil for the Netflix series! That doesn't mean anything exactly, but I would love to see him in the role. It would go against the rumor that the series will follow a younger Daredevil though...
  4. Or 76004 Spider-Cycle Chase, which in my opinion is one of the best $20 Superheroes sets.
  5. OK, my bad; I'm not a huge follower of that series. I think it should be something besides "silly action stuff" because it can be more. Have you read the recent IDW comics? They're spectacular. There is rich Japanese culture and a nice blend of moody and fun atmosphere. I think it's foolish to assume that just because there are mutant turtles (or something equally unreal) then it has to be a mindless action movie. That kind of thinking nearly killed the Batman franchise
  6. Yeah, thank goodness it's Jonathon Liebsman, the director of Wrath of the Titans... Battle: LA... and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake... oh. I'm going to go ahead and nominate this movie for the Criterion Collection!
  7. I'm loving the Marvel sets. Pleasantly surprised at the amount of interior space in the Milano and the Blackbird! Groot's arms though... Wow. Who thought that was OK? The minifigures are stunning, other than Drax, who is looking rather pale! But overall, I'm stoked. For once, I'm not buying all of the sets because I'm a collector-I'm buying them because they look great.
  8. Wow-these sets look phenomenal. I don't have a single complaint-except for the B-Wing. The wings are way too spread out when folded up. The stand outs are the Cantina and Imperial Star Destroyer for sure. Day one purchases!
  9. I loved The Winter Soldier as well. It had the perfect balance between grit and fun, something that many comic book movies fail at. It was full of references and Easter eggs to satiate the initiated. Great twists, acting, plot. Everything just clicked.
  10. I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I do think that Deathlok's design is mediocre at best, but the special effects of the show are great. All the shots of the plane flying (which, by the way, are not the same for every episode) are pretty seamless.
  11. He is included in the Turtle Lair set.
  12. Upon closer inspection, I guess you and Just2Good are right! My bad.
  13. I agree with the general consensus-the latest episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD was fantastic. I do find it questionable that... Also, the stinger of the clip/preview from the Captain America: The Winter Soldier was really tacky. Sure, it gives context for Fury's disappearance the past two episodes, but come a year from now, this will be just like the stinger from Captain America: The First Avenger-utterly pointless.
  14. To me, it seems that the shells are merely flipped upside down and the heads are made smaller to compensate. I could be wrong though...
  15. My main problems with the film can be boiled down to: 1. Transformers syndrome: From the trailer, the Turtles seem to be in the background of the STORY. I reckon that we'll get very little characterization or arcs for the four besides their obvious traits. 2. Megan Fox: Really? Aren't there any other stars that could play April O' Neil? Megan Fox has the charisma of a block of wood. 3. Sucked Dry: All of the Japanese culture that permeated Turtles lore has been sucked out: Shredder is white and the Foot Clan wields guns instead of ninja weapons. It's now just a bland, typical movie. 4. Phantom Menace syndrome: The new film tries to make both kinds of Turtles fans happy. Some, like me, love the dark, street side atmosphere of the Mirage comics, but others enjoy the large scale, inter-dimensional turtles. Both are valid interpretations, but this is attempting both to appease fans and thus making no one happy. Why do radio towers have to crush buildings? Can't we just have a simple Shredder/Splinter story based on the original comic? 5. Turtles or Babies: The best description that I've heard for the new turtles is that they look like babies with upturned noses. I totally agree. I'm pretty indifferent to the design as a whole, but the faces make me cringe.
  16. Wow-this is one of my favorite LEGO busts by far. You definitely have a keen eye for detail! The complex construction and use of SNOT makes this model stand out among the rest. Also, your parts usage is inspired. It's great to see that there are other Bowie fans on Eurobricks!
  17. Though the movie looks pretty awful, the sets should be great fodder for making a display or a MOC of the grittier Mirage and recent IDW comics. The sets don't seem to have the weird mix of ridiculous spectacle and dark Turtles that the Bay movie does.
  18. I am liking the new suit! A nice middle ground between the Winter Soldier and classic outfit. Oh, and some Agents of SHIELD rumors on how it ties in with TWS.
  19. This is fantastic, it looks so natural. From the accurate colors to the interesting rock design, this is miles ahead of LEGO's interpretation. I especially love the stone pillar sections of the house. Great work!
  20. I've heard of Supergirl. Now that's a fantastic film! But as a fan of the old Hulk TV series with Lou Ferrigno, I'm very curious in this Hercules movie...
  21. Wow! As a huge fan of the original KOTOR game, this is a great surprise! A must buy to be sure... That Sandcrawler is looking more and more like a first day purchase.
  22. I think commenting on 2013 sets is more on topic than arguing about sets we want in 2015 or Marvel vs. DC.
  23. That's disappointing. And considering the pushed release date for Batman/Superman, I'm not sure I would get my hopes up for 2015. The future for LEGO DC doesn't look too bright at the moment... But the good news is that it doesn't seem like Marvel/DC have to have equal amounts of sets. So if DC flounders, the Marvel line won't suffer as well.
  24. I've been playing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It's much better than Returns (which was fantastic in its own right). I love the new water mechanics, the 3D "on-rail" sections, and the addition of Dixie and Cranky Kong. Definitely worth a buy!
  25. My architecture favorites are: 1. Robie House 2. Fallingwater 3. Villa Savoye 4. Imperial Hotel 5. Farnsworth House
