I think the lair and the turtle van look great and really harken back to the 2003 cartoon which I loved unashamedly. If the tone and fun of the movie is that sort of feel then it should be fun to watch. The trailer gave off what I would define as a GI Joe retaliation style vibe and that I enjoyed and it is a shame that didn't get Lego sets cause there was lots of potential there. Maybe the 3rd one will if we are lucky (unless kreo beats Lego to the plate) I would hope that kreo would no longer exist when the third film comes out. Back on topic I really dig the shredder more so than the 2013 version as it just seems really cool I mean the silver and blue look once again seems similar to the shredder of the 2003 series and the printing on the helmet and the armour mould just seem far superior than the 2013 version although I like the burns on the face its good that this one in the movie line has no scars which I quite like for some unknown reason.

Plus the bad guy only has three goons like with the Chitauri in the avengers range. However nicely unlike the avengers range we get other characters other than the principle team: Nebula and nova corps officer. Plus thankfully we get weapons for the bad guy goons this time round that look like weapons. The chitauri we got one brick built blaster. So this range looks like it has improved on previous mistakes, plus unlike avengers all the characters look more or less like the movie designs. With avengers there were inaccuracies like black widow, Bruce Wayne face on Loki, shades on Hawkeye. However looking at these sets I see no costume inaccuracies, unique face prints and thankfully no cheekbones on gamora. Hopefully next year black widow will follow suit. Storm also has no cheekbones. Hopefully they have realised marvel wise that cheekbones for female heads. Really impressed with the 2014 marvel range even the comic sets have some merit.

On another note if you watch this video an go to 20:39 you'll see that bolg is indeed tan,not white as originally thought. This also shows off a lot of designs such as Bain, alfrid and an alternate bard wearing some sort of royalish blue coat with silver chainmail underneath which is interesting. No it is not. it is produced by bay. Jonathan Liebsman is the director. Bay is just producing (the same role Spielberg is in on transformers 4). I thought the trailer was not bad and just because it is a new take on the turtles with a different story doesn't necessarily mean its going to be bad. In Marvel many things have different takes on characters and they are doing alright. I like the lair as it seems far more substantial than the cartoon one and that shredder design is awesome! I like that splinter is grey it sort of harkens back to the 2003 animated series. I think the movie could be a decent popcorn flick that isn't that deep but is a bit of fun and the sets look cool so once I see a proper longer trailer I may see the film. Heck lots of people hated the lone ranger but I really enjoyed it. So maybe it will be a repeat of that this time round.

WOW! The designs! The guns these sets look great! Far better than the April range sets! I especially like how we get the long trench coat star lord and the short jacket version. I will be picking all of these up! This would have been a perfect year for Lego marvel if we had got CATWS sets. Immensely impressed with this wave though!

Shame we haven't got a winter soldier figure at all this year. I'd hope for January 2015 they'd do a set for cap 2 like they did for TDKR as this film is a game changer and plot wise a damn important film to the continuing story of these avengers films. Or at least a promotion with a winter soldier figure. Like maybe if they do a Lego marvel superheroes movie based on the game he would be a good exclusive figure or maybe with the blu ray of the winter soldier in summer. Or ideally it could be the June Lego shop promo like hulk and jor el were. I hold out hope that Martian Manhunter was a random one off march promo so we can still have a marvel one in June like years before.

After seeing Captain America: The winter soldier yesterday. I have to say Lego certainly missed a huge opportunity! Set potential was everywhere! Forget invasion of new-York that is tame compared to the scenes in this movie! So many scenarios from the film would've made great sets. The Triskellion shield HQ would've made a great £100 set maybe with a black helicopter for nick fury. Personally I'd like to see MCU falcon, MCU fury and Coulson in the avengers sets next year as we haven't got them this year or with the first avengers movie sets. I'd guess we'd get all of the avengers in the movie plus strucker and ultron and whatever army they've got and maybe side characters such as MCU Fury, Agent Coulson and Maria hill. I'd hope for six sets for avengers 2 as it is marvel's biggest movie of 2015. In fact If it means we get a nice full line for age of ultron and a good selection of characters (e.g not just 7 avengers and a bad guy with three soldiers for his army.) then I'd happily forgo sets for ant man. It isn't marvel's biggest movie by any stretch and if thor 2 and cap 2 which were great and important didn't get sets then why should ant man? I'd be happier if we get maybe two catch up sets in January from cap 2 and thor 2 and then in April, 6 sets for age of ultron then that still leaves 2 set spots open for maybe animated based sets for something if marvel wish to have them or larger exclusive avengers 2 sets.

Right! Here is the story. For my final college media studies theory assignment, I have to select something I am passionate about and present the subject to one of my tutors as an idea for a TV documentary. I of course chose Lego and the fan community. I've made a video talking about Lego but I came up with the thought if I could get fellow fans to comment on this thread, I could put your opinions of Lego in the video in a quote montage. Great to see star lord even in prelims has those specially moulded guns from the movie Another sign Lego are really trying to nail accuracy in the movie sets this year! I mean Ronan's hood, those guns star lord's helmet and what looks like from to fair a possible new hairpiece for star lord. I'm impressed!

Any sign of any more images of the GOTG sets? Like I know we've seen the Milano and the one with nebula but any sign of pictures of the other one. I'd personally like to see what guns star lord has and what the characters all look like in better quality. When do you guys reckon we will get official pictures?

An excellent point montyofmusic. The Marvel vs. DC argument has been done to death on many forums unrelated to Lego. I personally think the fact that the xmen set involves three main DOFP characters and the sentinel certainly shows they are partially trying to make up for the fact that we have no movie tie in sets apart from GOTG. Like including electro similar to ASM2 and the choices of goblin in the USM set who is (coincidentally or not) in ASM2, and falcon who is appearing in Cap 2 and cap himself. Out of 6 avengers in the TV show they pick cap who is the main character of a new movie. In a way they have endeavoured to tie non movie sets to the movies.The only thing missing is winter soldier. In a way dc have also done this before in 2012 putting Bane and catwoman in the DC sets and even making a bat bike in the funhouse akin to the bat pod both of these events tie into TDKR. It just shows that lego certainly try to tie sets to movie even if it is just adding a character/s or a vehicle design. Interesting thought.

Ojik: Well the course I'm on is all about learning how to make films and so far for my assignments I've made about 5. Also I use what I learn to make stop motion brick-films. I used to put them on YouTube but due to the demands of the course I hardly ever have the time anymore. However I think I will start again soon. I finish this course in June and then I have a HNC (Next level up) course in sept so throughout June-sept I will have plenty of time to start again on the brick films. It depends on whether I guess the scene they are both in calls for it and how far lego wish to go. Personally I hope they go in the direction of more sets and more figures for AOA as with AA they did 2 smaller sets, one large set and one mid sized set. I guess the reason they did so little for Avengers 1 was because this was the first proper marvel Lego and they wanted to cover the basics. I.e: The six main heroes, the villain and some minions. Now they are full in their stride I think we should get: the seven main avengers, The villains: strucker, ultron, vision and their army/minions, then the four supporting characters: Fury, Hill, Falcon, war machine as he is set to appear (maybe he has a new design?). Also Steve Rodgers, and Bruce banner would be cool variants to have as we have tony stark from the IM3 line. I'd like to see as I said before at least 6 avengers 2 sets to support the movie. I also draw torso and face print designs for movie and TV characters in pencil to see how it would translate into Lego. The whole creative process is quite fun. I'd love to do what the Lego designers do. I'm a creative media student you see so In my studies it is essential to come up with ideas for projects otherwise they can't be filmed. I think Disney should stop trying to turn spider man into batman. So now he has a helicopter, a bike another bike?? What's next?? spider-unicycle! Seriously Lego need to make Spidey sets like the new doc ock one. Perfect example, Realistic bank vehicle, hero, villain a bit of scenery job done. Spidey copter could have been a shield colour scheme at least and had Coulson. Sony are doing a grand job of updating Spidey for the modern age and preserving the integrity and charm of the character. Disney are just ridiculing him by turning him into a one dimensional batman rip off with some awful voice work and some tacky brightly coloured vehicles. If they'd have used James Arnold Taylor who voices him perfectly in the Lego videogame in the series then the role would be credible but the one they are using currently is nowhere near the voice actor required for Spidey's wit charm and heroism. More sets like the doc ock bank van is what we need and no more useless vehicles for Spidey unless they bear the shield dark blue and the insignia. I wonder how USM will get round the fact that any kid who sees cap 2 is going to see shield as bad guys if they want to carry on showing them as good guys. Continuity will plummet! Hopefully with the viewing figures so we can get that awful show buried forever.

My least favourites are Iron Man vs. Trampdarin's shopping trolley of doom, the spider trike vs. electro (only redeeming factor is electro) I'm almost tempted to pick him up on his own online. The other three this year are fine but still sad we never got Malekith or Winter soldier or nick fury MCU.I like the new variants of the big three (only missing iron man). Considering WS they could've at least inserted him in the place of the hydra goon which would make sense. I like in a way they included classic cap (similar to WW2 cap uniform in the film) and falcon in comic design same with electro and goblin even if they are ultimate designs all we are really missing is gwen where mj was and the winter soldier. I hold out hope that we will get another spend £50 and get figure promo this year with Winter soldier or even ASM2 spidey as the one at sdcc could have been a preview for a future promotion like shirtless darth maul was at toyfair 2012.

Hopefully they pick Age Of Ultron to produce sets of in 2015 and NOT ant man. Age of ultron is a much larger and important marvel movie with a lot more characters that need to be made. I hope that like this year we get 9 sets but 6 of them are based on Age Of Ultron that would be a good amount. Also I'd hope we get larger flagship play set of either stark tower (avengers tower) or the helicarrier. That way they could make more characters and spread them between sets. Also with more new characters this time round they can't afford to put multiple Hawkeyes and thors in the sets. If they don't make avengers age of ultron sets it will stand as a colossal missed opportunity and I will be very disappointed. If there were six sets I could imagine one or two avengers in each set. Like in the smallest Cap ,strucker and a army of ultron figure?, In the next one Iron man, Fury, Coulson, Ultron, then Scarlett witch and quicksilver against an enemy or two in the next one, Then the hulk buster Iron man, hulk, black widow and a villain, Then maybe the stark/avengers tower £89.99 set with Iron man, Hawkeye, Ultron, Bruce banner, Coulson, Strucker, tony stark, Then the largest could be helicarrier and include: Cap, Steve rogers, Nick fury, Maria hill, ultron and 2 shield agents, Hulk and one ultron army guy. That's how I could see avengers 2 sets going hopefully. Wait I forgot vision as he is said to be in the film. he'd slot in to one of the sets. Plus falcon and war machine are returning so we'd need figures of them from age of ultron.

How do you know strucker isn't important to the plot of Avengers: age of ultron might I ask? I think he may be pivotal if the winter soldier film cast list is to believed. He is after all in charge of hydra and who knows how that will play into age of ultron. It could be one connecting story especially with hydra back in TWS if the track labelled "hydra" is anything to go by. I wouldn't discount him as a trivial appearance just yet. I would reckon we will get all of the avengers inc witch and quicksilver, strucker,ultron, MCU fury, Maria hill and Coulson at least!

I wholeheartedly agree wesker. sad CW Lego has to end now to make way for rebels. They could at least have the courtesy to finish the range with one last wave: Mandalore set involving bo katan, satine, maul, jet pack obi wan and season 4 vizsla, ringo vinda set with doom, Anakin, tup, fives tiplee tiplaa , trench and one of doom's troopers, Dissapeared set including mother talzin, mace windu (leg printing), cultists, Sacrifice set of the final fight with sidious, unique dooku, Anakin, R2, Yoda (battle damaged robe), Finally a personal request: a zillo beast set just for nosalgia's sake.
